Stepping up from a Stagg EUB - recommendations please!
Hellzero replied to Al Krow's topic in EUB and Double Bass
105 cm scale for my Leduc U-Contrebasse 6, so 41.3385827 inches. French scaled with a D neck (at the body rest). -
Just in case, there's this Nanyo Bass for a silly price in Germany : Nanyo Bass Collection fretless inkl Thomastik und Gigbag | Bassic.de

You know what I love about BassChat : the members ! After a tsunami, there's never a second one.

Guess what ? My name is also Tony. 🤣

Good news, but each and every advice was to check that barrel jack and its solders from the start. 😉

Online tools and tips to fill the forms for selling abroad
Hellzero replied to Hellzero's topic in General Discussion
This is not the same thing. I've not seen the explanations on how to fill the forms or what to do to send abroad, nor links to shipping forms generators elsewhere. Sorry, but all I've seen is a complete mess without the user manual... Read the first post and open the links and you'll understand. But I understand that it has, hélas, already derailed. -

Online tools and tips to fill the forms for selling abroad

Thanks for the cautions @Steve Browning, in fact I was waiting for them. These cautions are indeed useful, but the use of CN23 as explained is for private persons, not business. Try a simulation and you'll see that the system can recommend the use of a CN22 instead when it's enough. If you're in the business, as stated in their guide and as I wrote, trust the carrier. I always did my forms filling by hand before, but these tools are very helpful and time savers, and also because hand writing can be very hard to decipher sometimes and subject to interpretation. For those hesitant or not trusting themselves (or myself), they can ask for specific questions, I'm sure you'll answer very friendly. -
Being it from U.K. to Europe and the rest of the world or the other way, here are some very useful guides, tips and tools. First of all, a guide for selling outside U.K. for everyone : https://www.sendcloud.co.uk/whitepapers/ Everything you need is there too, just scroll down. Their CN22/CN23 online generator is just a no time waster tool, just as is their HS tariff finder. CN22/CN23 (better use a CN23 even if it's not mandatory, type N.A. in "Business name" if you're a private person and the same for the "Invoice number" and "Incoterms", then tick Yes in "Shipping with national carrier" for a complete CN23) generator : https://www.sendcloud.co.uk/shipping-tools/customs-forms/ HS tariff finder : https://www.sendcloud.co.uk/shipping-tools/hs-codes/ All you need to add is a Pro Forma invoice clearly stating that the seller and buyer are not subject to VAT if you are a private seller or an official invoice if you are in the business (VAT registered) and a copy of the proof of payment so the customs can match the values. All these in, theoretically 2 copies, but read for specific requirements. I also always add, in the comments, the type of wood(s) used for an instrument with their scientific name (almost always in Latin, check the Internet). If some woods used are on the CITES list, you'll need to join a certificate in 2 copies too, but again check carefully what is needed. For foreigners, always fill the forms in English for faster customs clearance wherever you're located. With these informations, you'll be able to send easily anything below 8000 Euros (check for the official value in GBP). Above this amount, it's a bit more trickier. With all the right informations provided, the customs clearance will be faster than you might have thought. And all these informations, downloads, finders and generators are free !

So, now that everything is clear, should we get back on track and give the answers @JapanAxe is waiting for : comments about early Ampeg B15's and their different tonal characteristics. 😊

What poor reaction ? Ok, now I'm really fed up with all these insinuations about the fact I'm not fluent in English. I don't use a translator as I don't need it because I studied English, German, Dutch, Luxemburgish, Italian, Spanish, Latin and ancient Greek. It's not because my mother tongue is French that I can't be fluent in any other languages. So, yes, I take it as an insult and I'm asking you to think twice before pretending you are the only ones able to speak English. Ok, tension doesn't flow, it's current, but you understood clearly what I was talking about. It has nothing to do with the fact of being fluent in a foreign language, but with a technical misuse of a term that I should have corrected if I had taken the time to read back what I wrote. My fault, I admit it, but there was no need for a language crucifixion, nor unfounded allegations. Ite missa est.

For 14 pounds, I'll take a truckload of these. 😁 That said, the one in France is nicer and seems in better condition and way more cheaper than the two on Reverb.

It's definitely a Travis Bean...

You won't be disappointed. Try the two positions of the side switch as it could also become a fuzzy overdrive. 😉

A friend of mine is in negotiation to buy that #729 Travis Bean TB2000...

There's a very nice one, with a beautiful flamed koa body, for sale in France since yesterday : https://www.zikinf.com/annonces/annonce-1898924

Buy by Music Store as they anticipated this situation a while ago and have "bought" DV247 which is their legal U.K. branch. This way, you'll be buying in the U.K. without the hassle... https://www.dv247.com/en_GB/GBP/history-of-dv247

I'm always astonished to read these kind of comments that are simply insulting, but having seen your location, I fully understand your superiority complex, don't worry. Sorry for derailing your thread @JapanAxe, but I really can't stand this stupid sectarianism.
