Thats a fine looking amp and id be interested to hear how it sounds against a prodigy.dont think i could gamble my money again though after previous experience

ive used british audio service to get a new front plate for my ah250.a little on the expensive side but i had no problems with the delivery .they have parts that may be unobtainable anywhere else.

I dont trust any carriers after multiple delivery issues and damage.dpd are the latest to deliver £700 worth of damaged goods and refusing to accept their responsibilty.keep at them to get your bass

ive just had the mosfets in my mk5 ah250 replaced by stoneham amplification.the power and tone has been fully restored to what it was like when i bought it new in the 80s. my own opinion is that when t.e .emerged they raised the bar for bass amplification to a new level that is still valid today.the current prices represent excellent value for money as long as you can manage the weight..ive never had a problem competing with guitarists whatever they were using.

hi there,just a little update on my fight with dpd over my damaged cabinet. No change,they are just refusing to pay for the damage .ill keep at them though.

Is anyone in the northeast using a mesa boogie prodigy or d800+.id like to hear them in action before i choose what new amp to buy.if you gigging one ill come and have a listen.cheers

I tend to agree with chris b.i had white valve amp in the late 70s which was virtually identical to orange .it was unreliable and overheated leading to excess distortion for my ears.i replaced it with an hh which i didnt like.along came trace and blew everything else out of the water for me.my amps are now over 30 yrs old and im looking for a new one.im also considering gk fusion or maybe a prodigy if modern valve amp design has improved.or does a d800+ fit the bill

"Caveat Emperor" After a misunderstanding over the finish my eagerly awaited Black Emperor cabs arrived from Handbox. The cabs sound great using my T.E ah250.Lots of depth and clarity with punch all be it just using them in my garage.Ive yet to try them at a gig or rehearsal. The quality of finish is also extremely good.Overall a very good product. Unfortunately for me one cab was damaged in transit.(dpd).Idont know anyone who opens a parcel and fully examines the goods before signing so it looks like they wont pay for the damage and im left trying to repair the cab.This is not the first time this has happened to me and im sure these firms just couldnt care less about the goods they deliver and find any excuse not to pay up even though the insurance has been paid. All this has not changed my mind about taking a chance on unknown amps and cabs etc but what i wont take a chance on is having them damaged by these unprofessional, uncaring delivery companies.Ill be looking for a new amp in a few months but unless i walk away with it in my hands after purchase then i wont be buying it.

The black emperor cabs should be here early next week.i dont know how to add photos but they are on handbox facebook page if anyone would like a look.ill be selling my beloved trace stack if they sound as good as i hope.

After more than 30 years of proud ownership comes the realisation that i cannot manhandle my beloved trace elliot stack on my own any more. I bought the cabs without hearing them as they were extremely rare at the time so i took the gamble on them. Well its gamble time again so ive got 2 Handbox Black Emperor 2x10 cabs coming in a couple of weeks.im gonna try them with my spare head and see how they go.should be easier to load my van anyway.
