  1. LAST PRICE DROP!!!! Now £300. This is my final reduction so this will be kept if there's no interest at this price. Great deal!
  2. Withdrawn: I've decided to keep it.
  3. The unfortunate flip side to the old cash on collection chestnut: I've had a couple of fairly priced basses for sale on eBay where I insisted on cash payment, and collection only. Adding those two levels of inconvenience has proven to be the best way to kill all buyer interest. Still, I learnt the hard way once before that eBay gives completely no Fs about protecting sellers from fraudulent buyers and will always side with a buyer over a seller. Better to be safe than sorry. eBay and PayPal are literally the worst when you get screwed over. Cash is king!
  4. I may be alone in this but I think it makes the fretboard look pretty cool. I'm with @ped on this; it won't affect the sound or playability of your bass so it ain't no thang.
  5. Thanks dude. Anyone would think a global pandemic had interfered with people's plan to spend all their disposable cash on more shiny basses. 🙄
  6. Now £315 in line with the eBay listing price. Bruce cordially invites you to try out this low cost cracker of a bass:
  7. Now £340 in line with the eBay listing price. The best £340 you will ever spend on an acoustic bass. Come on now!!!
  8. I think Joe Dart is quite an impressive player on a technical level (and I'm a lot older than 25). I just can't stand the smugness of the guys in Vulfpeck though. It's not like they're doing anything other than recycling 70s and early 80s smooth funk jams
  9. Difficult to say as most bassists are essentially unrated. I say this as most audience members and music listeners are fairly ambivalent to the bassist in a band they're listening to, unless they are a musician and even then they might not be too bothered. As per the mainly supportive nature of our instrument's role. Maybe Mike Dirnt fits this category?
  10. Just thought of another: George Murray - Bowie's bassist for the period when all his best work was done (I'm talking Station to Station to Scary Monsters). Awesome player!
  11. For me definitely one of the most underrated bassists of the last 15 years is Roy Mitchell Cardenas of Mutemath. Damn fine player. I tried to start a thread on Roy's playing here, not a single reply. Very underrated and it would seem not that well known.
  12. I sold a natural finish Music Man Stingray HS on here almost 3 years back. I had it for 9 years from new and it was awesome; I just really needed to raise cash quickly for my wedding. It's the only bass I've sold that I deeply regretted. A guy in Belgium has it now. However, I miss it but my back and shoulders miss it less so 😉.
  13. Mate you must have been a teenager in the 90s (like me).
  14. Lovely bass, that silver finish is very striking. Is that a picture of Jet from Gladiators on the wall in the background? 🤪
  15. That's the most pristine, least DIY punk rock set of gnashers I've ever seen.
  16. Just received my second attempt at a Gumtree Paypal scam for the same bass!! This time they bypassed messaging me via Gumtree and WhatsApped me with the old 'I'll PayPal you the funds without trying out the bass, and then arrange a courier' chestnut. This is getting old!
  17. Another PRICE DROP!!! Now £350 - very good price for an awesome bass.
  18. Another PRICE DROP!!! Now £325. Great price for a lovely bass!
  19. Just goes to show even the greats can have a duff gig...😂
  20. Awesome stuff. Stewart Copeland especially is absolutely monstrous on drums during the footage - playing with the energy of someone half his age. For me it's better than the 2007 Led Zeppelin reunion gig. They play some cool album tracks too in addition to the hits. I've always found a lot of their biggest hits to be their worst songs (De do do do). I'd have loved to have seen some of the lesser known album tracks played live on this film though (eg: Bring on the Night, Omega Man).
  21. I didn't. Damn!!! That has killed the vibe stone dead 😂😖
  22. If you can sell the bass, and get that cash in hand, navigating through all the time consuming knuckle draggers and scammers will all be worthwhile. You can also be safe in the knowledge that you haven't given a penny to eBay or PayPal - two corporations who are totally okay with allowing unscrupulous buyers to screw over sellers and don't even bother to properly investigate the cases.
  23. I have to say my experiences of trying to sell stuff on Gumtree in the past has repeatedly been to marvel in disbelief at how many time wasting morons you have to suffer. Continuing the same trend I recently listed a bass, first message was a PayPal scammer with a made up sob story about poor health, the second was someone who asked if it was still available - yes it was, could he come and try it out? Yes- how about an evening that week? Then nothing, never heard from him again. Well done buddy, really great to chat! Don't get me started on people messaging you with laughably low offers, not turning up for an agreed meet up, or asking you questions that are all answered in the text on the listing. But hey... it's character building.🤦‍♂️
  24. Now getting interest on eBay and Gumtree so may not be here for much longer....
