1. Might be interested if this has a price
2.
Good work. Top songs. I bet you're fun live.
Thanks for comments. The live set is indeed fun (it's fun to play anyway) and I'm glad some of that comes through on the recordings.
3. Another step on the comeback trail, first appearance on a recording for me in 25 years. Now available for your perusal and comment at MySpace The Intercepteurs The three new songs are: Jacky and Sue; Northern Song; Scandalized For the tech-heads amongst you these were recorded with the brand new Olympic White Precision I bought off Clarky a little while back and DI'd out of the Eden WT550 which I have just sold to voxpop. Thanks for your time
4. Just completed a very smooth transaction with Marc. Speedy payment and excellent communications. A quick rendezvous at Basingstoke station to do the handover and everybody's happy. Would be very happy to deal with him again.
5. Completed the superfast Jaco fretless deal with Moos3h. This is an excellent guy to deal with, extremely good communications and a very carefully packaged bass. Yet another top BassChatter to deal with.
6.
Is this a basschat record? About 19mins by my calculations.
I don't know about that but the following is a sorry tale: 12:41 This sale posted 12:52 (PM to vmaxblues) "I won't be buying or trading for any more basses in the near future..." 12:59 Bought Moos3h's fretless
7.
10.45-11.15pm Robb Blake - "Often billed as 'The One Man Ska Explosion' ... kinda Sublime via Joe Strummer. he skanks in a sweet pop friendly manner" Cheers Clarky
Say hello to Robb for me if you get chance, Clarky. He's a good lad and has put us on a couple of times at the pub he runs the gigs at (hmm, wonder if I can get a lift there and back with him, probably not)
8.
Hi there How old is the Head?
09-01-2006. If you squint you can just about see it on the photo of the rear
9. ...and back again
10. And £50 postage. Bernie must sure use a lot of lacquer on these things, the one I had was light as a feather. Just noticed that it is "supper fast", "extremely sort after" and it "hangs on the wall like an famous oil painting". I'm assuming that when I sober up tomorrow this will make some kind of sense.
11. Rush, Manchester Apollo, February 1978. For many years I was quite embarrassed about this, doesn't seem too bad now.
12. Rotosound pure nickels look favourite. There's a whole bunch of strings reviewed in here Bass Player Tone & Technology
13. When I saw the original line up live Pete Farndon had a trick of gobbing some distance vertically and catching it again. Who needs effects and video walls when you can do that. Kids, think twice before you try this for yourselves.
14. You might as well add me to the list Chris, I've fancied this one for ages
15. Still here, no rack now though
16.
No interest? Bob?
I'd love it but I've got to sell first, same old story...
17. Still for sale, looking for a straight cash sale and I've gone off the idea of a 5 string (again)
18. Soon, I may have it down to yards if all goes well
19. Total star. He'd had some trouble finding a reliable courier for the Ampeg combo I bought off him so he popped it in the back of his car and ran it down to me. Not so bad you might think, well it does also happen that he lives 200 miles away from me...so make your minds up people. I also got a crack on his Yamaha Attitude which he'd brought along to demonstrate the amp with. My only regret is that he wouldn't stay for lunch. Top bloke.
20. I think all PMs are replied to now. Apologies for all the hokey-cokey with this one, I seem to be having some difficulty parting with this bass.
21. I tried an unlined for a while, which I should of stuck with for the reasons Bilbo gives above. Eventually I decided to sell and build a lined fretless instead. Why, because I'm a lazy wuss.
22.
Sweet Mother of God, I love that bass. (Stands entranced)
Beat me to it again Skank. I've just worked out that if I sell the Eden and the USA P for cash I could afford this. If I bought it I'd let you visit once a month to ogle.
23.
I PM'd a while ago, but never received ought back I really fancied it as well.
I replied to the first PM, the second doesnt require a reply until Nov 7th. I'll PM all concerned parties this weekend, hopefully, when this is all resolved
24. As a counterpoint to all this, my band are a lovely bunch of people. I, however, am a grumpy, stubborn clot.
