1.
First song from Cornell after Soundgarden (just before Euphoria Morning) Beautiful, just beautiful! http://www.youtube....h?v=XWookEVtaIs (I just forgot how to embeb videos....)
Beautiful song. http://youtu.be/XWookEVtaIs

 3. For what it's worth this is my favourite Chris Cornel song. I used to busk this one in the subways of Plymouth. Ironically the album it came from was a tribute from various people on the grunge scene for a friend who died young. http://youtu.be/VUb450Alpps
 4. Aye. Many happy returns, cheers to the mods and the guys that run and own the site. Thanks for providing such a great service.
 5. Maybe try practising the part without the backing track until you get it down?
 6. I'm a big fan of DR hi beams. There's no doubting the quality of their strings. Prices seem to vary a bit as well, if you look around sometimes you can get them a fair bit cheaper.
 7. I'm not a mod, but you could stick it in here. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/223363-royal-blood/page__fromsearch__1
 8.
A bit out of tune
Bad as this? http://youtu.be/Eu5kgSeZHfw
 9. Congratulations. Step 1. learn Frampton's set. Step 2. lock Frampton's bass player in a cupboard just before he's due to go on Step 3. Wait for the panicked 'Is there a bass player in the house?' call to go out. Step 4. step straight into the big leagues. Best of luck.
 10.
One of my cats once came & stomped on my laptop keyboard & a picture of a man with a camel appeared. I have no idea where it came from. She also used to be completely obsessed with the Kraftwerk website.
I rest my case.
 11.
What was that? Sorry, I was just looking at some kittens.
Worth doing. The little furry bastards already control the internet. It's clear they're up to something. I often find my cat on the keyboard trying to look innocent. Check your history, I've found sites that I' ve never visited, usually about the evolution of opposable thumbs and the operation of heavy weaponry. It's comforting that someone else is keeping an eye on the fluffy anarchists.
 12.
I think you'll find it's actually hugely offensive.
In my defense, I don't believe I've ever used the term myself,as someone who plays both guitar and bass I'm just not offended by it. But, having read some of the comments here, particularly by those who have personal reasons to dislike the term, I'm willing to reconsider my position. In the past I have worked (as part of a disability rights team who's job was to explain to people the new civil rights they received under the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act) with people with mental disabilities and I would never use the r word to describe any of them. Mainly because it's a piss poor catch all term which ignores the unique difficulties each individual faces.
 13. Guitarshole has been the best offering so far, if we're looking for an alternative.
 14.
Mine seems to keep itself in tune! Never goes out from gig to gig! Still check it before we go on and keep an eye during gigs though.
I've got a Washburn Status like that. Sometimes I don't pick it up for months, rarely needs more than fractional turns of the tuners before it's perfect.
 15.
I might start a thread about picking on gingers now .........
Joshing ginger mates ,fine, almost a duty. Picking on ginger women, misguided. Red and orange are the most beautiful hair colours. I have unusual tastes...
 16. It' s just banter. Like a lot of people on here I play both, and I've never been offended by it. If you go on a guitar forum you'll find plenty of playful derogatory stuff said about bass players. And everyone takes the piss out of drummers and singists. Funny thing is, we need all those people to make a band. We're just one big dysfunctional family of interdependent musicians.
 17.

I'm not convinced by any of the comments so far. Maybe Paul McCartney. Otherwise ...... pfffft!

Prince is fairly hard to argue against. He based his bass style on bass by Larry Graham, he's far more than a guitarist who messes about on bass a bit,
 18.
I'm a little disappointed the configurator isn't fully complete yet, I'm not GASing for a jazz style bass, however I am DESPERATE for a decent P currently and some of my wants are very specific. The configurator however is a phenomenal idea and something more brands should look in to adding to their website, it'll simplify the process of getting any custom bass ordered!
I couldn't quite get what I wanted either, although I did get close enough to confirm that I can't currently afford it. Have to keep saving the pennies.
 19.
https://public-peace.de/configurator/elwood-c You'll find it under the Custom Shop tab.
Cheers.
 20. Any chance someone can post a link to the configurator? I can't find it on the website.
 21. My first ever gig was at a house party. One of the lads from school lived in a massive, as in two staircases, wine cellar and a half mile driveway, mansion. His parents went away and he decided to hold a 'small gathering'. Purely by word of mouth (this was pre internet and pre mobile phone) the news spread and on the night around 300 kids from town somehow made their way to his small village and crashed the party. Total carnage. Fights, the discovery and subsequent emptying of the wine cellar, fag burns all over the carpet. Human effluent on the walls. People shagging in the gardens. The police turned up and left again then returned with a riot van. I've never experienced anything like it before or since. How was the gig ? We were awful. Nobody cared. Classic night.
 22.
Hei KiOgon, is this something you can help me with, got a classic 60s Jazz and a recent US standard Jazz that would benefit from an added series/pareller switch (i think!)
PM him here. http://basschat.co.uk/user/7835-kiogon/
 23.
. Not sure the shop will be there in January, he's closing this year I believe. Following him on Facebook he's putting some very good bargains out there, make him an offer if you can.
Unfortunately I've already made my annual purchase for this year. The new bass fund is pitifully low at the moment.
 24.
I really need to try a series/parallel switch on my jazz basses, does anyone make something an electrical ignoramus such as myself? I was amazed at how good my 60s classic sounded the other day with the front pu on full, the bridge on about 1/3, through an ABM 600. Rediscovering my love of Jazz Basses!
Have a word with kiogon. I have no electrictronic skills at all and I was able to install the new loom I purchased from him in under 5 minutes. He assembled all the electrical gubbins on a new control plate, all I had to do was connect the pickups to the solder free connectors and screw the new plate in. I'm sure if you tell him what you need he could come up with something similar for you.
 25.
http://greatbritishbasslounge.com/product/gl-asat-semi-hollow/
Cheers. If it's still there in January I may be in with a shout.
