  1. Why not buy the real thing ? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PBassTFflBlkd1--fender-tony-franklin-fretless-precision-bass-black Or in two parts : https://www.ebay.com/itm/2018-USA-Fender-Tony-Franklin-Precision-P-Jazz-Bass-LOADED-BODY-Nitro-Black/142882553056?hash=item214476bce0:g:Pl4AAOSwf31bWJeU https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fender-USA-Tony-Franklin-Precision-Fretless-Precision-P-BASS-NECK-TUNERS-Ebony/362396289171?hash=item5460808893:g:pFEAAOSwrVRbWJeg
  2. Thanks mate, the bass for sale here, even if it has the full graphite neck has exactly the same sound, and I know it because it was mine. That said, I've seen this tour at the MAI in Nancy (France) with the late terrific Shawn Lane, and Jonas Hellborg was playing his modified Crafter. What good memories it has awaken. 😊
  3. Gorgeous instrument. Don't worry for your intonation, use your open strings and harmonics as these are a fixed reference. It helps a lot. Use a tuner too so you'll see if you are in tune. Didn't I tell you about these Shuker ? They are just wonderful instruments. Congratulations and as I always say : no frets, no limits ! 👍
  4. Especially for me. 🤣
  5. Yes, well done Eddie. 👍
  6. Quite the same story for me guys. So see you in the shed too, with my real name there.
  7. Just like this thread has opened again the debate for the gender of the bass, which is neutral like any animal or a baby, even if the latter does not play a six strings bass guitar.
  8. And don't think about what it's doing in your intestine. 🤔
  9. Simply because of the magazine Esquire and to avoid another trial like the one for the Telecaster which was named at first Broadcaster, but Gretsch had a drum set named Broadkaster, hence the low profile which is the best Leo has ever had. So the Squire became Squier, and that's the end of the story or the beginning.
  10. And this a Plek machine... 😂 🤣 😆
  11. Congratulations, I've seen that the bass is sold. You now own a superb fretless bass. Don't be afraid to play it, the more you'll play, the better you'll sound. 👍
  12. Indeed, an eLbow relies on too much practice. 😋
  13. I started my first course yesterday evening, the only one about fretless, and went to the third of it. Being a fretless bass player for over 30 years and devoted to 6 strings basses, I knew everything Steve LAWSON was talking about, but merely put it into practice. Then after that I started to use what I've seen with my bass and ended up playing around an hour or more (after having closed my practice log) using all my right hand fingers, which I never did before and it became clear and easy to me. Funny, no ? That said, being hyper structured, I hated the old web site which was a total mess. The new one is way much... structured. And being a self taught player myself, what I like is the fact that I can learn my way, so attending an entire course step-by-step and repeating the hard places by simply pressing pause, go back to the difficult point, and start over and over if necessary and still having the same quality level of teaching because it's recorded. Try this with a teacher, he'll certainly loose patience and will not have the same approach when starting back where you stopped, if he even remembers what you were doing... So I like it and the next step will be learning back some theory, which I certainly already know, but as I said in my SBL introduction, I need to sum up all my knowledge. And it seems to work.
  14. I've just subscribed, even if I went into the 14 days trial last year and stopped after a few days because of the mess on the web site. Looks way far better now. Anyway, I have 30 days to decide...
  15. An Ebow will work without any problem as it's like having a wood cover for your pickup. All you have to do is locate the pickup to use your effect properly. And it will even be easier to have great sustain effects as the fretboard runs up to the bridge, so the sliding will be effortless. 😉
  16. Thinning down the herd, so selling the basses I don't use. FOR SALE OR (PARTIAL) TRADE BASED ON THE NEW RETAIL PRICE ($8000 USD) : Very nice MTD 635-24 Fretless with new Bartolini/Tobias preamp installed and fretboard fixed because of slight default. The bass has been fully revised, fixed and set up last year by Christophe LEDUC who did a differential fretboard dressing after fixing the slight uptlifting end of this very fretboard on the treble side. This was done with the guiding help of Mike TOBIAS himself as they are friends. The bass is now perfect and also received a new preamp exchanged by Mike TOBIAS as the original was defective. Note that this bass seems to have been orderd by Andrew GOUCHÉ himself as there is GA written (see pictures) on the back of the battery plate, neck and in the neck pocket, but unfortunately Mike TOBIAS has no record for that fact, but maybe Andrew GOUCHÉ could confirm this... Non smoking environment, as usual. Asking price is £3150 GBP due to the rarity and now fixed problem, but very good condition of this bass. MTD price list link : http://www.mtdbass.com/price-list/ Having questions about the real colour, it's somewhere between my pictures and these : http://www.bassclubparis.com/index.php/mtd/535-signature-andrew-gouche-detail https://www.basscentre.com.au/products/used-mtd-andrew-gouche-6-string-with-hard-case The pictures to see the real condition (under different lights to try to capture the real colour), which shows only some little wear with a very few dings and scratches plus the satin finish going away over the MTD logo, so all in all absolutely nothing serious :
  17. Indeed, tiny but powerful and impressive with the battery pack. I think I'll buy the complement speaker for portability and power...
  18. If you want, I can translate in French anything you want to write to the seller. if this helps, don't hesitate.
  19. Here are some pictures with my Leduc MP 628 SF, which has a "normal" body size : Funny yellowish light we have over here.
  20. PayPal will never refund a Friends and Family transaction. Period. It's up to the seller to do it. Period. Sorry to be harsh, but the thread is derailing, again.
