1. It might be worth using a reverse image search engine like tineye to see if he possibly obtained the broken guitar photos from the internet. Doesn't help you if he's bought a cheap copy guitar and broken it himself, but it narrows down the possibilities at least. S.P.
 2. I'd add another vote for Electro Music in Doncaster. Lincoln had a couple of decent music shops, once upon a time, but I'd steer well clear of it now. S.P.
I've just started work as a FOH engineer in a small club with small time bands...and I do get it very often from the band who are stood BEHIND the FOH saying that they can't hear this and that...it's really frustrating as what I'm hearing from the FOH is a well balanced mix.
I'd interpret that as meaning that they were asking for you to make adjustments to the monitor mix. S.P.
 4. How long had your previous set of strings been on? It may be that it was the strings, not the setup, that made the majority of the difference. S.P.
 5.
I'm sorry,it's great that you're locking with the new drummer, but I really have a problem with referring to them as 'Knuckle draggers' and 'Neanderthals',even if it is in jest. Like I've said many times before, many of the best musicians that I know are drummers.
Eh, I'd let it go. It's just part of the superiority complex that is so prevalent in bass players. S.P.
 6. On the broad subject of cats, I think you'll all get a kick out of this video. S.P.
 7. Great song, as Paul S just said, I could see this coming from the Foo Fighters. S.P.
 8. The 400W is a thermal power limit, and isn't really a useful figure. There might be a problem with the cab, or it might be that it just can't handle that much power in the low frequencies. The way to find this out would be to adjust your EQ for a less bassy sound and see if the problem persists. S.P.
 9. When your STBEW is not looking, you should empty her suitcases, tip her clothes in the bin, and repack them with cats instead. She won't realise until she gets to her new place. S.P.
 10.
Just a note to say that the standard cover comes with the opening on the long end, i.e you have to put the cover on when its lying sideways. I would have personally prefered it to go on when sitting vertically but still, semantics I guess, it will do the job nicely.
I would have thought it makes more sense to have the opening on the long end. If you're carrying it in the rain, surely it's better to have the opening pointing downwards than pointing backwards? I admit it means that you have to lay the cab down before you can put the cover on, but that seems a small inconvenience to bear. S.P.
 11.
The placebo effect is a wonderful thing, though a bit expensive at their prices.
Ah, but that's the point. The more expensive the cables, the stronger the placebo effect becomes. S.P.
 12.
It would make an interesting research project - why so many musicians are utter scumbags. I've had it more than once - being treated like dirt by some complete idiot.
Bog off, w***pile. S.P.
 13. 24 conductors? Sounds like they were too cheap to put 36 in. S.P.
 14.
Although thats a fair point , I have been mucked about by 6 bands this year alone, I've wasted hours upon hours learning songs , half of which I 'm not really that fussed about. To use the employment analogy I would be asking myself if this career was really meant for me as there seems to be something not working. This is where I'm at now.
So what you're saying is you should retrain as a flautist? S.P.
 15.
Truth #3 - You will never blow woofers or mid-bass drivers, i.e. the 8"/10"/12"/15"/18" speakers found in a bass cab, because your amp isn't powerful enough.
Heh, I misread this initially as having meaning synonymous to "no amp is powerful enough to blow woofers or mid-bass drivers". Which is clearly nonsense, but that second comma does introduce a certain ambiguity. S.P.
 16.
Even worse again, what if all the age requirements get straightened out, but then after the audition they accidently get hit in the face with a wonky frying pan, thus reneging on the "image" clause?
Fortunately, there's no danger of that happening to me, as I've been ugly as sin since birth. S.P.
 17. In Soviet Russia, guitar solo butchers you! S.P.
 18.
What if the best bass player to suit your band is 28 or 29, or even female? Will you turn him or her down? Just askin'
Even worse, what if the best player to suit their band is male and 27 years old, but their 28th birthday is in the next 2 months? Not really worth going for auditions if you're going to be fired a few weeks later, is it? S.P.
 19. Blogspam - this was originally posted here. S.P.

 21.
some pics removed coz of space restrictions
I suggest shrinking your images before you upload them. If they are 1024 pixels on their longest side, there will still be plenty of detail for viewing on the screen, but you'll save a whole heap of megabytes. They'll be quicker to upload too. S.P.
 22. Lots of people round here use obbm's cables. I think they'd probably suit you nicely. Website. S.P.
 23. Yeah, there's another thread here - seems that it's fairly common for experiences with Silverstone to be somewhat disappointing. S.P.
 24.
Do these people actually exist?
Well, if they don't, then that's an even stronger reason not to use them. S.P.
 25.
Apply for it using a different email , or get someone else to do it and see what happens.
Definitely. And then when they reply to your email saying "Sorry mate, this is an old advert, we're happy with our current bass player" then you won't have made a tit of yourself. S.P.
