STOLEN in London SW16 area: 2003 Fender Deluxe P5
Hellzero replied to thack's topic in General Discussion
Hope you get it back, mate. I know the feeling having had one bass stolen. 🤞 -
CONKLIN Groove Tools GT6, originally a GT7 that became a GT8 and now is a GT6, the missing link. Would prefer selling it, hence the low price, but trades are always welcome, especially for a fretless bass : 4, 6 or 8 (no octave strings) strings unlined are my preferences. If you want a wide strings spacing bass, this one is for you. Sounds like a full Bartolini fitted bass, with loads of bass and precise highs. Also has SIMS Custom Led's installed. Asking price including shipping fully insured with tracking number to your place in these European countries (ask for other countries) : Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France (excluding French overseas departments and territories), Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom : £850 GBP !!! In fully working condition and in excellent overall condition. Here are the specifications : Body : 2 pieces swamp ash with a bookmatched flamed maple top Neck : bolt on 7 pieces of wenge and purpleheart Fingerboard : purpleheart with side (and also front) Led dots Frets : 24 (no wear at all) Headstock : 3 + 3 shape (angled) with butterfly and cross inlay back lit by a Led Pickups : 2 active Bartolini P4 Preamp : Conklin/Bartolini 2 bands Controls : volume, blend, bass, treble, switch for the Led's Tuners : Gotoh Bridge : brass Warwick two pieces Strings spacing at bridge : 20 mm Nut : bone Strings spacing at nut : 11 mm Knobs : metal Scale : 34 inches Hardware colour : black Truss rods : 2 (fully working) Output jack : locking Neutrik Finish : gloss Land of craftsmanship : Korea Serial number : none Year : discontinued in 2005 is all I can say Weight : 5.4 kilos Action : from 1.5 mm under the C string to 2 mm under the B string at 12th fret (can go lower, but was perfect for me) Will come with a brand new semi-rigid case modified to accommodate the very long bass side horn. Non-smoking environment as usual. I'm only selling this bass because I don't need it anymore being a fretless player and it's too heavy for my broken back. Here is the long story short : I got it as a GT8, but the strings spacing was too narrow, and as I like wide strings spacing I decided to have it converted to a non existing GT6 aka the missing link, removing the two extra tuners, cutting the unnecessary headstock and replacing the existing tuners with better quality real Gotoh. I ordered a made to measure Hipshot 20 mm strings spacing bridge that was never made after 3 months, so I opted for a Warwick 2 pieces bridge instead. This bass is really easy to play and really deserves the name wide neck. The bass has been fully set up professionally by Christophe LEDUC. It has two new batteries (one for the preamp and one for the Led's) and has been fitted with a brand new set of D'Orazio nickel-plated steel round wound strings (30 - 45 - 65 - 85 - 105 - 125), which fit the bass to perfection and will also be delivered with a spare set of these exact same strings fitted on another bass for less than one hour. Here's the link to the original ad : Here Billie Jean played by Johan when it was still a GT8. Hope you don't mind @therealting : Billie Jean - Conklin Custom 8 String Bass.mp3 What you see is what you get ! Look at the pictures taken under different angles to see the real condition : almost in new condition with no visible dings. Don't hesitate to ask for more.

And here is some sound of this very bass :
-
No, it wasn't his first bass. Here is the answer of the man himself after having seen the photo : "Hey Tony, thanks a lot!!! You made my day. That's a very early work of mine but not one of the first ones. I build it for Tomek at the time he was a member of Polish fuzzion band "Set Off" Wow again it brought some of the best memories of my life. Thanks again!!! Cheers from Nashville Tennessee Rybski"
-
I deeply think it was his first bass.
-
Yep, was not bad sounding at all. The pickups and the preamp were handmade too. Only the bridge, tuners, strap buttons, switches, output jack, screws and buttons were bought from an official supplier.

I found back a photo of my original Rybski fretless totally handmade in Poland and dated on the 4th of August 1987...

So am I. The price is ridiculously low without having all the hassle of the Alish*tcrap as there will be a full legal warranty... Very tempted to order a sixer.
-
This is now fixed : it's rosewood, which is the official fingerboard wood for fretted Wal's. That and the double crossed checking made by Martin at the Bass Gallery confirm it was originally fretted. So, back to original condition and even better resell price (just in case). Very well done @Zengineer ! 👍
-
Mick, it was originally fretted as Martin at the Bass Gallery said, so no harm done on the contrary as it's really back to its original condition. I was also a bit sceptical about the walnut fingerboard for a Wal fretless. Did Martin confirm this wood type ? Well done @Zengineer, says another fretless player and a huge Mick Karn fan, who bought the same fretless Wal MkI three times...

YAMAHA TRB-5P from the 23rd of August 1995. This model was discontinued in 1996. Would prefer selling it, but trades are always welcome, especially for a fretless bass : 4, 6 or 8 (no octave strings) strings unlined are my preferences. Simply the best P/J fiver on the market with the extra piezos that you can really use, way far better than my previous BB2025X and to date the best TRB I've ever owned. The Yamaha TRB-5P is still the main bass used by Abraham LABORIEL, there must be a reason... Asking price including shipping fully insured with tracking number to your place in these European countries (ask for other countries) : Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France (excluding French overseas departments and territories), Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom : £1100 GBP !!! In fully working condition and very good overall condition for its age. Here are the specifications : Body : 2 wings of flamed maple with rosewood thick veneer core Neck through : 5 pieces of maple and mahogany Fingerboard : ebony Frets : 24 (has been professionally refretted) Headstock : 3 + 2 shape (angled) with rosewood top Pickups : 1 Yamaha BP-Z5 piezos bridge (one per string) + 1 Yamaha YJC52 + 1 Yamaha YPC52 Preamp : Yamaha BP-Z 2 bands Controls : volume, magnetic pickups blend, bass, treble, magnetics to piezos blend, piezos low cut switch (-12 db at 50 Hz) Tuners : Gotoh/Yamaha Bridge : Yamaha BP-Z5 Strings spacing at bridge : 19 mm Nut : bone Strings spacing at nut : 9 mm Knobs : original Yamaha Scale : 33 7/8 inches (860 mm) Hardware colour : gold (tarnished) Truss rod : 1 (fully working) Finish : amber gloss (has turned to some orange shade) Land of craftsmanship : Japan Serial number : 3O23075 Year : 23rd of August 1995 Weight : 4.4 kilos Action : from 1.5 mm under the G string to 2 mm under the B string at 12th fret (can go lower, but was perfect for me) Will come with a brand new semi-rigid case. Non-smoking environment as usual. I'm only selling this terrific P/J fiver because I really have problems with odd numbers basses. I know... My loss is your gain. The bass has been fully set up professionally by Christophe LEDUC. It has a new battery and has been fitted with a brand new set of Newtone Diamond Stainless Steel Hex Core strings (42 - 60 - 75 - 96 - 120), which fit the bass to perfection. This fantastic Yamaha will also come with a brand new spare Newtone Diamond Stainless Steel Hex Core strings set (42 - 60 - 75 - 96 - 120), with two high C's, just in case. What you see is what you get ! Look at the pictures taken under different angles in natural light to see the real condition and the real colour : some knocks, dings and dongs due to its age (almost 25 years), but nothing serious. It has been professionally refretted by a previous owner. The ouput jack has been changed from a barrel one to a Telecaster type, which is much more convenient. Don't hesitate to ask for more.
