  1. In fact, it's an Ibanez BL-800 BY (the same as the BL-700, except for the white pickguard and the laminated mahogany body due to the solid colour) in Burgundy red rom 1982 with the headstock reshaped (butchered), missing brass knobs, missing brass bridge and in poor condition. Not worth more than 100 GBP, the kind of bass you find in crash converters very often, absolutely not a collector, especially in this butchered version.
  2. Urm, urm, there's one for sale here on BassChat, in close to pristine condition for 350 GBP :
  3. It's an Ibanez Blazer BL-700 from the 80's with a reshaped headstock as I wrote earlier :
  4. Yes, that's Julian Cope with The Teardrop Explodes. Saw them in the 80's, but have seen Julian Cope many times for the Saint Julian tour. He wasn't playing bass on stage anymore, except for some Teardrop Explodes tunes when he played the bass, ... because he was climbing everywhere... Remember this : And this :
  5. So let's not forget Curt Smith from Tears for Fears. In case, some of you don't know him, here's one of their early hit :
  6. Yep, always loved his way of playing (the same thing) on the two first records, like this :
  7. Wow, lovely Jens. Ken Lawrence basses are among the best you can find. You can deal in total confidence with Jens, there won't be any problem. GLWYS.
  8. No more TLRT's. Love Budgie too. Very ramjamesque sounding and built. Reminds me also of Randy California's Spirit. Who was there first ?
  9. And so on with a wink. XYZ... (YYZ). Got it ? I know, I'm wearing my coat all day long.
  10. 3 pages and not mention of Bootsy Collins ! Have we been taking too much sugar ? Fixed !
  11. Geddy Lee has already been mentioned without photo, because they have been ... moving pictures. XYZ, my friend. 👌
  12. I don't know why Richard Hell was considered a punk when he was making pop music, and singing as bad as a punk for sure.
  13. Saw him live too, but the last tour was disappointing. Must be the reason I "forgot" him, but I've always loved his "singing"' and of course playing. 👍
  14. Mick Karn was THE fretless bass player (to me) and also a good to very good lead singer, depending on the album and the tour. Check anything for the bass and Saday, Maday for instance to hear him sing (here live and with quite poor quality) :
  15. Sorry to disappoint you, but it's just an Ibanez Blazer (certainly BL-700) with a reshaped headstock. Better give it to your friend as it's not worth more than the price you paid long ago, in that condition...
  16. Trevor Horn is also a great lead singer and bass player, a gifted producer too, but lots of people don't seem to know it. And the biggest Chris Squire fan.
