This is weird but you might consider that you're not the one messing up. Maybe it's the other two?
This thought had occurred to me as well. Maybe not necessarily that they are messing up, exactly, but they are playing something subtly different which is interfering with your cues. S.P.
 2. I think that your guitarist has probably been looking for a way out for a long time, but has been doing his best to convince himself otherwise - that's why he was so active at your last band meeting. He was trying to rekindle his own desire to be in the band. But clearly there was nothing left to build on. That's the way it goes, sometimes. S.P.
 3. I like my Korg Pitchblack. It's a pedal tuner. You might like it too. Then again, you might not. S.P.
 4.
However, you can't expect to rehearse to a sufficient standard if you're going to stick doggedly to your one rehearsal a month and, sorry to be blunt, but you're going to limit your appeal to potential new members in doing so.
I interpreted the original post as meaning that they played gigs once a month, though I agree that it's vague. peety: please clarify. S.P.
 5.
But that brings up two issues: Firstly how much hearing protection do the IEMs provide? And secondly, how coloured is the leakage - the last thing I'd want is the treble-less boomy leakage you get through non-filtered earplugs!
The answer is, it depends. For best results, you'd want an IEM system that works in conjunction with your desired moulded musicians' earplugs. You'd then choose the earplugs that give you the ideal attenuation and frequency response. S.P.
 6.
How will you hear the rest of the band?
S.P.
 7.
If I used in-ears I'd want to have a full mix of the whole band - I don't just want to hear my bass (and never have a problem with that anyway) I want to hear the music we're creating and fit my playing to that (not just what notes I play but how I play them).
The theory is that you set the level of your bass in the in-ears so that it blends nicely with the sound that's leaking through the earplugs. If you're hearing too much bass, at the expense of everything else, then you just turn the volume of your IEMs down. S.P.
 8.
You will find it very difficult to improve on the system you have now: it's close to state-of-the-art IMO.
Do you think so? I would expect him to get much better results if he transplanted the speakers into a cabinet that was designed specifically for them. S.P.
 9.
(we originally said 11am but we will now be ready to start from 10am)
Hmmm, looks like I'm going to be a little late then. S.P.
 10.
iGig cases are awesome. Best cases I've used by a mile.
Yeah, but you're endorsed by them. And as far as I can see, there's no way to buy them - there's not even any way to find out how much they cost - without emailing the guy who owns the company. S.P.
 11.
...as stickers won't stick to the textured finish I'd like marks out of ten and a signature on the back from everyone who tries it...
I wonder how many people have been doing this. S.P.
 12.
Have weighed the new Compact and thanks to the magic composite ply it comes in at 26lb or 12kg.
No-one else seems to have made this joke, so I think I will... How much would it cost to get the new ply retrofitted onto my Compact? S.P.
 13.
Find out when they're playing next. Go to gig. Take his bass (if he leaves it on stage)...and say you are keeping it until the money is returned to you. Technically not theft.
Are you sure? S.P.
 14. Send an envoy round. S.P.
 15. Arguably, a wiki page would have been a better way of maintaining the list of attendees. Then all the numbering would be automatic, and there would be one master list that everyone could edit. S.P.
 16.
Only if she was barefoot and empty of wardrobe at the time.
See, it's not just technical gubbins and jargon with the Clabe. You get wry analogy too. S.P.
 17.
Most confusing model name ever?
It certainly will be in 25 years time. S.P.
 18. This one (not really - my serious answer to your question would be my current cab, the Barefaced Compact. It's loud, light, and fits in the boot of my car without needing to fold the seats forward). S.P.
 19. I was once doing this gig, and there was a drunk guy up on the balcony behaving like a pillock. Meanwhile, there's this other drunk guy who is climbing up onto the stage to make trouble. So I grabbed the guy in front of me with my right hand, and threw him up onto the balcony. I aimed him so that his head would hit the head of the guy up on the balcony. Sure enough, both of them instantly knocked out. Didn't miss a note, everyone cheered, went home with 3 hot girlies. Good times. S.P.
 20. I'm not convinced that you'd be able to sell many - do bear in mind that part of the reason why Barefaced bass cabs have sold so well is that you are an established member of this forum, you had a forum thread running while you built the prototypes, and there's a lot of word-of-mouth recommendation flowing around here. To my knowledge, you don't have that kind of head start in the guitar cab world. Bear in mind also that your first prototype was for personal use. If you're building a guitar cab, you'd need to be fairly sure that you'd be able to get a buyer for your prototype. S.P.
 21. Couple of older threads on the same subject here and here. S.P.
 22.
No, but my girlfriend had an odd one the other day: She took a mix CD into work (she's a drama teacher) to stick on while something or other was going on, and one of the kids was surprised when she told them it was several different bands because he thought they all sounded similar. My girlfriend was busy telling her that there's nothing similar about the tunes on this CD when another lad - who plays bass - piped up and said "It's because they've all got good bass lines, Miss".
...that kid's going to get an A in drama. S.P.
 23. Wikipedia says Charles Larkey S.P.
 24.
I do quite like the look of the Hartke LH500. Fired an email off to them, but not heard back, to find out if the XLR direct out is pre or post eq. Don't really want what I do for monitoring to affect the signal I send to the PA cos' the bass sounds really good through the PA. Do any of you know about the direct out ?
LH500 is a great amp. The XLR out is pre-EQ, pre-volume. You can read the manual here. S.P.
 25.
So now to my main question, which I would very much appreciate some advice on. Do I just get them to collect it and put it down to experience, or do I spend the next month (maybe longer) trying to get it sorted out? It's a really nice bass, but where do I draw the line?
Send it back for a refund. It was not meant to be. S.P.
