3. I've looked up the serial number and it's a 76 Besides it will be in the hands of it's new owner this weekend... sad to see it go but on the up side I'm a little closer to getting my Bongo 5 HH (was gonna go for a fretless 5 but the pull of the bongo is just too strong for my weak will to resist)
 4. I've just picked up an AKG wireless system from PMT in Leeds for 80 quid was 139 reduced to 99 the talked down by yours truly because of shabby looking box works a treat and no more wires to trip over wooohooo (3 year warranty too)
 5.
Careful if you get a Traveller 115P as there are 2 models, mine is an early one that is not as wide as your cab, later ones from summer 07 onwards are wider so they match each others width.
It is however a perfect fit under my Jeff Berlin combo and even locks into the corner supports 2 x 15 trouser flapping fun awaits Cheers Mate
 6.
I sold a fretless 301 for £400 about 4 months back.
Thanks for that and to all the other replies too
 7. Surely some of you have heard of Guild basses???
 8. I have a late 70's Black Guild B301 all original with a few marks but nothing serious the only thing is it has had its frets ground to effectivley make it a lined fretless. I have tried and tried to get used to 4 strings purely because of this bass, it sounds beautiful but I just get muddled when I get back on my 5 string so I need a 5 string fretless. Does anyone have any idea if this bass has any value or would it be better to try and trade it for a 5 string with some cash? Any ideas or comments welcome
 9. Thanks for all the offers guys... sorted thanks to Yorks5stringer

 11.
You're welcome to borrow my 1x15 if needed. I'll be using it at a gig in Stocksbridge on Friday, however returning it to Harrogate would be quite a treck for you.
Not as bad as it sounds actually because the gig is near selby and I'll be stopping up that end of the woods anyway, can I get back to you if I need to? Actually I might come and see you guys anyway on the friday night
 12.
Where is the gig?
Drax sports and social club near selby Seats about 250 ish (so biggish for us pub bands)
 13.
How does either a 210 or a 151 Traveller Markbass cab fit the bill? I have both and am just waiting to see which is more suited to my Hartke LH500 that is arriving today as my LMII is paggered..... I'll only need 1 cab of the 2 I have.
Either would be fantastic just need to take the pressure off the PA
 14.
More than welcome to my Ashdown but I'm in Kent
Cheers anyway dude
 15. I'm in a bit of a fix if any of the Yorkshire contingent could help I have a gig at a fairly large club on Saturday and the bad news is I need an extention cab to allow my Markbass to use it's full wattage as our PA is a little short on the wattage front. If any one has a spare 8ohm cab that will handle 250 to 300W they could lend/hire me I would be eternally grateful. My mobile is 07767 886946 Thanks for looking
 16.
the bongo is the only one for me
Ahhh you've had a go on one too then... Aren't they something else, so easy to play
 17. I know I've mentioned it before and it's not the tune but the intro Drive my car by the Beatles the intro just sounds out of time but right when it's tight hey I'm a poet but I don't know it
 18.
shhh.. i do that too! pretty blue lights! in my opinion everyone has a right to arrogance (and anything else for that matter), its how you use it and think of it that can make the difference. exaggerating your skill level in your mind is a powerful mental technique when learning and can remove boundaries of possibility, and avoid mental obstacles created by 'labels' (e.g: 'beginner'). as AM said - everyone has their own preferred way of learning and receiving information, so i'm not suggesting it works for everyone. a forum category which covers the basics, and 'FAQs' would be helpful, and its really good to see so many people up for getting involved in a mentory kind of way
Will you be my mentor lol
 19.
Pretty much the same here with my Jeff Berlin combo. I hardly ever touch the EQ, but use the two filters depending on whether I want a ''modern'' or ''vintage'' tone.
Snap... I run my JB exactly the same
 20.
Yep, intimate gig....the sweat is on! I think it's a good thing though, keeps you on your toes.
95% of our gigs are just this... pub gigs "Sweat is on" is right on the money, I perspire constantly through the gig (not a nice image i know) but it's a fact. I need to stop this happening somehow, and I know it's caused by nerves.
 21. I know I'm on the bottom rung but my reach exceeds my grasp and will do for a lot of years to come i suspect... We did a christmas gig a couple of weeks ago and a member of the audience came up to me after the gig and introduced himself as a fellow bass player, he said the bass was absolutely bang on, no frills and in the pocket the whole time. That to me was praise indeed as I know the fills and frills stuff will come with time, timing and groove is my main concern and what I spend most of my practice time trying to get right after sussing the notes of course. The reason I got into this band was because the bass player they had was more interested in doing the one foot on the monitor solos than keeping the groove going.
 22. Markbass 1x15 "Jeff Berlin" turned right down for rehearsals and about 50% for gigs if not DI'd or 25% for effectivley on stage monitor. Played at loads of different jam nights against (yes against) wannabe guitard gods and the the loudest drummers I have ever heard and it's always held it's own on 300W used to run an extension cab to use the 500W available but never got the main volume above 30% so stopped using it. Masive sound and wonderful tone with a very effective EQ Oh yeah, and you can carry it with one hand

 24. I have never heard bass that "in the pocket" and grooving that hard before ever... I have to learn to play like that before I put my bass away for the last time Absolutely INSPIRING!!!
