Great to hear you are up and gigging John after that ocular nastiness
Many thanks Clarky, thankfully the Arts Centre stage is big enough to accommodate a (temporarily) one-eyed bass player and his blundering -

Did you know Bag End is a literal translation of the French 'cul de sac'?
Did you care?
I didn't and I do. I feel slightly better for knowing that now, cheers. -

I could have put money on the main contributors to this thread... I've only got Barrie to chip in and I'll have the 'full house' that I predicted!
Oddly enough the two, possibly three, basses that I'd buy back again were all purchased off the two 'main contributors' here. Mrs Deaver has just chipped in to say why don't we organise it like an art club where you swap the paintings around every so often. -
Another forgotten all about it bump, down to £40 posted now
-
When I hear something I've recorded and think that it sounds like a proper bass player rather than me. When I get to the end of a gig and get that rush from having got through it and done a good job. When a new song comes together properly for the first time.

Are you allowed to put a disclaimer in the ad to not sell it if it doesnt make enough money?

Yes, as long as you put it in very small writing -

Deaver,That's not you, is it.
You tricked me.
grrrrrrrrr
It is (or was) me. Who did you think I was? -
Found this yesterday, bit dated but gives a clear idea of my previous existence
-
Funnily enough I think I know which one "the one" is. That said I'm quite happy fooling around with others until I decide finally to settle down. Any metaphorical resemblance to my own life is absolute.

Nice that. I'm currently trying to play my "I've been such a brave boy recently" card with Mrs D so I can buy this, Doubt I'll have much luck, all the best with the sale

I joined on the basis of buying one bass and then legging it. Boy, did that ever go wrong
-
My perfect Precision as well. Haven't got the dosh at the moment though

Have you had any lessons Deaver? even one would give you a huge amount to work on and to have a close up inspection/appraisal of your technique is IMO invaluable.

I haven't as yet, I understand what you're saying but it is, to use a dread phrase, a question of priorities at the moment. Realistically it won't be until the summer at the earliest. -
I had a quick go at this Rabbath lark earlier today and I think something might have clicked - lessons will still have to wait I'm afraid (time and money). Fairly sure I heard an improvement in intonation, I'll report back in a month or so

Hi Everyone!
I live on the Hants/Wilts border, but my roots are in North Manchester
I'm not so far from the Hants\Wilts border, my roots are South Manchester though. Welcome to the forum - hope you enjoy it -

I'd be all over this... if we could have 2 John Taylors'!
You could have three - it's my real name. Thankfully I'm bald, fat and talentless so the tribute circuit can be spared -
There's one here http://www.arcellussykesmusic.com/index.php?/transcriptions/

And hello from Salisbury, welcome aboard

This is my old Ibanez 2366: http://s1128.photobu...%201972%20SOLD/
The fret-ends appeared to be factory-fitted and were a God-send when I first started playing fretless. That bass would probably fall within your £200 budget if you could find one. Bloody heavy, mind.
Damn, how that bass has tormented me over the last few years. Never seems to come up when I've got the cash -
A pleasure as always to deal with Paul. A pleasingly Old School deal this one involving a cheque (ask your parents), the only downside being that no meet up was required,
A thorough gent both on and off the forum -
I have just sold Alex my OM Yamaha BB414, all went very smoothly and I found Alex very pleasant to deal with. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again
-
Bought a Warwick Streamer STD off Andy and I am very pleased with an excellent deal. Enjoyed a painless transaction and he was happy to accommodate my delivery date request, can't ask for much more really. Top bloke to deal with.
Me and a few friends did a John Mayer cover

My favourite thing on this part of the forum. I enjoyed every bit of that.
