TU-3 for me. Depends on if you're looking for it to do more than just be a good tuner. I'd expect there to be plenty of YouTube vid demos for the most popular ones available. Wouldn't normally recommend youtube for forming an opinion but in this case there's no sound to judge..it's all visual.

The best advice for this is really to try different orders and see what YOU like. It's actually great fun if you've got the time and you'll almost certainly learn a few things on the way..

These sort of threads (whilst sometimes interesting to read for the occasional pearls of wisdom/knowledge) are farcical really. We all have things we like and things we don't like. What a dreadfully boring world it would be if we all liked/disliked the same thing. And for anyone wondering my rig is all lightweight, PUMA500 and 2 Barefaced supercompacts. I personally am very happy with my setup - someone else might think it sounds rubbish. That's fine, it's ME who has to be happy with MY setup. Opinions are like private parts, everyone has them but when you start waving them in people's faces people don't generally like it!! Rant over!
A good sound is obviously important, but how important it is to "Joe Public" Do they notice the intricacies, or do they just enjoy the songs aslong as they can hear the singing? I do wonder.....
Yup - thought the same for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. We usually have a few people we know at most of our gigs who are muso's and they might offer a bit more when it comes to FOH sound, but IME the average punter is only concerned if they can't hear the singer properly..

er.... I've just gone and bought this!! Hope I like it!!!

All the best with it - it looks amazing - been toying with getting a fretless myself, prob wouldn't spend that much tho! Good luck with it.. -
Yup - normal for that age / model. And a really nice example too. MUST. NOT. BUY. ANY. MORE. BASSES.

Not a user of TC cabs or MarkBass heads, but I'd say you can use those safely together - True that the combined rated power of the cabs will be 400 watts at 4ohms, and the amp is able to put out 500 watts at 4ohm. But it would be fine - just dont turn the amp all the way up! I actually know a chap who uses a single RS112 with a TC RH750 head all the time. Certainly IMHO though, 2 of them with the LM2 should be plenty loud enough in a band setting.

Turned up today would you believe! Awesome! 12 calendar days from order placed to delivery. Incl. 2 weekends. Cool!

I've got the 7 version of this: - http://www.amazon.co...QK6J1YXDTZ9DG2M nice and cheap and works a treat - I dont move it anywhere mind - just home static use. Little bit fiddly to put together.
Wow, I thought was getting a bargain at three fiddy!
Yeah I definitely got lucky. Guy just wanted rid and it was grubby and poorly setup. Few hours and some new strings on it and it ended up sweet!

Cool thanks HH, guess it can't have been too much of a wait then..logging in and checking the order status every day doesn't help!
-
There is a post from 14/7/15 saying 2-3 weeks turnaround at the moment but also says (with a comedy picture!) that they are heaving at the moment. No bad thing, good to see they're busy...guess I'll just have to wait!
-
Cheers Matt, hadn't thought of that - didn't think there were many companies left now that had a full summer shutdown..
Get one with a sweepable mid range - it can be extremely useful in some situations to get rid of some nasty feedback (and/or honking on the brass mics especially) - unless you have a big graphic EQ (i.e. 15 - 30, not 6 or 7 bands) and one with built in FX saves you another bit of kit to buy.
+1 for the passive mixer / powered speakers. Good advice here about the sweepable / semi-parametric mid too. We were having hellish issues with low frequency feedback until we worked out how to use the sweepable mid. Oh the joy of working that one out. For reference we are using a Behringer mixer - Some people scoff at these but they are really good value for what you get...Mackie subs and JBL tops.

Hey All - anyone had recent orders with roqsolid? Just wondering what the turn times are like presently? Ordered and paid 10 days ago, but my order status still just says 'processing'. Maybe I'm just impatient! Ha!
I'd have thought the Big Twin II ticks all of your boxes... Or two Big Baby IIs for the modular version
yup. 4ohms, so just flip your switch on the rear of the blacksmith to 4ohms+, plug in and off you go. Bet it would sound AMAZING.
-
I think you need to post up good pictures of the rear panel of both the amp and cab. Then you'll get a definitive answer on here within moments!
Not normal no (whatever that means for a 70s Fender ), but here's another 1976 P with a similarly placed logo - https://reverb.com/i...bass-1976-black Normal would be more like this - http://www.vintagean...6-Natural-46183
Yes this is what I thought, of the two 70's Precisions I've owned (both 78's) neither of them were that poorly placed. Good to know it's not unusual though!
-
Just come across this online - Wondering if this could be considered normal from a 70's Fender? Part of the Logo is actually under the string tree! BTW I am not suggesting in any way, shape or form that this is not a genuine Fender, before anyone launches into me! (I blacked out the full serial)

Just got a 2004 USA Musicman SUB 5 string for £200. A Bargain by any stretch of the imagination.
Quite a bit cheaper when bought direct .
Yep £479 delivered from Barefaced Direct - Of course you might have to wait a bit longer, but I think Alex & co. are now turning orders faster than ever before...

Anyone using D'addario XL165 nickel wounds?
LewisK1975 replied to bassbiscuits's topic in Bass Guitars
Tried a few different sets on my Sandberg VM5 and EXL165-5's are the ones I've settled on. 45-65-85-105 and a stunning non-tapered 135 for the Low B. Great strings!
