Plywood is not light at all !

Simply more wood. It's a known fact by luthiers, never compare the exact same 4, 5 or 6 strings bass. The 4 strings bass will always sound thinner and less consistent.

I don't think it's the best fretless on the planet, but it's in the top ten for sure.

The Basswitch is really excellent, complete and versatile. Jacques Ruppert (the guy behind it) is a really nice guy and very good bassist too. And he likes a good talk while drinking espresso (he is living quite close to me). 😉

For sure. I bought the BassChat T-Shirt and the customs duties are simply delirious, but I knew it. That said, it was my last U.K. buying (and I'm still waiting for it after having paid these duties). -
