1.
P.S-- I was looking to spend no more than about £450. I am low on the cash
Barefaced Compact, £425 including delivery. S.P.
 2.
Get back in tha woodshed and work those grooves until it's sounding bad, mmmkay?
My playing already sounds bad. Does that mean I can come out of the shed now? S.P.
 3. I thought it would probably be at 4 ohms, but this is their FAQ page and I'm not sure if I can entirely decipher it. S.P.
 4.
My stepson's band has just been 'signed' by a major label, but it is a 'production' deal and they are being given £150k I have asked him what are the terms, what's in the fine print, but have had vague answers. Anyone out there know what a 'production' deal means?
see here. S.P.
 5.
Or electronic bank transfer or cheque or postal order ...
Indeed. Or invite trades. You're looking for a head and cab, and you've got stuff to spare. Seems like a no-brainer. You'll get an amp for, effectively, nothing, and some other lucky sod will get a bass for, effectively, nothing. S.P.
 6.
I can order Chord Company Cream cables at a discount price....PM me for details. http://www.chord.co.uk/cream/index.htm
RRP £50 for a 3m cable? (here too) That seems a bit... steep. S.P.
 7.
I want to, it really needs an owner but I often ask does anyone want it and how do I sell it? If I put it up for sale here I have no PayPal account...*sigh*.
Put an ad in the "for sale" section here. Either get a PayPal account, or specify that you will only accept cash on collection. It will reduce the size of your market, and probably the amount that you can get for it, but at least you'll manage to shift it. Another option is gumtree. S.P.
 8.
re. the bit in the OP about home recordings. The band with 'CCTV' in one of their album titles, lists where the ablum tracks were recorded, and it was mostly home done, but professionally mastered.
Hard-Fi? Stars Of CCTV is the album that I think you are referring to. S.P.
 9. That's not loads at all. I also have 4 basses, and 2 guitars (to your 3) but I don't consider that to be excessive. If you do want to get rid of something, then sell the Yamaha and the Squier. Play the Ibanez more and stop worrying about damaging it. It's a guitar, not a small crystal dolphin statue. S.P.
 10.
Or, do it the way I always do it. Sit the guy down in a pub, buy him a pint, tell him that you don't like doing what you're about to do, and then prepare to be the bad guy. Don't mince words, be honest (not brutally honest), tell him straight that you've all decided he's out. Refuse to discuss anything like who's replacing him or whatnot, just make it clear that you think he's a great guy and a fine musician, but your band needs a different kind of drummer and that's it. Then leave quickly, pretty much before he can get a chance to say anything or try to bargain or anything else pathetic or whatnot. All he needs to know is he's out, you all agree and it's nothing personal.
Interesting. Does this mean that you should buy him a pint, but not one for yourself? Or should you leave a nearly-full pint on the table? Perhaps you should get yourself a whiskey instead? Your method of jettisoning the drummer is interesting too, don't get me wrong, but the stuff about the beer is just too important to leave unresolved. S.P.
 11. If what your friend says is true, then the music industry is in even worse condition that I thought. Once upon a time they would put a lot of effort into promoting bands, and take all the profit for themselves. But what your friend has described suggests that they still want the profit, but they want the band to do all the hard work themselves. I don't know why anyone would even want to be signed to a major any more. S.P.
 12.
There are some UK dealers listed here.
Hmmm, none of the shops are close to me, and none of the online stores list any of the models that I'm interested in. It's not going to happen, is it? S.P.
 13. I'd really like one of those SX basses, but once you add the overseas shipping, duty and obligatory hard case, that $100 bass is going to end up costing more like £200. Is there a better way? S.P.
 14. Uh... yeah. That's me! That's me! It is, honest. S.P.
 15.
At one point a techy actually crept up behind me and turned my amp off! I nearly punched him!
Wow. You must have been shockingly bad. S.P.
 16. I've already put this in its own thread, but I suppose it belongs here. S.P.
 17. From the FAQ:
You can buy covers from a few aftermarket suppliers - we'll put a link on here once we have provided them with all the relevant dimensions
S.P.
 18. Shuttle 6.0 head - 1.7kg Barefacedbass Compact cab - 14.5kg Yeah, I know the combined cost is about a grand, but you could sell your GK combo. S.P.
 19.
I'll get my coat
Don't worry about it, something tells me this won't be the last time that we hear from... ...Mystery Sparkle Gold Jazz! S.P.
 20. It's been on eBay before - previous basschat threads here and here. S.P.
 21.
my frst plan to have cables in both active/passive jacks linked to a switch didn't work as it really impeaded the performance of the amp.
In what way? What kind of switch were you using?
Just trying to find a solution to a problem using my spare kit.........
I understand this, but it still seems like a very convoluted way to implement instrument switching, which is a problem that should surely be solvable, given how many millions of bass players have done it before you. I suppose it also gives you the benefit that you have your spare head already plugged in and switched on in case you need it, but how often will this be an issue? S.P.
 22.
All the site really has to do is get returned when "Barefaced bass cabs" is googled and provide contacts ...
Uh, Alex, you might want to check out the Google results for "barefaced bass" - the prototype site is coming up on the first page. Might want to get your designer to put in a relevant robots.txt so that it doesn't show up. S.P.
 23. Also, you need to change the way that those expandy-questions work a bit. You need to make them visible by default, and then use JavaScript to make them disappear as the page loads. Then, if people don't have JavaScript enabled, they'll still be able to use the FAQ page. S.P.
 24. It sounds possible, though you'd probably have to get something custom-made. What is it that you're trying to achieve? There might be a simpler way. S.P.
 25.
Good points! Have had quite a few enquiries due to google picking up the site so I think the basic text site is good for the search engines. I think I did put meta tags in the original site too. Colourwise I'm a great fan of orange but Markbass have already claimed that. Blue doesn't feel right. Hmmm... Alex
I thought Markbass had yellow? I believe that the amp manufacturer that you're thinking of might be... Orange. S.P.
