  1. And Rolf Spuler own Avalon guitars were so innovative more than 30 years ago...
  2. Yep, but the originals have something appealing and especially two fretless models : this A104F and the A105F. This one is number 62 and is in pristine condition. It will never leave me.
  3. And I even have the original 1991 hard case that came with it...
  4. I had a Stradi Symphony 5 fretless. Nice sounding, but awfully way too round neck. Some youth flaws in the design like neck diving and an E tuner not aligned. The bass was not really ergonomical. The piezo was certainly not the best one too. And the brand name is a bit ... ambitious.
  5. Let's make a slightly clarification concerning parametric EQ. A full parametric EQ includes, gain, frequency sweep AND Q factor adjustment. A semi parametric EQ does not have the Q factor. So what's the Q factor ? It's basically the width of the chosen frequency. Most people can't use full parametric EQ correctly because they don't understand how it works. Hence getting outer space sounds. If you know how to use it, it's a fantastic tool; if you don't, it's a sound destroyer. A semi parametric with a fixed Q factor adjustment badly chosen will be a real pain in the *ss to use. The Noll preamp you're talking about @B.Flat is a semi parametric EQ and the Q factor is not indicated, as (quite always) usual...
  6. Traded a bass again with Flavius. Bomb proof parcel, bass as described. Fast, easy and smooth trade as usual. Now I got my old Laurus Quasar SL190 Grafite 6 fretless back, and with a better look now. Cheers Flavius.
  7. Bought Armando original Ibanez AFR A104F in pristine condition. As usual, it was a fast, smooth and easy deal. The bass was highly secured in it's original form fitted case in a bomb proof parcel (or maybe virus proof, these days 🤣 ). Thanks for this marvellous transaction. A true credit to BassChat.
  8. Being a fan of Indian music, like @chrisbass13, I've listened to the 3 first tracks yesterday evening and, even, if it's complex rhythmic music, it's totally relaxing. Give it a try girls and guys, discovering John McLaughlin musical universe through this album is a very good start. And for those who like music with more "muscle", listen to his jazz-rock era of the 70's, you won't be disappointed.
  9. I think I'll order a new 18 strings bass this 1 meter strings spacing at the bridge. I need some firewood for next year.
  10. The link : https://mahavishnujohnmclaughlin.bandcamp.com/album/john-mclaughlin-shankar-mahadevan-zakir-hussain Thanks to my friend Christoph @chrisbass13 for sharing this. When some people are taking the wrong tracks, other people are showing the right path.
  11. Yep, a complete stereo system (cd player with GPS, tons of speakers, subwoofer and even a back camera plate) for my Opel Frontera something like 7 years ago. Never opened the boxes and still have everything bar the Frontera. 🤣
  12. Yep, Gibbons is cool and he has not stool up in *ss...
  13. Pots dating is quite efficient. Try this : http://www.vintagehofner.co.uk/factfiles/bodydate/potcode.html
  14. I can't see my phone screen anymore. 🤤
  15. Just the notes or the range ? 🤣
  16. Nope, the shape is wrong, I prefer a good set of these :
  17. Knew it, girlie. I'm using 3.0 Jim Dunlop Big Stubby. 💪
  18. Does it do the karate thing when you push in the back ? 😁
  19. I bought an original Glockenklang Bass Art preamp (first generation) from Christian. A fast, smooth and easy deal. Christian is a real pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended. 20. Are you sure you understood what I wrote in this particular context...
  21. And undamaged, of course.
  22. And refund him through PayPal when you have your sax in hands and are sure it's really yours...
  23. We were invited to play at a folk festival. We were a prog-jazz-fusion band. I didn't understand why they were calling us for this festival, but it was well paid. We said yes. The folk guys said us after the balance : "Wow what a sound.” When we started to play, everyone left the venue, I mean we really played for the tables and chairs. Even the sound engineer left. They came back when we had finished, saying : "The sound was better outside". No kidding. And yes, we got our money...
  24. The only Kickstarter thing I bought was a suspended system with a flash and a remote control for smartphones. Took two years to get it and it was utter Chinese crap not even conform to the original presentation. Went to the bin ! I'm afraid this one would be the same.
