  1. I hear that, certainly does suck being a grownup sometimes. Thanks again and good luck with the bathroom and PC replacements 👍
  2. Yes, I can't argue with that. Fingers crossed live music and gigging opportunities will start to slowly pick up in the coming months 🤞👍
  3. Bank Holiday Monday PRICE DROP!!! Now £350. Any interest??
  4. Bank Holiday Monday PRICE DROP!!! Now £380. These retail new at 799 euros and are not easy to get hold of in the UK so come on, grab yourself the best sounding, highest quality acoustic bass available anywhere on Earth for this price. Any interest for the Robot??
  5. Thanks man, I would agree - it is a real belter. Feel free to come and try it out if you find yourself in the area 👍👍
  6. I'm selling my super-lovely acoustic bass. It is legitimately the best, fullest and loudest sounding acoustic bass I have ever played and I've played many and owned a few previously. There is no better acoustic bass for the money!!! Equipped with high-end Nautilus Posydon pickup (with volume control situated in the side of the sound hole,) means the plugged in tone is way better than you've probably ever heard for an acoustic bass. Also comes with the decent Tom & Will gig bag pictured, in very good condition. Plays and sounds great with a very comfortable neck; neck is straight and truss rod is in great shape. Recently strung with an awesome sounding set of DR Handmade acoustic bass strings. Nice! Specs can be found on the Stanford Guitars website here: https://stanford-guitars.com/guitars/lo-freak/stanford-robot-4-fretted/ Condition is overall good, with some finish loss on the back of the neck as shown in pictures, just from playing - so nothing major. There's also a couple of finish scrapes near the heel (as pictured), and some slight scuffs to the headstock top edge which are pretty much unnoticeable. Not looking for trades as I need to raise some cash. Collection from the Preston Park area of Brighton is strongly preferred as I'm not keen on sending an acoustic bass that doesn't have a hard case due to the situation with couriers refusing to insure instruments sent without a hard case. A meet-up within a reasonable distance from Brighton is also a possibility. Here's my feedback: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/306417-feedback-for-edlib-3/ Any questions, let me know. Cheers!
  7. Weight according to my (not reliable) bathroom scales is 9 Ibs. I would describe the neck as having as a D shape.
  8. Hi, Plywood body makes the bass pretty light, sounds nice and resonant too. I'll try and weigh the bass on bathroom scales later on. We've got the DiMarzio pickups running through the active preamp so it's business as usual. The stock pickups were passive just as these ones are. In short, it's still an active bass.
  9. 1997 Ibanez TR200 Bass with 2 band active EQ (serial no: 6011374). I bought this from Japan, I've tried to find more details on these instruments, but this particular iteration of the TR200 only appears in a 1997 Japanese Ibanez catalogue, check the link for more details: http://brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-and-amp/ibanez/1997/en_22.html Excellent mid-level instrument, rare and very hard to find for sale used at a good price. No trade offers please as I need to raise some cash. Includes the following high quality upgrades: Kluson High Mass Bridge, DiMarzio Model P and J pickups, Jim Dunlop Straploks, and Gotoh GB528 Resolite lightweight tuners. Includes original Ibanez gig bag. The bass plays and sounds great, truss rod works fine and the neck is straight and plays great. Condition for this bass is very good for its age; just a small unnoticeable scuff to the finish on the edge of both the top and bottom sides of the body, and a slight bit of finish loss by the bridge pickup when it was upgraded. All unnoticeable unless you look very closely and carefully. Collection from the Preston Park area of Brighton is strongly preferred as the thin Ibanez gig bag for this bass offers very little protection and I'm not keen on sending basses that don't have a hard case as couriers won't insure them. A meet-up within a reasonable distance from Brighton is also a possibility. Here's my feedback: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/306417-feedback-for-edlib-3/ Any questions, let me know. Cheers!
  10. Steve Swallow on John Scofield Trio's live album Enroute. Understated class throughout (great solo from 6:28 onwards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8a0wlCc_G0Y The Great One John Paul Jones all over the How the West was Won live album (sorry for the predictability of this choice but undeniable nonetheless). Roy Mitchell-Cardenas on Mutemath's Armistice Live album (flatwounds and a pick!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ajod0IL0Pa0
  11. Another price drop: now £20 including postage in the UK. Great deal! Come on now!
  12. Yes, although I associate Bruce Foxton in my mind more with a clanky Rickenbacker tone. Also John Wetton makes a P Bass sound exciting on those classic era King Crimson albums.
  13. Yikes I sense the Basschat fatwahs being prepared. I'd agree, I've never found P basses to be inspiring soundwise - with the exception of Matt Freeman from Rancid's tone on the Precision Bass. Epiphone Rivoli basses being another that for me could be used as an effective insomnia treatment.
  14. I sold some Bass Player magazines to Gavin, he's a great guy and the transaction was easy and pleasant with good communication throughout. Thanks again dude!
  15. 3 issues of Bass Player sold as a set only: August 2019: Tom Hamilton cover feature Holiday 2019: Flea cover feature June 2020: Darryl Jones cover feature, also with a good interview with Lee Sklar All 3 issues in really good condition. £7 including postage in the UK. Here's my feedback: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/306417-feedback-for-edlib-3/
  16. Hi @Booga13 just seen your message. Sorry, the eBay buyer has now just paid as an unpaid item case was opened. Now sold.
  17. And back on sale again due to some clown on eBay winning the auction and refusing to pay. God I hate eBay...
  18. Really interesting to learn everyone's experiences with these instruments, with the different views expressed it does tend to point to a 'try some out and find what works for you' viewpoint. There's certainly more love out there for acoustic basses than I would have expected. Worth pointing out to the OP @Johnnyguru that it's wise to have a look what's on sale secondhand acoustic bass wise, as the resale value of acoustic basses is generally great news for buyers and heartbreaking news for sellers. There's always used acoustic basses on sale at good prices that look barely played, on here, eBay or Gumtree.
  19. My most useful instrument by some margin is my Jazz Bass, which I also use to practise on. Each to their own of course, but I've never found acoustic basses to sound very good once you run them through an amp - you have to work hard to not get a thin, clackety tone when you plug them in - most of the ones I've owned or played in my price range have come with a very underwhelming built in EQ and preamp. So what we've got is a bass that is too quiet to be played acoustically with most other instruments and sounds a lot worse (in my view) than an electric bass when plugged in. Doesn't sound that useful when you look at it that way. I would concede that your situation is a more unique one where all your amps are in an outhouse so not so easy to switch on and plug into.
  20. Hi there, I would like to re-list this item which I had earlier withdrawn from sale, as it is now back up for sale: It's currently closed to all further replies. Please could you sort this out for me so I can put it back up for sale? Many thanks, Ed
  21. I sold a set of Schaller tuners to Dave, really great guy and I couldn't have wished for a more pleasant and straightforward transaction. Many thanks Dave, you're a total credit to this forum. Deal with total confidence, people.
  22. PRICE DROP: Now £25 including postage in the UK. Any interest for a decent set of PJ pickups at a very good price?
