  1. Or sell non alcoholic beverages only...
  2. I've swapped or installed hundreds of preamps and it's a 10 minutes swap indeed, nothing easier to do, especially when new with a diagram or a schematic. I've also (re)wired totally unknown preamps implying redrawing and/or understanding the circuit itself and also way more complicated electronics jobs, but it's been my job in the mid 90's early 2000's. Sorry Mick, but if your tech can't do such a simple swap, he's not a tech at all to me.
  3. There is this excellent pedal for sale here:
  4. Here's the full pots Aguilar schematic if you ave any doubts, just reassemble the pots. 😉 https://www.bestbassgear.com/wiring-diagrams/v-bl-t--msw-b-ap-tone.pdf
  5. Yes, your schematic is totally correct.
  6. A one string bass, or if you play in Metallica a no string bass is perfect or a totally unwired bass.
  7. @NickA, I own a made to measure Leduc sixer EUB that I used a lot when playing in a jazz duet making rearranged covers of French "standards".
  8. Marleaux Tonwerk. Richter StepAbout. TrickFish Minnow. TrickFish Trilobite. To name a selection of the best pedal preamp still available new and models that I tried.
  9. Following! 😊
  10. That's why I wrote Yves only needs 2 and put his versions of Teen Town and Donna Lee. But Yves Carbonne also plays a 12 strings (no octave) fretless bass, so he plays (like I do) whatever he wants or what the music needs at that moment. It's not lame to say every time someone points out a fiver, sixer or higher "Jaco only needed 4", when he's known to have played a fiver for some time: it's just silly stupid.
  11. He used a 3 strings double bass, just like any player of the same period, definitely not a 1 string double bass. 😉 That said he played a few instruments too including guitar and violin...
  12. With actual photos, it would be far better !
  13. 80's Aria and other Japanese brands pickups were similar. 😉
  14. Don't know if he can play Chromatic Fantasy on his 2 strings bass, but he can play Donna Lee. 😉
  15. And my original pickups photos from the same period (yes I keep almost everything):
  16. So these are definitely Bossa pickups and these are excellent pickups that I used to try at the time. Here is my original ad from ... 2016:
  17. Pretty sure these are Bossa bass pickups.
  18. Don't start kidding about Mickey Rourke.
  19. And what about your ears?
  20. And Yves Carbonne only needed 2, see previous page. 😉
  21. As boring as the original in a jazz way.
  22. I ate something in Birmingham, but never knew what it was as I couldn't understand a single word of the waitress at the station. Thought I landed in Russia. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  23. And Yves only needed two. 😎
  24. Joe Jackson response to this is quite clear: "No requests, please!"
