  1. Steven Wilson has also played with Mick Karn (not Kahn @ambient ) on the Bestial Cluster album. He's also known as the barefoot player. 😉 His music is often described as depressive by the press, but as he said when performing live, there must be loads of depressed people around as his concerts are always crowded if not sold out... He's also a gifted sound wizard having remastered more albums than most sound engineers, including King Crimson's ones. Yes, the British best kept secret indeed, must be 001 in fact. 😎 Check this out with former Japan members, the JBK project : And watch his feet...
  2. 😂 Can't wait to see the new tour... And hear the new album.
  3. Chris is a fantastic guy to deal with. And the Leduc's are terrific basses and these fretless basses are THE best fretless basses.
  4. Alan bought my Ibanez AFR A104F that wasn't for sale. It's now in very good hands. The transaction was flawless, great communication, very nice person to talk to and a true connoisseur. Another credit to BassChat. This forum is such a good place, and not only for the marketplace. You meet very friendly persons too who become often friends. Bye bye 'til the next time.
  5. My new Noguera Harmonie Standard Custom 6 Fretless with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard (my favourite wood for fretless fingerboards).
  6. As often said, I wrote a mémoire about the electric guitars and basses (in French) in 2001 : https://drive.google.com/open?id=1MH6uXdr4PAOTlt9h-vh1aVaeeYCTSfPj I did loads of research for it.
  7. All Supertramp Roger Hodgson period is fantastic. Listening in chronological way makes you understand their way of composing and the complexity of their music. I like to listen to these albums in a row, they are so full and so well recorded. Too bad, they took different roads because of ... America.
  8. Those back problems have been harder than ever... Thanks matey.
  9. Due to severe back problems (66% officially disabled because of it) and right shoulder injury (non-operable capsulitis from which, after more than 3 years, I will never fully recover), I'm selling all my basses over 4.5 kilos. I've also considerably lowered the price for a quick sale due the "modification". LAURUS Quasar SL 190 Grafite 6 Fretless with modified "headstock" thanks to some delicate courier. See below the link with the explanations. Price is set accordingly and even for Pierluigi CAZZOLA (LAURUS owner), it's a nice work that suits the bass. Straight sale only, no trades at all ! Asking price including shipping fully insured with tracking number to your place in these European countries (ask for other countries) : Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France (excluding French overseas departments and territories), Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom : £1150 GBP !!! (new price at the time with the original "headstock" was around £4500 GBP...) In fully working condition and very good overall condition. Here are the specifications : Body : mahogany body with tonal chambers (the most expensive model) Neck : 5 pieces neck through maple and purple heart Fingerboard : real graphite (carbon, if you prefer) Fretless : 24 positions Headstock : headless with massive brass ABM headpiece Pickup : Bartolini radiused made to measure for Laurus Preamp : Bartolini TCT Controls : volume with push-pull for active/passive, bas, mids and treble Tuners : at the bridge as it's headless Bridge : 2 pieces Laurus Strings spacing at bridge : 19 mm Nut : brass Strings spacing at nut : 9.5 mm Knobs : original Laurus Scale : 34" Hardware colour : black with gold headpiece Truss rod : 1 (fully working) Finish : transparent gloss Land of craftsmanship : Italy Serial number : QSL0400516 Year : 2004 Weight : 4.6 kilos Action : from 1.5 mm under the C string to 2.5 mm under the B string at the octave (can go lower, but was perfect for me) Will come with the original normally used Laurus gigbag. Non-smoking environment as usual. I'm only selling this Laurus SL 190 Grafite 6 fretless because of my health issues, the modified "headstock" having turned it into a perfectly balanced bass. And it sings wonderfully with loads of mwah and that typical Bartolini fretless sound. The bass has been fully set up professionally by Christophe LEDUC. It has a new battery and is fitted with a (now) used set of Elixir nickel plated Nanoweb coating strings (32 - 45 - 65 - 80 - 100 - 130), which fit the bass to perfection. Link to the explanations about the modified "headstock" : For those interested, it will come with the remains of the headstock without the headpieces, but wit the Laurus logo. What you see is what you get ! Look at the pictures taken under different angles to see the real very good condition and the usual marks. Don't hesitate to ask for more.
  10. @SpondonBassed : will your project be a headless one as I might have all the hardware needed (brand new, bought for another aborted project) ?
  11. I'm quite an expert too for being banned too. Should you need help @Stub Mandrel, just ask !
  12. Nice one @Bilbo... The Indonesian kid is 9 years old and will suffer from early arthritis, tendinitis and shoulder capsulitis in a few years. That's the very sad part of the story, but no one seems to care. That said Marco Pistone puts more feeling and precision at the same speed, ... on a fretted bass.
  13. It's still torture to my eyes. The poor kid has even been taught the face to have and how to behave to look like the "real" one(s). There's nothing negative in my comment(s), simply a gutted feeling. This kid will be emotionally and physically destroyed for his whole life by this circus thing.
  14. I understand that, but for me it's only the programmable EQ section that's interesting, I have absolutely no use of the rest. The fully parametric programmable EQ and the computerised ones are a great plus over the first version for sure, but not at tree times the price.
  15. Urm, urm, the price is also delirious and we'll have to wait 4 to 6 weeks for the first delivery ! https://m.thomann.de/gb/source_audio_sa_270_one_series_eq2.htm I'll forget about this one..
  16. Is it available over here now, because I was waiting for the release of this new version instead if buying the first generation ?
  17. Dan bought my heavily upgraded German Warwick Corvette Standard Fretless. It all went smooth, fast and easy with perfect communication all the way. Highly recommended and very nice person to deal with. Enjoy your new toy. 😉
