  1. Already have a thread on my own 😜 :
  2. The description reminds me of some past events... 🤣
  3. Traded basses with Gregory. We met in a local pastry bakery tea room I knew half way and had a very nice moment talking basses and other things. A true gentleman and a very nice and honest person to deal with. Another credit for BassChat. Hope to see you again Gregory. Cheers
  4. If it can clean the string at the same time, then I'll opt for the fast fret. 😁
  5. With lubricant if it doesn't fit well. Ok, I already have my coat...
  6. Great, but you might get a visit to the court thanks to EBS... 😎
  7. Farfadet is really nice, but you have to have foreign language skills.
  8. I guess Dwarf was already taken. 😁
  9. WARWICK ROCKCASE RC 10626B Beast Bass Case. Yes, it's the biggest factory made hard case for your really out of this earth bass... For sale only. Asking price including shipping fully insured with tracking number to your place in these European countries (ask for other countries) : Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France (excluding French overseas departments and territories), Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom : £90 GBP !!! New price is £138 GBP by Thomann... In fully working condition (can I say that for a hard case ?) with the two original keys and in close to new condition. Non-smoking environment as usual. Bought new to send a very big bass and got it back, so only used twice. Here is the link to this monster hard case with pricing and all the specifications needed : https://www.thomann.de/gb/rockcase_rc10626b_beast_basscase.htm What you see is what you get, except the meters ! Look at the pictures to see the real condition : close to new condition. Don't hesitate to ask for more.
  10. I've been sending earlier this week a bass in my now well known bomb proof package (11 kilos) from Belgium to Norway in express delivery (next day) for a bit less than £60 GBP including customs paperwork as Norway is out of the EEC...
  11. Left one used to be mine, a great Instrument.
  12. Sold Bernt my JP Basses Lucii 6 Fretless. Very kind person to deal with. Ultra fast payment. Always responsive as I had some forms to fill for this out of EEC transaction. And icing on the cake, the bass arrived today, exactly for his birthday ! Karma is good ! Enjoy this hyper rare and terrific sounding bass, Bernt. Cheers ! 🥂
  13. It's quite common to have an overwound bridge pickup to get an even sound when both pickups are balanced. It's not super overwound that said, just slightly. GLWYS for that bargain.
  14. Excellent bass at a more than bargain price and great playing too. Really sounds like the vintage Fender's I had, but with a bit more definition in the notes. A total success. Someone will have a terrific bass !
  15. I think the best pedal you could buy is the the Two Notes Torpedo C.A.B. This first version will do what you're looking for and even more : https://m.thomann.de/gb/two_notes_torpedo_cab.htm Damian Erskine is swearing by this for exactly the same reasons as you, but don't watch his "demo" video as he recognises himself that he's a newbee about technology and explaining it... And it turned into a total mess.
  16. New BMW M8 Coupé ordered then ? 😎
  17. @Woodwind : This smaller combo can compete with the PJB Briefcase without any problem, so good for rehearsals and small pub gigs or playing acoustic music. For this there's enough headroom, but for larger gigs or more brutal music I would choose the 2x8" as it moves more air and has twice the power power. Hope this helps.
  18. There's another option for great sounding battery powered combos : GSS. The system below will deliver 200 Watts through a 2x8" cabinet. Just add the extra lithium battery and you'll get a very versatile ultra portable mains-free mini rig. The "combo" : https://www.guitarsoundsystems.com/gss-double8-2-x-8-bass-cabinet-c2x20174304 The battery pack : https://www.guitarsoundsystems.com/7s35v2-intelligent-lithium-battery-pack-for-guitar-sound-systems-mini-bass-amps-c2x18346407 I've owned the combo below with the battery pack and it was a delight to play (but more designed for double bass) : https://www.guitarsoundsystems.com/gss-06b400-mini-bass-amp-c2x15043753 To me it sounded better than the PJB Briefcase that I owned too, and is way much lighter too. Should I need to play mains-free again, I'll go for their 2x8" "combo" with the battery pack.
  19. @Happy Jack and others, the BoxKing PowerBank can be found easily by Thomann under the name Falken 1 Mega Power Bank (it's the one I'm using) : https://m.thomann.de/gb/kse_falken_1.htm?o=0&search=1596567573
  20. Found this while browsing the internet : https://onlybass.com/topic/29425-vigier-serie-i-ii-et-iii-comparaison-avis/ There's a guy called @ped writing... 😉 I had all fretless models with the Delta metal fingerboard, even the Excess. Terrific basses, but I've always wanted a never made Delta metal sixer fretless. That said I ordered (many many many moons ago) and owned a Leduc sixer with a Vigier Nautilus preamp. I was a kind of unnatural instrument fighting with itself. I had to remove the Nautilus preamp that was acting weird and even Patrice Vigier admitted that it wasn't that reliable. Like @ped, I've never seen a series II fiver...
  21. As a fretless player : Wherever I Lay my Hat (that's my Home) by Paul Young, not that complicating, but you have to play with lots of feeling. And another that I like to play : Papa was a rolling Stone by The Temptations. To me the most difficult bass line to play correctly all along. You can get lost if you don't focus. And there's a trap in the notes as most people play it wrong.
  22. I was about to write to check Levy's straps too @Al Krow. I had one that I bought at the Musik Messe in Frankfurt at the Levy boot many moons ago. A great strap too that lasted around 10 years of quite intensive playing, rehearsing and touring (before falling in pieces). So if they are cheaper, go on, buy one. I still have what looks like an indestructible strap too, but not sold anymore : the Gerald Reese SlapStrap. I also tried the Gruv Gear DuoStrap as used by Damian Erskine, but didn't like having the bass just under my chin (I'm 1,82m with large shoulders and the usual vintage belly 😁 ). There was a SlapStrap for sale a while ago here :
  23. Thanks for sharing that @odysseus. I ordered their last record immediately. Can't wait to listen to it. @Lololita and me have loved this little show.
  24. I'm listening to the silence right now after the performance of Dakhabrakha and enjoying it as it still is Dakhabrakha.
  25. @Al Krow Did you check Richter straps as they make very large and comfortable ones ? I have a Springbreak III which is 11cm wide and well padded ! And it's made in Germany. https://www.richterstraps.com/screen/page/springbreak3-nappa
