1. Hi! I use a MarkBass F12 head and it sounds great - slightly "punchier" than the LMK head if you ask me. I would also recommend that you go for a separate head and a small portable cab rather than a combo - it makes the rig more portable and you can expand the rig if you get larger gigs by adding another cab. My head fits in a laptop backpack with all my leads, stompers, strings, tools etc. Bass over the shoulder, cab in one hand and off you go. I even had the hard plus leads in the pocket of my gig bag once but that was pushing it a bit... :0) very tube friendly though! personally I'm don't like the MB cabs that much but there are plenty of really cool light cabs out there...Schroeder 1210L (my personal favorite as it matched the head really well), Epifany 112, EA 112CXL etc good luck! Carl
2.
I would be very interested if it were not for colour and relicing, I love sandberg basses and i'm sure this is as good as any i've played. free sandberg love bump
thx! any takers?......it's a lovely bass and you won't regret it cheers c
3. ohhhh I had one of these and kick my self for selling it! The vllex pups sounds awesome and the graphite gives it ingredible sustain. the price is great too...the are much more new and the waiting list ican be up to a year.... c
4.
They're all hand built by the husband and wife team and Sandberg...but i guess it's probably just been specifically ordered at some point! In any case... Does it have the switch to turn the MM pickup into a single coil for a rude jazz sound?
Hi. Just got of the phone with Ms Sandberg who was busy making knodeln for the seven german dwarfs who build the basses using mode technology actually....saw, hammer....glue...(but not to much because it makes them sing about goblins and the build quality goes south).....hand built....bah! Sorry, no swithc for a "rude" jazz sound....a raw a brutal MM sound is the only option I'm afraid.....
5.
Relic doesn't make it custom shop, it's a standard option. I don't believe they have a custom shop, I think they are all built by the same people as I e-mailed them before, and their custom stuff is just the normal models changed a little bit.
well...the sticker on the head says something different.... "custom shop instrument"
6. hello "What is different from the normal spec about it to make it custom shop?" ....the sticker on the head! Not sure to be honest.....I guess the same difference as any customshop offering.....hand build, better attention to detail and so on. I had another four string "standard" PM and thia feels (and sounds) like a completely different instrument...it has a more solid feel to it...hard to explain how as it's a feel thing
7. Ok, up for sale is my Banana Yellow Sandberg California PM5.....light relic'd, Delano pups, Glock preamp, sounds and plays like a dream....love the sound, but can's adjust to the narrow string spacing (my streamer 5'ers are 19mm). Comes with almost new Elixirs and a gig bag. Asking £700 ONO. Any takers? Carl ps will trade for warwick SSII or Fender Strat (yes, i know...a guitar!)

17. Hi I had an iAmp800 and got a really good slap sound with it and my CXL112's. it has a quite extended low end and high end I found that just engaging the 3rd preset did it for me (using all sort of differnet basses but eh jazz basses normally worked best...and my Wick Stage 1 too of course) Soemthing that I learnt when I started to play more slap was that I had stop digging in when playing fingerstyle as the volomue differnence simply was to big in terms of what my fingeres produced...it took me a while to learn to play softer (being an old rocker...) so that when I switched to slap the volume would stay consistent without that I had to change any amp settings. I have never tried the 310 b ut I hear its a great cab and I'm sure you would be able to dial in a good slap tone with the iAmp. Have you tried to set bass tone controls to "0" to keep the mid frequency and just boos a little low/high end on the amp? cutting mids )around 500Hz) is norally a good thing but as Kiwi said above you have to be carful to not dial away your tone.
18. Hi sam, good luck finding a band! carl
19. As you know I bought mine before Christmas on evilby and just had my first gig with it tonight. OMG! It's MUCH bettter than I expected....I only paied roughly£350 and I m ust say for that money you can't get a better amp....1000w, great EQ, tubes.....very verastile too: I had an opportunty to play around with for an hour befpre the soundcheck and I could dial in all sorts of realy greast bass sounds....the tubes really made my Wicks come alive....anything from a great hifi slap sound to old-school warm and distorted tones. I used it with my Schro 410L and its a really great combination as the amp has got the extra ooompf and headreoom to really drive the cab. If you can get hold of one - BUY IT!
20. blimey! what is it for? how does it sound?
21. Well.....clearly this bloke is dodgy........don't understand why peple are going through all the hassle...imagine all the energy he'd spent on this auction(s).......why not ismply put a reserve or BIN option indicating clearly how much your expect for the bass minimum.....instead of all "cunning" adn "clever" tricks of shill bidding....I have used ebay a lot in the past and I haven't had much problems before and as far as I know never bewen a victim of shill bidding....anyway, I think its not more that fair that warwickhunt puts up one of his stage II's for sale now..... ...I really wanted one for Xmas!
22. WOW - really good prices I must say! That 6 string looks tasty!
23. ok, I gotta at least see it...Can you please bring to work and we can meet up so that I can have look? PM me for details Cheers! Carl
24.
Tube amps have natural soft-knee compression. 6dB of compression can make the amp seem to be four times as powerful. You don't actually need four times as much SS power, but you do need a properly set high quality compressor.
Hmmmm that sounds interesting.....how does this work? Do you mean like you would use a compressor/limiter e.g when mastering a recording or in modern PA systems to create a "louder" mix?
