  1. Around £3500 GBP for the same model...
  2. Not exactly the same as the BN4 PJ of Scott Devine, but a terrific bass, this AC5.
  3. The original ones, indeed, as it was a regular P/J configuration. To me, the best match would have been metallic surroundings for the new pickups to keep that Yamaha touch, but I got it already modified with these Bartolini pickups, a Glockenklang 3 bands EQ with 4 knobs and this pickguard à la Stingray.
  4. I found what you need : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/P-bass-guitar-stereo/192812451290?hash=item2ce48485da:g:5IIAAOSwQEtbKWy0&redirect=mobile And your missus will have spare money for extra sets of Fender strings. 😁
  5. Loads of strings, that's always useful. A new little portable bass combo like those wonderful GSS 06B400. A Tech 21 Q/Strip pedal preamp for that Shuker.
  6. As it's written a few times : heavily modified !
  7. I've had a few Glockenklang amps over the year and what I can tell is that the core tone is the same on every amp I've owned, being it class AB or class D power amp, which are, in order of appearance : Heart-Core head, Soul Combo, Heart-Rock head, Soul II Head and a Blue Soul head plus lots of cabinets. In fact, I've even preferred the Blue Soul over all the others, as it was even faster in response than the others with class AB power amps. And the fan was very very very quiet. I tried the Bass Art first generations and they were awesome, but way much too expensive for me at the time. That said Thomann or Music Store offer the same 30 days return warranty in case you don't like your purchase. And it's working as I sent back, last week, the Hartke LH 1000 I bought as it was too fan(s) noisy for me even if the tone was quite good and pleasant.
  8. Try the Warwick in black, and you'll see that the price raises of about 25%. Why is the Trickfish so expensive : Is American (with a Danish power module) "made" enough for you ? The Warwick is an "old" amp and the silver hi-fi finish is not to everyone taste. You said money wasn't an issue, so go for the Glockenklang you won't be disappointed : certainly the best amps ever. if around 600 Watts is enough, contact @Matte_black , he has two Glock's for sale.
  9. I think you've never sent £3000 to £4000 GBP goods.
  10. Easy to do with 2 centimetres rigid polystyrene panels. I simply cut them to the exact dimensions of the box, then I tape them securely together, and I put an extra heavy duty layer of professional packing cardboard around it. I also tape the whole "box" to avoid humidity or even water problem(s). That said, the more "fragile" stickers you put on it, the more "I don't give a sh*t" you'll get in return.
  11. And it has a killer tone or, if you prefer it this way : it's a tone monster.
  12. Yes, the colour is stock and is the rare Purple Pearl.
  13. The two lightweight amps with a non aggressive sound are made with the same power amp (a PASCAL). The Trickfish Bullet 1K without any fan and a Michael Pope preamp : http://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Trickfish_Amplifiers.html The Warwick LWA 1000 with an extracting fan (running only when needed, so not that often) and a Hellborg derived preamp. Here in silver finish for around 1/3 of the Bullet 1K : https://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_warwick_lwa_1000.htm And there is also the extraordinary Glockenklang Blue Rock with a 5 bands EQ, a drive section and lightning fast transients response : https://www.thomann.de/gb/glockenklang_blue_rock.htm
  14. And before you asked, I received it modified heavily like this ; the head was really butchered (in 3 + 2) and has been saved to a decent shape by Christophe LEDUC.
  15. And here the pictures of my heavily modified BB5000A in Purple Pearl :
  16. But you could play A Night in Langney. Here it is, for those who don't know it yet, live from the studio :
  17. Will post some pictures tomorrow...
  18. Tim, If I remember correctly, this is a bolt on neck, so simply put a decently madenout of very dry maple wood shim in the neck pocket. This will lower the action, add some useful tilting to the neck, but please use the truss rod for what it's meant for : adjusting the neck relief and not the action.
  19. For the moment, being more a 6 strings (fretless) bass player, I have a TRB-6P fretless (defretted) in the herd, but it's not for this thread. 🤔 But I still have the pictures of my heavily modified BB5000A in the rare Purple Pearl finish.
  20. I think it's a Schweinberger. 😎
  21. Especially the wide neck BB5000A editions of the late 80's, early 90's. That said the BB5000A has been available in Silver Pearl in 1988.
  22. Nope, only colours available for the BB3000A were Candy Apple Red, Cream White and Metallic Black. The BB3000AF was also available in Natural and Pearl White instead of the Cream White.
