Here's the link to Deaver's sale thread (hope you don't mind John):
No probs. You've got to love it on here, I've not even put the cash in the bank yet. If I wasn't stalking half of Clarky's bass collection I'd have it straight back.

Just bought a Barefaced Compact off Andy. Hand delivered from Portsmouth, a very decent man to deal with.

Nick's just left Salisbury after coming down to pick up my US Precision. A very pleasant man indeed to deal with. Cheers Nick

***SOLD*** previously owned by tBBC and skankdelvar, a genuine piece of basschat history. Skanks original thread Skanky-link here, which contains some debate about the nature of this bass. I'll get some more recent photos up over the weekend, for the time being here's some catalogue shots A few biffs and bangs on this one. Mod wise I've added the top half of an Epiphone 3 point bridge as one of the saddles broke on the original. One of the pickup height screws has been replaced and I've had to resolder a wire on the front pickup. Local pick-up preferred, I'm in Salisbury Sunny photos

***SOLD*** Up for sale, £650 plus p&p 2008 US MIA Precision, Olympic White body, brown tort pickguard and rosewood neck. Comes complete with original Fender hardcase and all the case stuff. Bought of Clarky last summer and pretty much still mint. A very poor picture below, more info and pictures will be coming up soon but you probably have a good idea what all this is about. One of a number of sales, I'm currently looking to raise cash for an Alembic or a new kitchen. If I get an Alembic I get happy, if Mrs D gets a new kitchen I get lucky. Swings and roundabouts. Some other things I might be interested in; Marcus Miller Jazz, MarkBass LMII I'm based in Salisbury, preference will be given to local pick up or train station meet up

Not that I want to sway anyone's judgement but Mark King was the reason I gave up playing for 22 years. He probably deserves a knighthood for his services to music. On another point, the graphics of mid-period Tom and Jerry are a thing of beauty. The graphics of Avatar are merely spectacular.
Football? Isn't that the strange Earth custom where twenty-two men run around in t-shirts and shorts in the middle of winter, chasing a spherical projectile around a wet & muddy field for no apparent reason?
For about £100'000 a week if you're really good at it. I'd consider that an incentive
Do you mean two strings (presumably E & A) tuned as a bass guitar and four strings (presumably D-G-B-E) tuned as a guitar (i.e. an octave up)? Or was it just a normal Bass VI set up like a guitar but all an octave down?
I think it was along the lines of the of DGBEAD with everything dropped down a tone (the bottom D,G being off a normal bass set up). He did say that the first time he tried it the neck of the guitar warped. He also tried to explain how he'd overcome the intonation problems caused by putting bass strings on a guitar (an Epiphone Les Pul copy, I think) but the singers thighs came into view again and I started to lose concentration.

Pootled down my local venue (Winchester Gate, Salisbury) last night to see a three piece Karn8 who are fronted by the considerable charms of young Kirst. I was slighly startled by the bass/guitar arrangement which was described to me as a baritone bass. To his credit the bass/guitar player took some time to explain the set up after the gig, The guitar was strung with a couple of bass strings and four guitar strings. The effects board contained an octaver, the signal for this was sent to a bass amp the rest of the signal going to a guitar amp. This allowed him to function as both bass and guitar - which all leads to a very tight performance. Anybody else had a bash at this sort of thing.

Count me in, I might even be able to get the bus from Salisbury

Blimey, your a busy lad. I'll see you down the Winchester Gate unless we have a gig that night
