  1. Looks like a Candy Apple Red Stingray @kwmlondon. If it's the case, I know someone desperately looking for one (not me).
  2. Put the photos and/or link and the experts will show up instantly. 😉
  3. There are other well known ones who have authenticated fake ones, and not only once, but they almost always threatened me when I pointed it out... It just means you always have to be very careful when buying vintage or Custom Shop instruments and certainly not take retailers for granted, but ask for advice here as there are a some real experts and the power of BassChat is quite amazing when it comes to helping each others.
  4. Nice looking one. That's my home.
  5. The airflow itself is very noisy.
  6. And then you'll call me saying "I've bought another fearless one, do you want it, it's definitely not for me?"
  7. If each time you look at it you think why am I keeping a bass I won't play anymore, just sell it or trade it for that fiver Stingray, at least you'll stay in the same territory sound wise.
  8. Here is my music place, with my desk, sorry for the mess... 🤪😂
  9. I think we have 2 winners, amazing mess guys, congratulations! 😂
  10. 10% carbon (the two black rods you see), 90%wood.
  11. With this, you have all you need: http://www.vintagekramer.com/Electric/wiring-dmz4000preamp.jpeg
  12. If Mozart was still alive he would agree, and it's been the same for almost any classical musician considered now geniuses, but not back then as most of them were always short on money, except a very few, like Rossini. So every penny generated by some kind of recognition is more than welcome for an artist ... when he's alive. For the record Vincent van Gogh officially only sold one painting (La Vigne Rouge) while alive...
  13. Certainly one of the most beautiful Vigier Passion to date. Furthermore Brian is the coolest guy around. GLWYS, Brian.
  14. I owned the Bugera Veyron M for some time, and really liked it sound wise, but the fan was a bit on the noisy side for me, so it went to a friend who plays really loud as it was not an issue for him. Otherwise I would have kept it and would have simply put a Noctua fan in it. Good choice, really.
  15. An ideal gig is one where I don't play...
  16. She is a very great player and I'm almost following her since the beginning of her career. That said, as I already wrote, her actual band is quite meh sounding, too Polish (if you've ever been to Poland, you'll know what I mean), so poorly sounding and boring synths everywhere, which is quite a shame... Her previous band was, to me, better sounding.
  17. Simply wire the pickup in parallel as it's what makes the sound of the Stingray (even the fiver model) coupled to the typical 2 bands EQ preamp that the Musikding classic preamp reproduces very well. The lower the total resistance of the pickup wired in parallel the closer to an original it will be.
  18. It totally depends on what you're looking for, flatwound strings can be really great sounding just like roundwound strings on any bass, not only Jazz Basses.
  19. Simply ask Vanderkley, he is speaking English...
  20. These were his in-between moustache days, what a journey...
  21. Indeed, check this, it showed up today, but they are still rare: https://www.zikinf.com/annonces/annonce-2442966
  22. Just for the record, I bought something like 30 years ago a quite heavy Revox reel tape recorder that arrived completely destroyed as it was simply put in the thinnest cardboard ever... I never got any refund.
  23. Your intonation is more than correct Chris, no big out of tune notes at all, just always a bit too sharp, but don't worry it doesn't destroy the music at all. I've heard way more out of tune notes by professional renowned classical violinists or cellists, but beware of the lines as you'll start playing out of tune for sure if you rely on them (your always a bit too sharp intonation is certainly because of that). That said you can use a slight bit of chorus if you're not 100% confident with your intonation, it will level things up. Concerning the ebony fingerboard, it will take years and years of heavy playing to mark it to a no return point, but a levelling will sort it. And raise that E string a bit, it will breathe even more. 😉
