What's the preamp in that 1982 Arpège Delta Metal fretless as it's obviously not original (and the pickups are from the 90's)? That said the preamp on the fretted Arpège is not original either. 😉

They are not exactly the latest incarnation of the Mike Pope preamp as Mike Pope sold his company to TrickFish something like 2 years ago, but they are indeed FlexCore-like preamps on a Jazz Bass plate. That said the FlexCore preamps offer more options than the pure TrickFish preamps, but the final tone is very very very similar.

So, it's an early Passion II as I said in @TheMoose selling ad. I've written it a lot of times that the only way to date correctly an early Vigier is to remove the bridge pickup and simply read the date hand written or embossed... 😉 Superb "restoration" work @BassTool !

Sure Brian, they were very expensive back then, but the high craftsmanship justifies the price. When I said fraction, it's because the American models were 3 to 4 or even 5 times more expensive... -
This is originally an American brand from the 90's crafting high end guitars and basses, some with composite material too. These Korean models are excellent too for a fraction of the price. Mine came directly from San Louis Obispo, the Ernie Ball factory, so I guess it's true, and a bit stupid as the instruments have to go there from Indonesia and then are sent individually through FedEx to their buyer... Apparently, they put the flatwound strings at the Ernie Ball facility and make the setup too. I think I've reached my personal pollution quota in late December for a complete year because of this purchase...
