Don't quite get why he needs the break the neck before running everything through the bandsaw. Just feels a bit, I dunno, wanton? -

Hah 😁

As long as you're having fun, that's a great sign. All I'd say is practice one finger per fret as much as possible 👍🏻

How are you getting on with this one?

Getting there fella! 👊🏻

The fella narrating this video certainly agrees with the tax writeoff theory and it does the most likely reason. Worst bit of that video is watching the neck stamp on a Pelham blue 335 in the factory demolition. Monsters. -

Sure there are plenty of music schools who would have been grateful if Gibson (or whoever mashed them up) donated them instead. Better publicity too. -
That is weird! Tbh, I wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't said anything and I had to literally sniff the pickups, so it'll definitely fade.
-
@Ed_S well, I never thought I'd say this, but I just had a sniff of the pickups on my TT4 (which is about 1 year old) and they smell a bit like TCP..? My two older Sandys both smell of nowt.
-
+1 I've got one too and love it, absolute player. Funnily enough, in my last funk and soul band I was struggling to get a suitable tone with my Sandbergs so took my corvette and it sounded immense.

Jesus, I hope they're not selling anything from the toilets...

Cheers. I do totally understand where you're coming from, it's just that this type of direct and honest (as well as free) feedback is worth it's weight in gold. In my last role, one of our businesses provided customer service for a number of high profile clients in the transport industry. When we did our quarterly review of customer feedback, we actively looked for the negative in order to understand where we were going wrong so we could make the necessary improvements. Nobody took it personally (unless it was aimed at a specific agent) as its seen as fundamental to business development and improvement of customer services. In regards to the LBGS, if there is a significant drop in ticket sales for the bass show (I'm not saying there will be, just hypothetically) , the feedback received from this site (as well as others no doubt) will help inform the organisers of why and what needs to be done to rectify next year.
-
With respect, I'm not seeing anyone being rude (although there are now 8 pages of comments, so there may be some examples?), what I'm seeing is honest feedback from the Shows key demographic to a significant change in their key offering. If there is an overwhelming trend towards the negative in the feedback received, this should be a cause for concern within any organisation. This is the sort of information most organisations would dream of receiving and often pay handsomely for, as it highlights areas for improvement and response to changes.

Haha brilliant 😁 I look at it more like a piece of the Berlin Wall, which you can also get on the Bay. This one is £95, but there are smaller pieces for a lot less - https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F323837548836

No need to hide that new purchase anymore
DoubleOhStephan replied to oldslapper's topic in General Discussion
It wasn't. Most (if not all) of what's been written in these posts is just self-depreciating banter, I'm sure most of the commentators are poking fun at themselves more than their partners (using the old 'er indoors" line) and wouldn't have a problem "owning up" to a new purchase. There is however a much darker side, as actually having to hide one's spending can be the type of behaviour exhibited in an abusive relationship (from relate) - https://www.relate.org.uk/relationship-help/help-separation-and-divorce/preventing-harm/abusive-relationships Types of abuse Abuse can be: Physical, with behaviour such as pushing, hitting or throwing things. Verbal, where one partner constantly puts down the other or shouts. Controlling, where one partner exerts control over the other, perhaps sexually or financially. In any relationship, whatever your sexuality, age, income, or background. Its extremely difficult for an abused partner to leave an abusive relationship through fear of (though not limited to) retribution, fear of being alone, commitment to family (kids usually, though also extended family), financial commitment (mortgage etc). Mine too, although I've been in relationships in the past where this wasn't the case. -
I've always known it as "I haven't got a Scooby" (Scooby Doo / Clue) 😁
