£43 pedal with power supply, the 'guitar' version..

Having fiddled a bit more I think I've worked out what is does and I guess it has its uses, If you play evenly its fine.... I 'm liking the pedal more, the sustain is just great for nice slow legato playing, just need a huge cavernous reverb now!!

Not sure I like the pedal at all , I . much prefer the soul food,but will keep it to use with my moog sub phatty!! Need phasers, filters ring mod, etc. ... fuzz is bit boring really

Hi peeps Quick question Although I could record direct i'm thinking of getting an amp for practise and recording, i don;t gig and probably never will! In the past I've had a Roland Jazz chorus amp, that i played a bass through at low levels, wonderful clean sound and nice chorus!! is there a bass amp or guitar amp that would deliver a very sweet, hi -fi sound to capture all harmonics etc, something pretty pure I guess, any overdrive I could put in through pedals... Not looking for huge output.... and also would a combo be best of seperate amp and speakers Been looking at Techamp vt500 with bareface 210, is this overkill? Markbass? Phil jones? difficult to demo any of this stuff myself, you need good advice cheers Z

Get the original pedal not the bass one, works fine on bass, no tone suck. Its a subtle but wonderful pedal,adds just a nice amount of gain, and slight overdrive....works well with bass pi pedal

No its fine when set to zero its when its set high it just shuts off the sound which I don't understand. I just don't think I'll use it. Its a very quiet pedal, the sound isn't as distorted as the guitar version of the pi muff deluxe, should have got that. Often effects designed for bass just aren't as good...

I've never seen Motorhead, and if truth be told don;t really like heavy metal/rock but always had a soft for them, mainly due to the personality and bass of Lemmy... I thought he looked a bit static at Glastonbury... still amazing though He should just quit, retire, be a legend and enjoy what time he has left... his body must be f***ed to pieces, I don;t want to see him working himself to death... he's paid he dues and then some... Put your feet up mate, you've nothing left to prove.... take it easy...

I can sort of see how it works but if thats how its meant to sound it sounds sh*t!! I just don;t think i;'ll use it, the whole point of fuzz distortion is to make noise surely!!! ??? i don;t thinj this pedal is working properly I'll have to take it to a shop that has a Pi deluxe and compare....

Hi Peeps just got this today, I like it, seems capable of a lot of subtlety which is great in a fuzz, pedal The crossover can suck tone though if not set right, and the tone know also seems to suck the life out of the sound a bit..... I'm assuming this is all normal? My issue is with the gate. How is this meant to work exactly? When I turn in from zero, the sound disappears, when its high I need to hit the string really hard, but the sound dies very suddenly, cuts out , and there is silence, no sustain, even if sustain is turned up; is this how its meant to operate???? Just not sure what the gate is meant to do? I've emailed EHX to ask them, may have a faulty pedal!? If so a bummer as bought in online!! cheers Z

No still looking I missed out on a Source audio on ebay but that looks a bit complicated, not looking for millions of option just one good one!! Not heard of some of these, i'll keep looking!!

is there anything out there that is cheaper than a mu tron that does the funk almost as good? I've tried EHX q-tron, horrible, Dod 25fb sucks tone any really good squelchy filter available today to actually buy in a shop, not some rare boutique pedal where there was only ever 3 made by some guy in a garage in wisconsin, and even then it was unreliable and you cant get the chips anymore and ....... ie off the shelf instant Funk, without searching on ebay for months to get 'that' pedal... i don;t want hassle I just want to FUNK!!!

Hi Camden Rob I used to have a Wal, back in the day sold it for peanuts. Facepalm. no cant stretch to what they cost now!! I've been recommended acg by a lot of people! It's really trying to get the right pickups for a glassy raspy sound, hard to achieve on fretless but I will get there!!

Ok experts im looking to order a custom bass. Looking for advice please. I want a.fretless that is punchy, trebely, not dull woody and sounding like an upright. What kind of pickups should I get? Single coil or dual coil? I want active so which pickups and pre-amps for aggressive punch? Cheers Z
