The Dogal's are a bit more even in tone all along the neck, with more mids and way more flexible with a bit less tension compared to the Thomastik Infeld.
I find the fundamental of the notes a bit more present and defined with the Dogal too.
And this goes for the round wound as well as the flat wound types.
That said I really love both.
The Dogal Hellborg Perfect Pitch JH171 round wound strings, impossible to find more flexible, very low tension with plenty of mid growl.
Very expensive, but worth a try.
Maybe this review of the Headrush Flex Prime by Nate Navarro might help a bit understanding what those new "multi effects" can do, including the IR's and the Revalver (Super) Amp Cloner technology.
To be clear: I'm not affiliated with Headrush at all.
Warren helped me buying some spare parts for a Stingray and it was very kind from him, even if the Belgian post decided to take 6 weeks for the delivery of an A5 envelope...
Thanks so much Warren!
What's the preamp in that 1982 Arpège Delta Metal fretless as it's obviously not original (and the pickups are from the 90's)?
That said the preamp on the fretted Arpège is not original either. 😉
