  1. Then there's the AFR series, light and ergonomic too. This is the new series : https://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-dept/bass-guitars/modern-bass-guitars/ibanez-afr4fmp-ntf-4-string-bass-guitar-in-natural-flat Or, if you like the more standard look, the Sivcak basses are pretty light (my fiver weights exactly 4 kilos) with very high specs and really fantastic sounding. Quite hard to find on the second hand market though... An example : http://www.sollerguitars.com/index.php?option=com_flexicontent&view=item&cid=29:seria-osc&id=596:osc-ii-4-067118&Itemid=101&lang=en
  2. According to Bdonkey Direct there's a 9 month wait for custom orders. Indeed, the time to reprogram the CNC machine. 😁
  3. Try the Ibanez EHB1500. A friend of mine has the 5 strings version and it only weights 3.1 kilos, so the 4 strings version will be less. It sounds very good, with Nordstrand pickups and Ibanez preamp, it's very easy to play and you don't feel it on your shoulder. It's also very ergonomic like most of headless basses. The price tag new is quite cheap for such a high quality bass : https://m.thomann.de/gb/ibanez_ehb1500_def.htm Here's the link to Ibanez website : https://www.ibanez.com/eu/products/detail/ehb1500_1p_01.html There's also a thread here on these new headless series by Ibanez : Worth checking out. 😉
  4. Each time I thin down the herd, it's getting worse : I buy more basses with the money... as music is my hobby, being playing or listening, and like @Lozz196 I don't drink nor smoke. And it's always the same money, simply turning, so no family money is ever used. Ideally, I could end up with only one sixer fretless and my sixer EUB. Ideally... I played as a semi-pro, meaning I still had a job, for a decade with only one fretless bass. So ideally, yes ! But I love to try new basses or fretless things, so I'll keep having way too many basses.
  5. In France, they even create their own streets names ... only known by themselves. I had some parcels coming back and then sent to the real official address at their expense. And not mentioning the holidays where you look for a street that doesn't exist. 😤
  6. Indeed. I've been shipping basses and other items all over the world for years, but you have to admit that, in the UK, you have a very bad habit of complicating the addressee. I mean a correct address only needs this : Name and Surname Company name, if there's one Street (or anything that's close to this) and Number Zip Code and City. There's absolutely no need for the county, the ancient county name, the big city nearby or the neighbourhood name !?! Yes, each and every time I get an address in the UK, it's a nice game to put it the right way without all useless data you like to add. 🤨
  7. Wow, that's a bargain ! Have a free bump on me.
  8. Go to a bike shop and ask for a box. They have plenty of them and they fit basses perfectly.
  9. Indeed Russ. No shipping, no selling. Sad, but true.
  10. Hum, hum. "On hold" signifie que la basse est réservée...
  11. There's is this great preamp for sale here : Why not put it in your bass ? And I'm not related to the seller in any way. 😉
  12. These Delano JMVC 4 FE/M2 big powerful magnets pickups are quite dark indeed when used with 250 KOhms pots and 47nF capacitor, which is a standard wiring. Putting 500 KOhms or even 1MOhms pots with 22nF capacitor will brighten up the sound a lot.
  13. Nope, this is not the only ACG Harlot Single Cut, here is the Harlot R one that I used to own, not the same single cut, but a single cut...
  14. Want to enter the audiophile world, check these prices by one of the most renowned manufacturer. Their top range power cord : https://www.transparentcable.com/collections/power-power-cords/products/opus-power-cord Their top range digital cable : https://www.transparentcable.com/collections/digital-audio/products/xl-75-ohm-digital-link Their top range XLR cables : https://www.transparentcable.com/collections/analog-audio-interconnects/products/magnum-opus-balanced-interconnect Their top range speaker cables (you need at least a pair) : https://www.transparentcable.com/collections/analog-audio-speaker-cables/products/magnum-opus-speaker-cable Yes, they do sell these cables and quite easily in fact. Welcome to the audiophile world ! Should you have more money to spend, they can make a special one just for you, and that's only a starting point, only the sky is the limit or, maybe, the last restaurant before the end of the world : https://www.transparentcable.com/collections/custom-diy 🤐
  15. I sold a complete headless system (tuning bridges and headpieces) to John. Communication was really easy and I really liked the old fashion way of doing things. Highly recommended and another credit to BassChat. I would deal again with John, for sure.
  16. What's the weight and strings spacing at bridge and nut, please ?
  17. Sold my 2002 Music Man Stingray 5 to Flavius. Always a pleasure to deal with and such a nice person. I was even paid with real money ( 😉 ) and can now buy some other basses. Heil to Lemmy. Cheers Flavius.
  18. Sorry but silver (106%) is not a better electrical conductor than copper (101%), that's a hi-fi preconceived idea, even if there's a slightly theorical advantage, you won't hear it and the cost difference for the same section will be prohibitive, without speaking of the tensile properties. Agree for the gold contact though. Don't start the idiophile (French joke) thing please. I'm fed up by the permanent audiophile non sense. 😤 Check this concerning oxygen free copper : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen-free_copper
  19. The Sunday Music Man 5 HH Limited Edition bass in Ivory White with gold hardware and matched headstock :
  20. @ped : you don't seem to know the high end hi-fi world. These are low price items made in China, most of the time, with a very good marketing team behind. Deep sh*t, or snake oil, at the price of gold. 😉 A cable with excellent quality oxygen free copper (the best electrical conductor known to date) and Neutrik connectors is perfect. And it's quite cheap.
  21. And here my 1979 Kramer 450B Fretless (defretted, of course), fully original with the original (heavy) latte macchiato hard case. Fantastic sounding even with more than dead strings...
  22. Bought Mike MarkBass Alain Caron Super Combo K1. Everything was perfect, with constant communication, from the start to the delivery in the original box with a Hotcovers included. And the amp is really brand new ! I will deal again with Mike for sure. Thanks mate and, of course, highly recommended.
