had my 2x10 combo for nearly 2 years now and its brilliant. we've done a quite a few gigs together with loud drummer and 2 guitards and most of them i have done without going through the PA and with no volume problems. yes it is heavy but then thats peace of mind for road worthyness. also heres a review i did for it after 6months and my opinion hasn't changed apart from the fact that i can now say it has been very reliable and survived having a whole bottle of fog fluid emptied into the back of it. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=5855 the extra cab will give you the full watage but for practice and most gig work the combo is plenty good enough. the only time i have needed the extra cab i just DI'd into the PA and that covered it, onstage volume is plenty on its own. if you like the tone you cant go wrong. as for the funder i am assuming you mean the rumble and i looked at that as well but it was a little more and you couldnt hook up another cab. if you like the mag tone then go for it.
I'd agree with all of the above. I should add that mine has turned out to be too powerful for my needs and too cumbersome to justify keeping, so I'm going to be shifting it for something smaller in the New Year.

I'm game Bilbo. I'll ask Mrs Deaver to get me this for Christmas. If I get to page 95 without a nervous breakdown or turning to the drink again I'll double the prize and give it back to you. While I'm here any book recommendations for a fretless starter?

Hello and welcome from an ex-pat. I'm visiting the Worlds Greatest City next weekend as it happens.

Back in the '80s we had a booking at a deaf school. The bloke booking us knew the guitarist and said 'you'll be just the sort of thing they'll like' which has mystified me to this day. We had to turn the gig down, can't remember why.

If the date is good count me in. I might be able to sort out a venue in Salisbury if a Plan B is needed.

One or two of you may be familiar with the story behind this so I won't repeat it again here. Anyhow, I've had the Prosebass Fretless Humbucker a few days now - once Beedster had finished beta-testing for me - so it's time for a few words of appreciation from the owner of the Mk1 of this bass. I'm no tech head and definitely not an expert player but this is my opinion. This bass is fantastic, it's unique, plays superbly and is better built than any other bolt-on neck bass I've ever owned. I've barely been able to put it down since I've had it and I've enjoyed every second of it. A word to anyone of thinking going down the fretless route - don't dither - give it a go. I've already managed to nail some of the bands songs on the bass, I'm not showing off - it's not as difficult as you might think. Back to the bass, Prosebass and Beedster have offered different opinions to it's tone, mine would lie somewhere between the two, probably erring towards a more 'vintage' tone. Mrs Deaver asked whether or not it was the best bass I'd ever owned, it's simpler than that, it's the best anything I've ever owned. Incredible at the price really, Prosebass I salute you
