1. Not owner feedback sorry - What's the difference between the big bang and a LMIII? All I can see is an Aux in and a headphone out with a level control, and a red paint job. Doesn't seem much extra when you can get the LMIII for around £400 mark now..
 2. So I used the cabs for the first time on Saturday night, Long narrow room, band set up at one end.. It's certainly the 'clearest' I've ever heard my sound - Also I guess the super compacts will get even better as they break in.. It's no joke, you could here everything, even next to my drummer, who is very loud when he needs/wants to be! The funniest thing was that during passages of certain songs I use a bit of distortion with a flanger on top, I've always done it, but after the gig on Saturday night, the guitar player mentions during the pack down, 'Wow you really took over that section of the song tonight didn't you!' Like is said over and over by Barefaced users - Whatever you put in to them, comes out! Loud and clear! Still undecided if I want to change the amp tho - I'll do a few more gigs with the EVOii first, then see how I feel. My trouble is, probably like many of us, when I start 'GAS'ing for something - its very rare that I don't buy something.... I contacted Marcus at Bass Direct and he's happy for me to bring a super compact and my own bass to the shop and try whatever heads I like with it..lets face it, it's gonna happen, just a matter of 'when' and 'what'!
It's not that bad! More importantly tho, how did you like the sound?
It's certainly the 'clearest' I've ever heard my sound - Also I guess the super compacts will get even better as they break in.. It's no joke, you could here everything, even next to my drummer, who is very loud when he needs/wants to be! 4.
prefer a warmer sound, having said that, I do like that the berg (with a GB shuttle 9.2 head) gives out what I put in.
If its totally uncoloured sound you're after - I know they aren't cheap, but you won't go wrong with a Barefaced Super compact. At £549 they are in the ball park of some of the other boutique type cabs. I have 2 of them and I promise you that you wont be disappointed...
 5. Thanks Greg - Mine were delivered after 3 weeks too. Happy Guy!!
 6.
IMO the Barefaced Retro Two10 is a good idea. Email Alex at Bearfaced and he'll tell you if it will or won't work.
+1 - Alex will ask you the right questions and tell you if the retro 210 will work for you or not. I've just had 2 super compacts from him and I couldn't be happier. Extremely lightweight and sound incredible.
Great, let me know... I've kind of got GAS for a Rumble Combo... probably never need the extension cab, but if I do get one I'd want it to match the combo... my OCD won't allow otherwise...
Ha I know what you mean - My OCD was kicking in on the weekend when I plopped my Ashdown ABM evoii on top of my new Barefaced super compacts. Amp was 1/2in wider than the cabs either side. Unless I change the amp, I guess the cabs will be going on their side from now on, but then the Barefaced logo won't be face up!
 8. Great news! I had some Bikes nicked from my shed once and they turned up in my local crack converters. Took a while with the Police faffing around but I got them back in the end..I think having a couple of close relations in the force helped things along a little....
 9. Yeah it's obvious that any manufacturing time issues are well and truly behind them - my 2 SC's took 3 weeks and 2 days from paying the deposit to being delivered!, including the easter break. Alex quoted me 2/3 weeks and he delivered!
Trust me, an EVO II through two Super Compacts is an incredible sound Let us know how you get on!
Will do Merton! Gonna fire them up tonight at home (not for long - I get on with my neighbours at the moment!!) Really looking forward to hearing them at gig volume tomorrow night tho! Pictures will be taken!
 10. First gig with my super compacts will be this weekend - trying them with my ashdown abm evo ii for a few gigs at first, then I'll decide if I need / want to change the amp to a lightweight. Seems silly that the amp head actually weighs more than one of the cabs!!
 11. My 2 super compacts arrived today! Still boxed at the moment, cant wait to get them home!
 12. Not helping the GAS here! - I'm waiting on delivery of 2 super compacts!!
 13. Agreed on all of the above - I've got a sunburst 50's RW precision and I love it!
 14.
Let us know how the ABM sounds with them and if you want/need to change amp then you have a good reference point!
Top advice thanks Alex - at the moment, It's definitely more of a 'want' to change rather than need (I guess I'll find out if I 'need' to change after a few gigs using the Super Compacts with the ABM) I think my main concern is that my ABM is the 300watt version, and I'm a little concerned about that not being enough to drive the cabs effectively.. If I'm completely honest though, having new cabs coming soon gives me serious GAS for a new amp!
