  1. Indeed, because you can spend a fortune on a Wal, Alembic, Ritter or Fodera. Vigier or Leduc are excellent different choices for a 24 frets bass. And there's still the other luthiers option.

  3. Why can't we say that something is deep dire when it really is? Where is the problem? Mediocrity is and will always be mediocrity. Wokism is pure bullshìt, it's like saying I'm not what I'm not because I am what I am while being what I'm not when I am. Take a decision: it helps going ahead instead of turning in circles.
  4. You can join the original French seller here on Zikinf, his name is Julien, but you'll have to be registered: https://www.zikinf.com/compte/messages/compose?u=155209 He will answer faster as he's quite active there.
  5. Indeed, I've never heard it so before. The lunatics must be back in town.
  6. Funny, but it looks like an Ikea cutting board... No offence intended as I always wanted to make a Bo Diddley tribute bass using one...
  7. This ∆∆∆ , plus adding some polystyrene panels "around" the case and adding an A4 sheet with the sender and recipient adresses with phone numbers inside the case clearly visible as couriers have the authorisation to open parcels in case they get "lost". Also ask the recipient to video the unpacking process, only for insurance purposes. You can use TNT Express which is very fast, just like UPS, and these two companies will insure the instrument at the value you declared ... and can help you fill all the forms. Avoid anything by the post or brokers as they don't give a shīt about parcels, and don't be a cheapskate unless you want to face a lot of issues... I've sent hundreds of instruments or even amps all over the world without any problems, but two: the first was a parcel stolen (you can't do anything about this) and the second was a parcel dropped from the bagages hold of the plane (shīt happens). Both times, I was fully refunded by the insurance and gave the money back to the buyers.
  8. @Rollo came home with his newly acquired and excellent sounding Leduc MP 624, on the left. 😊
  9. This was recorded with my phone just after I received the bass you see in the short video with this Joyo MA-10B, which is my "bedroom" amp. It handles the low B very easily at low to mid level. It's not a twin channel amp, but it has a switch for the drive, nothing else. If you don't push it beyond its limits, it sounds very good. I use it all the time with this powerbank: https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_powerplant_powerbank.htm Le Fay Remington Steele 6 RHT CC CAP Big Block 1.mp4 Sorry for the out of tune slides, I was just noodling.
  10. It's a simple 2 bands EQ, with center frequencies well chosen and just the right amount of boost. Compared to a Uni-Pre, it's easier to use and you get the sound you're after instantly. I also find it more transparent than other East products, which, to me, is a great advantage. You can add the Mid Sweep too if you need a 3 bands EQ... PS: Good to read that the dual rods issue is now a thing of the past.
  11. The BTB02 has always been my favourite preamp from John East. It does what it's supposed to do perfectly.
  12. Leduc HMP 624 stands for Headless Master Piece 6 strings 24 frets, so the dimensions are almost the same as yours. 😉
  13. Was about to answer that I also found a 1003 mm interior length. That said, it's a very good quality gig bag. A friend of mine uses a bass model for his Fodera, and has never had a single problem and he travels a lot...
  14. I'm trying the best I can, but I really don't understand what you're saying as it's the opposite of my point of view, but is exactly yours, or maybe you're a songwriter or a poet?
  15. Bingo! My Leduc HMP 624 has 104x32 cm overall dimensions, so it fits in a Mono Stleath or Sleeve gig bag according to their internal dimensions at 106.7x38.1 cm. The Mono Vertigo would even be better at 105.4x36.8 cm, but then better check if your headless Leduc is not a bit longer than mine.
  16. Leduc headless basses don't fit into guitar bags, it's missing someting like an inch in the length. The Ritter guitar models don't fit. Check the Mono guitar models, I have a hint they might do the job.
  17. Adjusting dual truss rods is quite easy, first set the treble side to be almost flat and then adjust the bass side to have slightly more relief. This is known as differential fingerboard levelling by Leduc or B Bow by Le Fay. Mike Tobias used the same approach for his dual truss rod basses and is also a friend and fan of Christophe Leduc work (and vice versa). PS: The two truss rods don't cross over anywhere.
  18. Or way before them, Christian Vander from Magma and the language he created called Kobaïen.
  19. You'll say again that I'm patronising @Dan Dare, but Antonio Stradivari may have bought wood from the local suppliers, BUT was building instruments using his ears to tune these woods by crafting them to get the best tone. And this makes a huge difference.
  20. Seems to be a song about a trip (and maybe a trip too) to Cuba and some wrong destinations...
  21. The problem is that I only buy CD's (I hate downloading, sorry) and it's out of stock...
