I will be heading down today also should be a cracking day
Just about to walk out of the door, see you there!

I've just bought my ticket for Saturday. It'll be nice to do something which isn't work related for a change! I'm looking forward to investigating a couple of cabs I've got my eye but I'm dreading the sound of a hundred slappity thwackers all trying to out-do each other. See you there!

I just had an e-mail advertising a book of solo arrangements from bassline publishing, which seems to be along these lines, for those who're interested. Looks good mate, hope you're well.
To the tune, right? (sorry, couldn't resist. No offence intended)
I believe i've got most of the bassist magazine music scanned, so should you want a copy of anything then hopefully i'll have it.
-
Here's the last one that I have. Enjoy.
-
No worries, i'll do the rest in the morning. Cheers.

Here you go, a few more. I think there are a couple more to come.
-
Here you go, here are the first few. I'll post some more later. I've had to delete a ton of photos / attachments that i've put on basschat over the years to let me upload these (who'd of thought they'd have all added up to so much) so if you click on an old pic etc and it's not there, that's why! Let me know if you want any more. Cheers.
great post thanks, im enjoying this right now, but just had the dinner shout any more of these please
I believe i've got all of the solo pieces that they did. (I scanned all of the music from the bassist magazines before I sold the entire collection - laborious, but handy all these years later). I'll have a look and dig them out
I just had my stingray V repaired and setup by http://www.guitarhospital.co.uk/index.html I've worked with John ("Deptford") many times and he is a mighty fine backline tech / repairer. Highly recommended (by me anyway!). The postal address is Kent, but his workshop is at Cato in Wandsworth S.W. London.
Oh, and he just won "backline technician of the year" at the 2011 TPI awards. http://www.tpawards.com/

Good call. Lovely song. I'm a chili peppers freak and i've spent years trying to get hold of everything they've ever done, including a Stingray! BSSM is by far the album that has most influenced my playing over the years with Sir Psycho Sexy being the pinnacle of it.

First: Sunn Mustang P-copy, through a peavey TKO 1 x 15" combo. Current: Stingray 5 (occasionally my std fender jazz), through GK 1001 RB head into a Ashdown 4 x 10" bentley cab (ex MK), via a Boss GT10-B. Looking to get a couple of Barefaced cabs to replace the 4x10".

Right, that's it, I'm saving my pennies for one of these.....

I'd love one, but i've a feeling my OCD would get the better of me and i've had to keep polishing it between songs! -
Bass Player whose name has completely left my head...

Very nice! He's freaking me out by staring at me though!! -

Alas, as it stands I now can't make it. Work is dragging me out on tour for all of Jan / Feb which obviously rules me out. Sorry, i was looking forward to it. It's 99.9% confirmed job, but if things change, i'm in.

I also use Finale Notepad to scribble down any notation / transcriptions i do. It used to be free but it's still quite cheap. It's not the most powerful or versatile piece of software, but it does the job nice and simply.
Some nice toys on that Gieson site.
Yeah, i've just spent a while on it too. Thanks.
-
I'm up for coming, but as i don't have any fancy toys (in comparison to everyone else) and i'm not 100% able to be sure i can make it so i'll have to just be a visitor on the day.
The hooded claw? And did he finally get Penelope Pitstop?
Thanks, now i've got coffee spluttered all over my monitor!!!

Well, the pics from the website seem to suggest TM Stevens, Mark King, Andrew Mckinney, Les Claypool, Billy Sheehan's (Bass!!), whether that means they'll be there or playing there is to be revealed. However for £12.50, and with me living in london, i'll quite happily go along both days. Olympia is a pretty big place to fill for "just" a bass guitar based trade show.
