For the moment it's a Kalium 192 taper core string. It's this set exactly : https://kaliummusic.com/product/string-pack-1s2d2v333b3j3p63/ But I'm waiting for a quote for nickel hexagonal exposed core strings from a French string manufacturer nearby or I'll put some Newtone taper core nickel as I like them a lot.

Better photos of this amazing Noguera YC 8 Custom, love this beast !

So Pablo Picasso painted similar things, just like his Blue Period, Rose Period, Cubism Periods (there were two), Surrealistic Period, and his early years that were hyper realistic paintings... Don't think were are talking the same language here. Sorry.

My new toy, a Noguera YC 8 Custom... 8 is even better than 7.

If you have an invoice with your name on it, it should work. In fact, they asked for an invoice, in my case.

CITES Rosewood restrictions to end on musical instruments?

As it was mentioned earlier, following a message from Madinter I got the 28th of August : WARNING: This change will come into effect 90 days from today. 😉 -
I learned to play the sitar a while ago, you can hear it here : http://users.skynet.be/sb134986/Stabushu_Raga.mp3

As mentioned earlier by some people here, it's a known fact that the Hercules grip on these stands simply explode over the time even if simply and correctly stored. Mine were stored for a year or so in the attic (stable temperature and humidity, just in case) and the plastic had become sticky when I decided to use them again. It's a form if depolymerization of the bad quality plastic they used around 2011~2014. Hercules offered me to exchange them without discussion. So if you have some sticky grips on yours, there is absolutely no guru cure, but write to Hercules with a photo of the grip and they'll send you a new one. I fixed some of mine with a threaded screw with handle like this : ... And now they are rock solid. To me the Hercules stands are still the best ones. 😉

Welcome to the 6 (and more) strings basses world. This Cort C6 is a good choice, don't worry. But as you'll become familiar with the BassChat community, you'll start your never ending gas. 😉 Have fun, mate.

STOLEN - 1965 Fender jazz Bass sunburst (s/n L90562)

I hope it was sent fully insured... I'll keep my ears and eyes opened. -
Downloaded it today, and it's another Tool album, nothing more, nothing less. No surprise. There was something like a promise with the opening tune, a different route to take, but they decided to take the American highway were the speed limit is so low that nothing ever happens. Cruising quietly at the speed limit. Disappointed ? No as I was sure that they would make a mellow version of 10,000 Days. They just made a whole record in D with the same drum patterns, same guitar riffs, same bass lines, adding some misconception of electro music, and a superbly boring mastering. But I do really like the first tune, even if I didn't bother reading its title. Listened to the whole thing twice to come to the conclusion that I have another "family meeting" record to play. Now let's get nailed by the hardcore fans. 🤪

Bought an SR Technology Bass Fidelity 12 from Sylvain. Smooth and easy transaction again. Parcel was well packed and arrived lightning fast. Of course, the combo amp was as described. You can deal in total confidence with Sylvain. À la prochaine. 😉

Michael Manring has 6 detuners on his bass (one on each tuner on the headstock, one lever on each side of the bridge with 3 positions), and it's working fine. I had some Hipshot tuners on my basses, and once very fine tuned and oiled, they work very well. The nut is also very important as mentioned above. For oiling a drop of sewing macine oil is perfect. Check out this crazy Hyperbass with, in fact, 8 "pickups" in it.

CITES Rosewood restrictions to end on musical instruments?
Hellzero replied to cetera's topic in General Discussion
Let me tell you a little story that happened to a friend of mine. He ordered last year an F-Bass Alain Caron Replica 6 strings through the official retailer in Paris. His bass along with 4 others were blocked by the French customs because one of them had a rosewood fingerboard, but they didn't know which one it was. UPS France did a terrific job by loosing the official CITES certificate that MUST be original. After 4 months of waiting I wrote to Marcel Furlanetto as my friend doesn't speak English at all and Marcel sorted it all within 2 weeks. My friend got his F-Bass Alain Caron Replica 6 by the end of January 2019 instead of early September 2018... And this just because of the total incompetence in that matter by the French customs which preferred to block 5 basses when only one needed a CITES certificate. I don't think they can really tell the difference between plastic and wood. In the USA, you've got specialised offices; in Europe, we have dumber than dumb customs officers. It's about time that the guys at the CITES realise that the musical instruments are absolutely not endangering the woods of Appendix I, II and III, and focus on the real culprits. -

What you are telling about seizing an instrument by the customs (no need for a C capital there) is the American way and the presumption of guilt. Over here in Europe, even if British people pretend not to be Europeans, the presumption of innocence prevails, so the customs have to prove that your wood is in Appendix I, II or III. It's not being smarter (even if it's the case here), it's simply abiding the law. -
CITES Rosewood restrictions to end on musical instruments?

The only wood used for instrument crafting in Appendix I is Dalbergia Nigra, so as it's a Dalbergia, just say it's rosewood, and everything will be fine. Those bureaucrats are becoming stupider day after day, so don't be afraid. The next victory would be putting the Dalbergia Nigra used in finished musical instruments, finished musical instrument parts and finished musical instrument accessories under the new regulation and also having a clear regulation text about selling, buying and trading these finished items... -
CITES Rosewood restrictions to end on musical instruments?
Hellzero replied to cetera's topic in General Discussion
So, in 2020, we will be able to travel all over the world with our instruments made with Appendix II woods without needing a CITES certificate. But buying and selling them is still in the total mist. About Dalbergia Nigra, aka Brazilian rosewood, I defy any custom officer to tell me he's 100% sure what wood he's looking at... -
CITES Rosewood restrictions to end on musical instruments?
Hellzero replied to cetera's topic in General Discussion
Some clarification I got from Madinter today : It has not been easy... but we did it! Since January 2, 2017, several wood species are listed in Appendix II of CITES, with Annotation #15, specifically, all Dalbergias and Bubingas. Since then, a group representing the music industry, to which Madinter belongs, has fought to modify this Annotation, to get an exception for musical instruments. Our work has not been in vain, and finally today, from Geneva, proud of the result obtained, we can announce that these products, among others, will be excluded: Finished musical instruments, finished musical instrument parts and finished musical instrument accessories. However, the exports and imports of these woods will continue to need their corresponding CITES permit as at present. WARNING: This change will come into effect 90 days from today. We will keep you informed!
