1. Bass Player is just as bad proofing wise. I prefer the tutorials in Bass Guitar Magazine and you can read it in the bath.
2. I take it this would fit the Telecaster? I'll have to wait till the end of the month to see if I can afford it though.
3. Had the pleasure of meeting up with the venerable Beedster this morning after he casually drove from Canterbury to Salisbury to drop off a sensational Telecaster bass. Had a good chat over a cup of tea about basses, bassists and bass bashes. I know it's all been said before but I'll say it again; top bloke and as always a top deal - you really can't go wrong with this man. Oh, and Mrs Deaver says he smells nice.
4. Welcome aboard. The only time I visited Bolton I went to a chip shop that had no chips and a pub that had no beer. It's always puzzled me - but then I from sophisticated South Manchester.
5. Have you checked where they are playing tonight. You can't make this stuff up, I swear.
6. There's a lot of us old boys on here all of a sudden
7. I'd love to see the Bilbo and BBC duet of Another One Bites The Dust. It would be almost worth marrying again just to have it as the first dance.
8. "Where's the beef?" on my next one. A mixture of lager and something unpleasant on the current one
9. Bump in absentia for the man I sometimes believe is my alter ego

11.
Well done on embarking on this, you'll have a lot of fun, maybe a little frustration but ultimately you'll learn a lot. I'll be keeping an eye on how you're getting on.
Thanks for that. I'd pour yourself a strong drink before checking out the next instalment.
12. My first dip into the world of bass building. Those of a nervous disposition or with a modicum of technical skill look away now. This will require the sort of stomach and mental stamina to make it through an Andy Warhol movie. The general idea was to source all the parts off Basschat so far we have: Westfield Precision neck and tuners from WarPig; Sorry old Mex Precision body from Buff; Artec P pickups from Prosebass; Bridge from Clarky In the coming months I'll be after: White scratchplate; Musicman type pickup; Pots; Strap buttons; Shielding stuff First pics: Rear of body prior to attempt at chemical stripping Deaver Junior fully kitted out in accordance with heath and safety After much angst I took a tile file to the end of the neck to get it to fit the body Well the body wouldn't strip with the Nitromors spray but the head thankfully did. If I'd looked into this properly on here I would have known better Next instalment will include lots of sanding and decisions over finish. There may even be some shielding action but I'm not promising anything yet.
13. Mmmm. Is this in Pompey?
14.
Still going! Next is my fully functioning 1979 Peavey T-40. I've fitted a new scratchplate to this bass and it's generally used in line with its age but it's in good condition considering. I'm looking for £240. Peter
£240 for a T-40. A poetic pricing strategy. I'm down with with a raging flu at the moment and slightly delirious, so apologies if I've gone all MB1 on everyone. Very tempting by the way.
15.
Saturday Bump! Any offers? Kev
Sunday PM
16. I have to say that this would stand a good chance of winning this auction. Welcome to BassChat by the way.
17.
I've not lost my touch then.
It would seem not. Corker of a sale thread this, it'll be a shame if the bass sells. Wish I hadn't been working on my Censorship essay for the last 4 hours - mind you there's an outside chance this thread might get cited now.
18.
Doing our second pub gig in 20 years on Saturday 28th February @ The Brunswick in Worthing. Wish us luck
The hardest working band in Sussex.... ....only kidding, all the best
19. Damn. Missed another one.
20.
Dang! If you weren't so far away I'd be very interested... ever get up north?
I do. But on the train unfortunately.
21.
Im going to be in salisbury as it happens.
Let me know when and we can have a chat then
22. Second final bump. Will probably be withdrawn at the end of March once the gigging season starts for my band. Trades etc will still be entertained for the time being.
23. When's the opening party?