 15.
Consider something with a semi para mid control and/or hi-mid and lo-mid control. I found the midrange adjustments on that cab make a big difference. Because it lacks a tweeter and highs over 4k, it can end up sounding a little boxy at low volumes, particularly when new. As it breaks in, it opens up a bit. At volume, it also evens out. I've got a Shuttle 9.0. I also use a Tonehammer pedal into the power section of that amp, so I effectively have a Tonehammer amp (I've heard the power amps are identical). I also have had great luck with a Mesa Buster if you feel like toting around a 200w tube head I'm currently considering snagging a GK MB or even RB head, but only because I have more money than talent.
Thanks for that - I should have the cabs shortly (just heard from Alex), so I think I'll wait and take them with me on a visit to Bass Direct or somewhere like that and try a few different heads with them. I guess you're right though, having as much control over the mids as possible is going to be very important with cabs of this quality, being very 'true' and all that..perhaps I should even consider something like that new ashdown retroglide - which just has the input / gain, a 12-band graphic, then 800watt class D ouptut. Decisions, decisions...
 16. Just to keep this up to date - got a message from Alex last night saying one of my cabs is nearly ready and the other a couple of days behind. Alex told me in the initial emails I exchanged with him that I'd be looking at a couple of weeks wait and it's been 15 days since I paid my deposit. Pretty accurate I'd say! Excited much? Indeed!!
 17.
Read, then buy.....
If I didn't have 2 super compacts on order I'd be on the Motorway now! I bloody knew this would happen!
 18.
A carvin BX series will power the cabs with headroom to spare, I have a BX1600 for sale if that's any interest
Thanks for the offer, great amp for sure but I'm looking to downsize and those, whilst lightweight, are bigger than i'm looking for. Thanks again tho.
 19. +1 for the MXR M87 - its got all the control you'll need and is very transparent (and small!) There's a new one coming from Keeley too which is supposed to be very good: https://robertkeeley...-pro-namm-2015/ Billy Sheehan is a true compression guru and he's raving about this one!
 20.
I think you've got to hear the amps before you decide.
I know you're right Chris - it's just that i'm not sure the Bass Terror's that the shops have in stock are going to be around for very long at that price! I'll have to get my arse somewhere and try one sharpish I think! Day off work coming I think!
 21.
The correct answer is, it depends ...
True indeed Happy Jack - was just thinking I should give a bit more info / detail about my other gear etc... In my band I mainly play a 5 string Jazz, but also use a 4 string Jazz and 4 String P basses too if/when necessary. The music is up-to-date pop stuff mainly - mainly fingerstyle, bit of slap here and there (uptown funk!) Also use a splash of dirt here and there (EBS Billy sheehan pedal), chorus (just a smidge and usually left on), Flanger here and there, and lastly the MXR M87 compressor before the amp.. Think thats it!
 22. Hey all, got 2 Barefaced Super compacts coming soon - and I'm going to be looking to change my amp too. Alex advised me to carry on using my Ashdown ABM evoii for a few gigs after getting the compacts to better judge what I would/could change to - sound advice indeed. I intend to do this but I've seen over the weekend that the Orange Terror Bass 500 has come down in price to £349! Very tempted to just pull the trigger on one - anyone used one with a G3 super compact, or indeed a pair of super compacts? For info I'm particularly looking for a head which I could use with either one or both cabs - some of the venues I play definitely wont need a pair! Others I've considered are the LittleMark 3 and the Tecamp 500 - any advice from other Barefaced users greatly appreciated! Cheers!
 23. I'll be watching this thread closely! OP has the same dilemma as I'll have when I get my 2 Barefaced Super compacts!
 24.
I said it would be only a couple of weeks or so when he ordered and nothing has changed! I thought he was asking others to see how long they waited?
That's right Alex, I was only trying to find out how long others had waited in recent times. Like I repeatedly pointed out, I'm not complaining about waiting at all. To be clear, I only ordered and paid my deposit 10 days ago. I'm just excited to get the cabs! But thanks for replying anyway Alex.
