The place that was Andy's Guitar Workshop is is now called Denmark Street Guitars, but has been Hank's Guitar Shop in between : https://www.denmarkstreetonline.co.uk/ That said, the more I look at it, the more it looks like a stolen guitar with all the distinctive signs erased... It could also be a Schecter hardtail from the 80/90's as it has the smaller headstock, but most of them had gold hardware or a Fender from the same period, but then the hardtail bridge is a modern replacement. Waiting for way more photos.

These are CTS pots and have a code on them that can be easily deciphered, just like the back of the pickups. The switch looks like a CRL model, and if still original should be a 3 position model. Furthermore, some photos of the heel of the neck might help too just like a photo of the body with the pickguard removed and a photo of the front of the headstock. The Schaler tuners are a common upgrade on Strats as they align with the original lower holes.

With such poor quality and useless photos, all I can say is that it's been modified at some point and was originally a mid to late 70's or even very early 80's (this kind of checking is typical from this period) hard tail Fender Stratocaster, named so, because it has no tremolo, but a fixed bridge. Robert Cray used to play one and even has a Fender signature model.

You're, welcome. 😉

That's it, just reverse these two wires on ONE pickup only.
-
Your pickups are out of phase, it can happen even with the best makers. Simply reverse the phase of one pickup by inverting the hot (+) and cold (earth or -) wires and it should work normally.
-
Not sure, but it could be a Shergold Modulator.
-
Try to be Abba without the talent and this is what you get... Terrific drumming indeed @Dad3353, I guess some punk drummers must be jealous. 🤪🤘 That said it's indeed a Shergold Modulator (named this way, because you could buy extra modules...) just like the lower half of Mike Rutherford's emblematical instrument.

Regular 34" Bass tuned up to ADGC (or near offer)
Hellzero replied to Waddo Soqable's topic in Repairs and Technical
You're a very aggressive person, and your opinion about the subject is as subjective as mine, and sorry for you, but you don't own the only truth. That said, I have a Ying Yang Standard, so I think I quite like Victor Wooten, but I don't play the way he plays and I'm glad I don't. Furthermore, I would like to know when did I write that Victor Wooten is not using a 34 inches scale bass in tenor tuning? -

Hellzero replied to Waddo Soqable's topic in Repairs and Technical
Yep, @Baloney Balderdash and @velvetkevorkian I play bass, not guitar, so it's a standard tuning for bass with a low G# and I used to play 8 strings (not octave) basses, so yes it's fully usable. Check Yves Carbonne work. Stankey Clarke and Victor Wooten play tenor basses, but Stanley Clarke is using a short scale bass for that, which seems more suited for these guitarist tunings. According to Michael Manring, the piccolo set he's using is the best gauge for his multi-tuning approach, meaning the strings can go down or up without being too flappy or breaking when going up. Won't make friends, but balanced sets are pure marketing bullshìt. -

But if you want a piccolo tuning try the D'addario EXL280 set, that's what Michael Manring is using for his multi-tuning Zon Hyperbass. -

0.145 at the strict minimum for an useable G#.

Totally agree, the last chapter made me laugh a lot. The rest is a bit more foggy than all the knowledge of Bill Lawrence. That said, the book of Erno Zwaan (the guy behind the amazing Q-Tuner pickups) called Animal Magnetism for Musicians goes deep into the pickups guts and guitar building.

Now that you've seen the visible part of the iceberg, here's the rest: http://www.billlawrence.com/Pages/All_About_Tone.htm/Pickupology.htm And it's as complete as you can imagine.
-
This is more than a good start to understand them: http://www.billlawrence.com/Pages/Pickupology/Introduction.htm

Why not using the back as front, this way, you'll avoid the two discolouration patterns?
-
Personally I'd see if I could get the second one for £200

Of course, you imagine quite well, I've watched or heard almost everything he's made and can also recommend his album with Michael Manring and Dominique Di Piazza, which is not permanent show off, but virtuosity. I also owned a Noguera YC 8 fretless, what an excellent bass, but sometimes friends can push you to a sale... Yves even sold me some sets of strings for the bass and gave me a few advices on how to use the bass and why is tuning it lower.

Just in case I'm selling the bass for this event, but I think it's missing a lot of stickers and the holes should be going through the body, but that can be fixed very quickly... 🤪
