  1. Apparently it short for Web Log..?! πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
  2. I'll bet it wasn't mate πŸ‘πŸ» Let's have it!!!
  3. @skankdelvar I'm going to have to insist that you start writing a blog. Do it. Do it now.
  4. Yeah I've had a very similar response to a car ad earlier in the year. Total scam
  5. Hahaha I don't know dude, maybe because we disagree on whether strikers are better than defenders at taking penalties? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ No, it's a genuine question, I'm genuinely interested. I've tried to phrase it from an unbiased perspective not to influence your response. Full disclosure, I'm not fan either (mainly due to being influenced by Jordan Peterson ((and others)) views on their censorship), but would like to hear others perspectives on it. Maybe this should be its own thread, I don't want to derail this one..?
  6. +1 for Cover Solutions, lots of variety, often he'll have two versions too, one with backing track, one isolated bass. Just out of interest, when do you have an issue with Patroen?
  7. Yeah I've noticed that too. Janet Jackson was almost inaudible, even when she switched to a standard mic. Tbh, I don't think any of the vocals I've heard (and I've only dipped in and out of the coverage) have been very impressive. The bands sound great, vocals have been meh
  8. Dammit, you've had me waiting all day for a no!?!? πŸ˜‚ Looking forward to hearing it, any ideas when & where you'll be gigging?
  9. Could be worth giving Spotify a look. They have some useful features (such as artist radio and user playlists) as well as the usual genres and "moods". Artist radio is great if you have a fav band as it will play songs by similar artists (Eg brand new heavies, incognito, jamiroqui etc). I've found new (to me) bands this way. User playlists are great too as tend to be more taste based (as opposed to genre), so a funk and soul play list can throw up loads of new bands never heard before which may be outside the classic definition of the genre (as per @barking spiders example with FNM). Once you've found a new band you like, the artist radio can then open up another load of bands to explore. Another option is dab radio. Since I got my new car I listen to a few channels which are much more genre specific, such as MiSoul, which has introduced me to new music.
  10. Living the dream! Any tunes online you can share, music sounds bang on! πŸ‘πŸ»
  11. The V is in there, I think someone mentioned earlier in the thread that the they didn't trademark it until 2000/10ish and the shape has been being used since the 70s.
  12. Its all a bit weird, can't see how Gibson have a case!?
  13. Here's what Gibson are claiming for - At issue are Gibson’s Flying V body shape design (US registration number 2051790), its Explorer body shape design (US registration number 2053805), its ES body shape design (US registration number 2007277), its HUMMINGBIRD (US registration number 1931670), and its MODERNE (US registration number 3588609) registrations. https://www.trademarksandbrandsonline.com/news/gibson-sues-armadillo-over-guitar-trademarks-5462
  14. Its not the headstock shape that Gibson are sueing over, it's the V & Z body shape. Fwiw, Dean have told them to shove it, saying they've been making those body shapes since the 70s. Be interesting to see the outcome of all this.
  15. Gibson aren't actually suing in regards to the Les Paul though - Gibson has reportedly filed a multimillion dollar lawsuit against Armadillo Enterprises, the parent company of Dean Guitars and Luna Guitars. In the lawsuit, which was first reported by Guitar.com, Gibson alleges trademark infringement, trademark counterfeiting, unfair competition and trademark dilution on the part of Armadillo. Particularly, Gibson says Armadillo has run afoul of its Flying V, Explorer, ES and SG, "Dove Wing" headstock design, "Hummingbird" name and "Moderne" trademarks.
  16. Not directly related but speaking of trademarks & lawsuits, this was in the news today - Adidas loses three-stripe trademark battle in European Court https://www.theguardian.com/law/2019/jun/19/adidas-loses-three-stripe-trademark-battle-in-european-court
  17. Seems the warnings were genuine... https://reverb.com/news/gibson-files-a-trademark-lawsuit-against-dean-and-luna-guitars?utm_campaign=gibsonsue&utm_content={{ad.id&utm_medium=organic&utm_source=fb
  18. Nice! White for me, although I'd be tempted to get a mint green one 😬
  19. 60s reissue with P pup & KiOgon 62 stacked knobs & wiring loom.
  20. Looks to be a small misreading of the ad. I did the same, read "Bass side" as "Bass" and thought that seemed to be too cheap. Given its a guitar tuner the price is about right
  21. Maybe. He's got a lot of guitar parts for sale at the "right" price, could be he's got hold of a job lot of old stock and is selling on cheap?
  22. One of the most obvious tells on these cheapo basses is the way the black of the burst covers the forearm contour as opposed to remaining close to the body edge on ALL Fenders. I don't know for sure but I assume it's to disguise that the body is made of ply.
  23. One of the greatest films of all time!! School of Rock!! The bit when Jack Black is talking to the class about musical influences - Dewey: Look, the first thing you do when you start a rock band is talk about your influences. That's how you figure out what kind of band to be. So who do you like? Blondie? Marta: Christina Aguilera. Dewey: Who? No! Come on. What? You, Shortstop. Leonard: Puff Daddy. Dewey: Wrong. Billy? Billy: Liza Minnelli? Dewey: What are you...? You guys! This project is called "Rock Band". I'm talking about bands that rock. Led Zeppelin. [the class gives him blank stares] Don't tell me you guys have never got the Led out. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant? Ring any bells? What about Sabbath? AC/DC? MotΓΆrhead? Oh, what do they teach in this place?!
