  1. I like that simple but effective look. Congratulations @anzoid !
  2. This one isn't pointless.
  3. "The most important thing I learned is that no matter what the instrument is, it is first and foremost acoustic. If an instrument sounds weak acoustically, adding pick-ups will just amplify its shortcomings. Throughout my career, I have tried to apply this principal to everything I build. By experimenting with different types and combinations of wood, I seek to get the best possible tone from an instrument." - M.Tobias
  4. Yes, but Wal Bass Pro go quite high too especially the E version. 😉
  5. I've been a fretless sixer player since the 90's... So definitely my weapon of choice for many reasons, think Anthony Jackson and Alain Caron.
  6. Christoph also makes a well known Wal-like multi coils pickup (see W-Bucker here: https://hotwire-bass.de/hotwire-pickups) and his pickups also equip some high end Maruszczyk basses.
  7. The ATK pickup won't do it either. In this case, ask a pickups builder to make one for you. Someone like Chistoph Dolf at BassCulture has built me some specific pickups with the exact specifications I was asking. And he's not a greedy person at all. Worth asking him: [email protected]
  8. Simply buy this: https://www.sims.guitars/sims-bass-shop/super-quad-pickup-classic-4
  9. If it's a nitrocellulosic finish, acetone is quite fast and easy. Otherwise, you can try any solvent meant for this purpose.
  10. I've got this Excel file, with a lot of measurements for the usual suspects and some others too, in both metric and imperial. Pickup Positions For Many Makes Of Bass.xlsx
  11. That said Eric Clapton might be interested in that bass, should you decide to sell it as is...
  12. Just tell me @nilorius, do you smoke smoked tea or smoked salmon?
  13. To my eyes a sunburst fretless Jazz Bass must not have any scratchplate even if it's a lovely tortoise one. And yes, I do love tortoise pickguards. Did you see what I did here? 😂
  14. Andrew Gouché puts his 3 bands EQ all the way up to the max and his tone is just excellent.
  15. It even has 3, with a piercing called a screw.
  16. Yep, yours have ears. 😉
  17. Calling @chrisbass13!
  18. When you think about it, it's quite close to oil...
  19. 57.11 is indeed an equalent tempo for slap. 😂🤦🏻‍♂️ Never heard the word before, but I like it, it's equaslow to me.
