Go to your local Jam nights people. This is where you're more likely to find like minded individuals.....

Barefaced Big Baby T + Baby Sub £600 Glasgow
LewisK1975 replied to itsmedunc's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Hold up - 2 different BF cabs which are the same width?!? Shut the front door! -
Dear me, you need a hazmat suit to even look at it.

What a lovely pair! ooo-errrr missus!

I've got the Metro 20 board (same underside clearance as the nano) and the Coiks DC-5. Works great for me (for now! ). Worth adding that some folks have successfully modified these boards to have taller feet so you get a bit more clearance underneath. See here, it's a older pedaltrain 'mini' in this case but the principal is the same.: - http://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/pedaltrain-mod-part-1-adjustable-feet.1240974/ http://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/pedaltrain-mini-mod-part-2-mounting-a-power-supply-diy.1249528/

Oh I forgot to add - Don't waste your hard earned on having to get the will power neck pickup, for one it's expensive, and secondly they don't even use it in the V3 Attitude, it's a yamaha pickup. I've even known someone to put a Dimarzio X2n (guitar pickup) in there and had great results. There's also an X2nb which is the same pickup but has more bottom end. Both cheaper than the will power neck pickup.
If I can locate some Will Power pickups I might just put them in my Yamaha Pulser and be done with it!
Again, they don't seem to come up secondhand - IIRC they're not too badly priced anyway... In fact, here you go: £69 in GAK, in stock. https://www.gak.co.uk/en/dimarzio-dp146-will-power-middle/97031?gclid=Cj0KEQiA9ZXBBRC29cPdu7yuvrQBEiQAhyQZ9OphMavJ48x8SOwo7tEuRCsZ9BCcnlE2M5eZbxW7yE8aApno8P8HAQ

I have fond memories of a particularly drunken all-nighter at a mate's house, where we drank smirnoff blue label and listened to 'Chelsea hotel #2' over and over and over.......RIP.
(You know what this is for Lewis, having discussed it a bit last week. I've a wanted ad up for the Will Power pickups to try in one of my current P basses first, but no joy yet...)
Indeed, and you will find everyting you're looking for in an Attitude ltd / 2 / 3. They do, as you know, command high prices though. And I personally think the current version 3 is way overpriced when new. Just depends how bad the GAS is I suppose!

No problem - Jon is a very affable guy and he'll definitely give you a honest opinion on whether the amp will do what you're looking for. Would definitely suggest contacting him. He's on facebook too.
Old thread revived. Can anyone talk about their experience with this in anger? Really would like to hear from users about its tone, especially the low end channel clean
Search youtube for a guy called Jon Willis, he's got one and I'm pretty sure he's put some demos up. I'm not sure any of the Steve Harris Fenders had a 1.75" nut, certainly the 2009 blue one I had and the MIM white model have the 1.615" nut. Another option for you could be to try and find a roadworn neck for transplant onto the body of your choice? I personally really rate the neck of a RW Precision. EDIT: That 58ri in the marketplace is verrrrry nice.

Glad the SC is working out for you Kev! I'm not jealous of your Darkglass head at all either. Not even a bit.

Met Kev this evening for him to purchase my BF super compact, all went really smoothly and it was a pleasure to meet you Kev. Enjoy the cab!

Gave up with the planet waves / d'addario NS micro tuner. Bought a TC polytune clip instead. No such problem. Apart from the fact that they announced the black version the day after I ordered it. Pah!

Not a Bass, but a 2-way courier trade I did recently on Cabs went very smoothly with UPS via interparcel.
I would advise very strongly that you do NOT do this, in fact that you do and say absolutely nothing that might imply that you felt any responsibility or liability at all. If this guy really is a scammer (for £230? sounds more like a newbie or an incompetent to me) then he'll know how to parlay your tacit admission into complete liability. Just say, as politely as you think appropriate, that there was nothing wrong with the bass when he bought it, and it sounds as if he's been scammed by a dodgy luthier. Ball --> his court.
Ma-hoo-ssive +1
I've found Gear for Music really good and always buy there if they have what I want. Customer service is brilliant if you don't like something. Speak as you find I suppose.
+1 for gear4music - ordering is all very clear and easy, pricing is usually competitive and for my orders DPD have always been the couriers who have brilliant tracking.
I'm a recent convert to Barefaced and have a Big Baby 2, which has the same driver as this. I have to say that it is a quite extraordinary cab in every respect, so I can only imagine that the Compact is as good. Lewis is also a great chap to deal with.

Pm'd
Thanks Will! and all PM's replied to.
If you are thinking of setting up a bass-related business then you should look up The Great British Bass Lounge on Facebook. Drew is a great guy and very open about his thoughts on the current state of the market.
Thanks for that, every little bit of info I can get will help..

How many times have you broken a string?
LewisK1975 replied to PaulWarning's topic in General Discussion
Twice now. 2nd time about a month ago. Dunlop Nickel 0.40. It was new too...hadn't been on the bass more than an hour; I was at a rehearsal and wasn't even playing at the time (the bass was propped up against my amp). The damn thing broke at the ball-end too. I was so pissed at the time that I took the photo below and emailed it to Dunlop. Guess what happened next? Yep, they sent me a new set of strings. Not really. Not even an acknowledgement. I don't hawk around trying to get free stuff, but this really annoyed me. Grrr. Bad Dunlop. Bad Dunlop.
Most recently was after re-stringing a bass on Saturday with Dunlop super bright steels. Bloody 0.40 broke at the ball end when I was stretching it. Never had that happen before! Been using the Nickels for a while and haven't had any such issues with those.....hmmm.
