Boss TU-3S

I would imagine they'll be knocking them out for less than a standard TU-3 if they don't sell as well as they hope. I was thinking about getting a polytune clip to shrink the pedalboard, but I really like the mute that a 'normal' tuner pedals give you, and you're right that there are now plenty of good quality smaller footprint ones around.

    Boss TU-3S
But the TU-3 would work in these circumstances, as would all the other through tuners on the market by boss, Korg etc. I don't get what gap this is filling?
I guess they thought some folks would like the idea of TU-3 reliability, but with a smaller footprint and always on. But I concur, I can't see why.
  3. I use an ABM1000 (evo3 preamp with a 1k class-d amp) with 1 or 2 super compacts at the moment. So very very good.
  4. It's a 4 string - I could be wrong on the width - but the Attitude does have a famously wide neck...
  5. Any of you fine people ever done a nut replacement on a Yamaha Attitude ltd 2?, if so where did you get the replacement nut? I'm struggling to find one! I think the nut width is 1.75in / 44mm..
  6. What a fantastic looking Bass. Top job!
  7.
Fair enough then, like the keyboard player with Iron Maiden. Its a shame but if thats what he wants.
Mike Kenney, who's also Steve Harris's bass tech, used to play the keyboards for live Maiden shows, dunno if he stil does? Back on topic, I thought Muse were effin brilliant on Friday night. Watched on telly, sound through my Denon system, excellent! Chris really is a monster player, and his signal chain and use of effects really is something special..
  8.
The output is not usually powerful enough - but crucially, by using a mixer, you can blend the two signals and mix your bass independent of the monitor engineer. "More me"
See - missed something.
  9.
The DI on the MB2 allows for pre-eq out. The jack output allows for the EQed signal out. What I would do is use the DI to send to FOH and plug the output of the MB2 to a mini mixer and also plug in the return from the foh/monitor desk into your little mixer which you use to power your headphones.
Why not just use the headphone socket on the MB2 to power your headphones? Or have I missed something (always possible!)?
  10.
The vintage grill takes care of that!

I can't see them...☺
Haha OK - what about the folks (like me) with black steel grilles? Edit: Nice setup that doomed.
  11.
.......although the Geddy looked really smart with the rosewood fingerboard
Sacrilege!!
  12.
It's landed. I now need to book a rehearsal room for two hours to break it in... Just me, my gear and some ear plugs.
Just to be super fussy, does anyone else wish they'd use black screws/bolts to hold the speakers in?
  13. Funny how peoples experience can be so different, I've done a few deals there, buying outright, PX'ing, warranty repairs, never had any issues with Mark or Marcus. Both of them know their stuff and will give you good honest advice. I've never been in there and told I was wrong for wanting something. I also find them excellent at email communication, they always reply really quickly with any queries I've had..
Some very opposing recollections on here. I think if I got asked why I wanted a 4 as well as a 5 string, well, I'd say it was my choice. IME there is a difference in the E tone on a 4 and 5 string, and a HUGE feel difference.
And I bet if you told Mark that, he'd be fine with it. Whilst I agree that they dont suck up to you just becasue you may spend some money there, I don't mind that at all, I find the whole smarmy sales technique more off-putting if anything..I'm happy to have my ideas challenged, it's healthy! And you never know, you might learn something new!
  14. Well, it's 'out for delivery'. Hold on to your hats chaps. As it happens I think I happened to come across the previous owner last night on youtube. I was getting myself all excited by seaching 'Fender Geddy Lee USA' and this popped up: https://www.youtube....h?v=47HYzQ5PMNo This chap (great player by the way) has done a bunch of youtube playalong vids, in some of which I believe he's using this very bass I'm waiting to be delivered. There are certain standout woodgrains on the headstock and I compared the vid with the Bass Direct pictures and I'm sure it's the same one.
  15. Fair enough Kev, consider my handbag firmly put away! Apologies..
  16.
I'm not sure he was, it came across to me that he was just shocked that it left the factory with the wrong neck on for the model. Cool bass though and a cool little story to go with it, a non-custom shop custom Fender! Grats!
That's true, I did obviously read it that Kev was 'speechless' that I'd gone ahead and bought it, having had confirmation that it was a factory error. If I'm wrong, then I'll put me handbag away!
  17. SR500's look to be around £485 new atm so it's about right for one in decent condition. I'm guessing it's the one in Liverpool, it looks in OK nick, can see one bump near the bridge and possibly one on the arm chamfer..he does however say it is 'an instrument with character', so I'd give it a good look over... Plus it has a case too. If it's what you have in mind, I'd say go and try it out, and if you like it, why not make a cash offer there and then? Worst he can say is no..
  18. I was always a Precision nut, but loved the sound of a Jazz every time I heard one. Now got 3 Jazzes and 2 Precisions. Use whichever I feel like!
  19.
Speechless.
Why's that Kev? You wouldn't buy it, OK fine, each to their own.. Here's why I bought it - Not that I have to justify spending my own money on whatever I want to anyone, but when they brought these out, my first thought was if they had done it with black blocks and binding, I'd be moving heaven and earth to get one. That's why this one sparked my interest. I did my research, got written confirmation from Fender that it's all genuine parts, with the only difference between a 'to spec' one and this one being the different blocks and binding. So I get what I wanted in the first place, straight from the factory. I'm happy. It didn't cost you anything. No need to rain on my parade.
  20.
Classic and Cool Guitars!! That's the one, thanks heaps. Mansons is also on the list, so that was also a good shout. I appreciate the help everyone! They even have a Sandberg VM4... I might be in trouble...
Yes - they have a natural VM4 with black hardware and black block inlays - Phwoar!
  21. Yep - enjoyed that - I got a laid back Verve vibe from it.
  22. OK so I got a reply from Fender - they confirmed that it is indeed a factory mess up, the bass was built while the special run of crimson red ones were being made and someone has put a neck for a crimson red bass onto a black body. That makes it 'one of a kind' in my book. I'm having it.
  23. I'd go for something like this.. http://www.gear4musi...XOWkhoC_kzw_wcB or http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Ampeg-BA-108-Bass-Combo-Amp-V2/ZSS
  24.
Looks like a proper mid-70s Jazz Bass to me, going by the colour scheme and bullet truss rod. Not a reissue.
+1
