The LED's are really powerful, don't stare at them, Russ. That's the only "grief" I could find, the rest is excellent and the tuner is useable with a sixer, even if a bit slow compared to a Peterson or a TC Electronic, but nothing to really worry about. You will love this head, for sure !

The Boss GT-1B ticks all the boxes and is cheap : https://www.thomann.de/gb/boss_gt_1b_bass_multi_fx_pedal.htm That said, if you don't need an expression pedal and that you can forget the headphones out, these 3 other "strips" can be what you're looking for : Valeton Dapper Bass Effect Strip : https://www.thomann.de/gb/valeton_dapper_bass_effect_strip.htm Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig V2 : https://www.thomann.de/gb/tech_21_bass_fly_rig_v2.htm TC Electronic Plethora X5 : https://www.thomann.de/gb/tc_electronic_plethora_x5.htm But as others said, keeping the Headrush and explore it might be the best idea.

Thanks @ianrendall : I found that my Aria Diamond bought in the 80's was called the 1930. I binned it in the 90's, but still have the tailpiece with the wooden insert and the mother of toilet seat diamond on it. 🤦♂️

Unnecessarily complicated short scale project
Hellzero replied to alittlebitrobot's topic in Build Diaries
The strings changing is really fast and clever on the Le Fay as it's a self locking system (without any locking device). Check this : That said, on the Bogart basses, the tuning keys are used as a locking device, which is very clever too. 😉- 35 replies

I think they need one of my packing masterclasses. So, their motto is : Take the money and don't give a sh*t. Awful !

Remember that Brazilian rosewood is not allowed except with a permit. -

All the paperwork is on the side of the seller. The buyer has to pay all the duties, that's all. -

I've sold a bass in the U.K. very recently with a Para rosewood (Dalbergia Spruceana) fretboard. No issues with the customs (CN23 correctly filled and pro forma invoice joined) and the bass arrived in 48 hours using FedEx Express. -
Unnecessarily complicated short scale project
Hellzero replied to alittlebitrobot's topic in Build Diaries
Indeed, sound wise it's very close to my Leduc Masterpiece fretless basses with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, not harsh at all, with a bit more harmonics. I'm a huge fan of the Vigier Delta Metal fingerboard fretless basses, which was first offered by Vigier in 1980 as the Arpège fretless bass, and have owned a few over the years, like this very early one, bearing serial number 004 (not mine). But I've always wanted a sixer metal fingerboard fretless, so my wife offered me, last year, the above mentioned Le Fay Remington Steele 6 RHT CC CAP Big Block (that's its name !).- 35 replies

Just in case, here's how to get the best of both worlds according to the Dobbratz brothers, the two Le Fay basses owners. It's what they call the RHT which stands for Right Hand Tuning, so basically a headless with a headstock. It has become my number one bass. And yes, it's a stainless steel fingerboard.- 35 replies

There's a well known fact missing : Paul McCartney is a total cheapskate, hence buying the cheapest bass in the store. The rest is (extraordinary) history, but this proves that you don't need the most expensive bass in the world to become one of the most acclaimed musician in the ... world. That said, as a Beatles fan, I bought and sold almost immediately a 1967/68 Höfner 500/1 as it was a real pain in the *ss to play (the sound was as expected) with its permanent head diving, even if I tried the Macca strap attachment at the headstock.

What could be lost in translation as I don't translate ? This is becoming exhausting. You don't need to be British to speak or understand English, that's again very frustrating too. I also know exactly what a broker is and how the system is working in the U.K., which is very similar to the way it's working in what you call Europe, forgetting that U.K. was, is and will always be in Europe and mismatching Europe with the EEC. Do I have to tell you that most of the U.K. couriers won't refund more than £100 for a musical instrument whatever insurance you may have taken ? I don't think so as you know it too. So could you please stop this insulting process ?
-
Don't you think that we have brokers over here in Belgium, @Kev and that taking me for a fool is some kind of stupid sectarianism ? Really astonishing patronising behaviour, especially from a moderator !
-
Then explain why the brokers offer no service at all after having taken the money... For the OP, the contract has been made with P2Go whose responsibility doesn't go further away than taking the money : there is something wrong in this system.
-
There's something I really don't understand : Why stubbornly use cheap couriers when you know it will also mean cheap to no service ? If it's cheap, it means someone is not being paid in the chain or nobody is paid correctly, so expect problems. A broker is an unnecessary intermediate who must be paid, so you know where most of the money is going. It's too easy to say don't blame the broker, when the broker is the "person" with whom you've dealt, nobody else, making "him" fully responsible. I've used these brokers a few times, but stopped as it was a real pain in the *ss when you want to have an information or a status and I was fed up by the usual "it's not me, it's them" answer.

Now, I want a fretless vintage white fiver P-Bass ... with a tortoise pickguard, of course. 🤦♂️ Excellent job @Andyjr1515 ... as usual.
-
Exactly. That said as a (non lined) fretless player myself, I seek for the harmonics instead of relying on the supposed position, but I very carefully set up my basses to get the best out of them and an excellent set up always makes a huge difference.

Can a jazz be too road worn?

No apologies needed, it's the right place to put this. Now, you just have the explanations about the condition of this bass. 😉 -
