Sold two TC Electronic Polytune Clip tuners to Mike. Ultra fast payment compared to the ultra dumb and slow driver not able to deliver a parcel even with a map attached to the parcel. Amazing ! KRK Ergo can be you used with any speakers (with an amp) or amplified speakers and is absolutely not an equaliser, but a Lyngdorf Room Perfect (with licence paid) derived system as they use it up to 500 Hz in the Ergo... Had one long time ago and always carefuly read all manuals where it's well explained.

And that's it will do, remove the room out of the equation. Then you can dial in your favourite eq and start playing. This removal has be performed before starting to play, of course. Looks like you don't understand what it means to get rid of the main problem : the room. And again this is what a real sound engineer does in each and every venue before the band gets in for the balance. Thanks for taking me for an idiot, by the way.

Correcting the defaults of the room, whatever they are.

Been a great fan of Eric Johnson 3 decades ago. Roscoe Beck with his 5 strings wide strings spacing signature model on this record, but not on all titles. I think it's not him on Desert Rose, but Kyle Brock. Need to find it back and give it a new run after 2 decades to see if still can listen to that kind of music.

For room problems, there's the Room Perfect system by Lyngdorf. Got this integrated in my hi-fi Lyngdorf amplifier, because I want to have a high-fidelity restitution. The system is working flawlessly and literally removes the room of the equation making your system sounding totally neutral. I bought this amp 6 or 7 years ago when I still was in an audiophile (and sometimes an idiophile) and it cured my hi-fi gas definitely. This Room Perfect is partly integrated in the KRK Ergo, so at least the PA will sound right and your audience will have an extraordinary sound. The Lag Collection basses were their flagship models back in the days when Lag was still a little luthiers shop. These were high priced instruments with top specs. Sadly Lag bankrupted in the mid to late nineties after a production delocation in Asia. The new Lâg has nothing in common with the original Lag quality wise. Some clever guy named Michel Chavaria, who was the guy that started it all, just put an "^" on the "a", using original Lag brand lustre.

Our drummer made us a better joke. He never came at a festival when it was our turn to play, but has been seen in the crowd... He was so high he didn't even remember he had to play. He never played with us again.

I travel is a strange dance floor new wave hit that I love so much. I still remember when New Gold Dream (81, 82, 83, 84) was released. What an impressive album, still up to date today with these Derek's typical bass lines moving the woofers a lot. I still can see the big speakers moving a lot at Caroline Music in Louvain-la-Neuve where the record was played non stop all day long. Delightful. After that, the maxi single Waterfront went out with that hypnotic bass line. Was studying in Brussels back then and was a mate of La Strada record seller there. Told him the following album will be impressive. And it was as Sparkle in the rain still has this powerful sound, but not the surprising sound and composition of the previous. There was something in the air or more precisely in the record groove annoucing what was going to happen... And then came the announcement of Derek quitting the band. The next album came out and was impressively disappointing. The magic had gone with the bass... So sad. That said I never liked the brother of Bun Kerr. Such an a**hole.

Don't need these with the previous page mentioned Bose L1 system and it's working more than well. 😉 One system for all band including a PA that is also the returns. What you hear is what your audience ear. Easy, no ?

My parents, as they hated the noise I was making back then when I was 16. Guitar was too clean and acceptable, so I switched to fretless bass : horrible when you start and play out of tune. Youth rebellion, man. 😁

Another solution is the Bose L1 system. We used it for all our small gigs without PA. The advantage of this system is that you have return and PA in the same package. I was very sceptical about it, but once we tried it in a store (we made 400 kilometers to try it) we bought it immediately. And Bose service is top notch. The L1 amplifiers burned (really) because of an electrical power surge and they fixed it within the week as we needed it. Now there are plenty of declinations of this model, just pick up the one that best suits you. For extra comfort for the bass, you can add a Barefaced One 10 for your ears and the extra mids you'll get.

With the talented Masami Tsuchiya on guitar. Still have his LP and also very rare CD : Rice Music, with my two favourite fretless bass players, Mick Karn and Percy Jones. Told you I was a fan of both, no ?

Amplified wedge with tons of mids if you want to hear yourself. Won't be hi-fi sounding, nor accurate to your core sound, but you'll hear what you're playing very easily.

Most of the headstock repairs are poor job done by someone not having a clue what he is doing. I know that it won't break were it's been glued, but if it had broken once, it will break again. This means that something hasn't been taken into account. So at least 60% value loss.

Easy for me. Hot : fretless, the more strings the better, 20 mm strings spacing at the bridge, luthiers basses Cold : fretted, particularly those intended for slap only 🤮
