  1. I think these are very tasty instruments indeed but the prices are off putting for me. Well over a grand for a far east assembled P/J bass copy? Sorry, they look lovely but at that price are just not worth it.
  2. Does anyone happen to have a spare set of BB300 (or the type used on the BBs from the early 80s) tuners lying around? I need 2 for my new BB300. There is a set on ebay but they're in the states and the seller won't send anything overseas. It's not the be all and end all but as it's an old bass in good nick I want to keep it original. Pics of the tuners I want below. Cheers!
  3. You know, I think that could really work.
  4. Heard this on 6music this morning. I've liked Prefab for years but never heard this tremendous bass performance before. The bass is really forward in the mix and I just love the unmistakable Stingray tone. I particularly like the double-stop slides. GASing for a Musicman now...😫
  5. It could just be the light, can't be sure without a closer look. I really love it though, good photos really make for a good advert.
  6. It's in nice nick however i can't help noticing that there is quite a noticeable neck pocket gap on the bass side. Not sure how much that would bother me as it is otherwise lovely.
  7. Looks familiar 😄, hope it went well
  8. The P bass is like a comfy pair of slippers. I love the simplicity. Really makes you think about your technique and music you are using it to make. I like the chunky neck. My current one only weighs 3.9kg so very easygoing on the back. Aesthetically very pleasing particularly if it's beaten up a bit.
  9. For me the P34 is simply a sensible bass. Sensible colour choices (all 2 of them). Bit too sensible for me.
  10. Received a P bass bought from Mick today. Everything as described and a straightforward chap to do business with. Buy with confidence.
  11. Correction to the previous answer, it's actually 4.2kg as per my new snazzy digital luggage scales 😎
  12. You can add a recently acquired 414 next to my name @Al Krow

    This is lovely. Love it.
  14. Hi it's 4.4kg according to the bathroom scales.
  15. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but I love them. I've got DR black beauties on my vintage white BB414 and they look cool.
  16. It is nice but i think 300 is way too high particularly considering the used prices of 414, 424 and 1024s. But if someone has to have it then that's fair enough.
  17. Why buy one with a knackered truss rod when this beauty is available in the best colour... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294129670474
  18. Looks like a BB414 if I'm not mistaken?
  19. Rush, Birmingham NEC, 30th anniversary tour, early 2000's. Was a big Rush fan up until that point but the gig itself was like listening to the CD. Left me cold. I was stood next to an obsessive Rush fan who lived every minute which didn't help. Geddy is still a hero though.
  20. Yes it's rosewood. Do you use the oily baby wet wipes? Wouldn't have considered using those but we do have a baby and associated wipes so might finally have a bass-related use for them!
  21. Hi all, I've recently taken possession of a second hand bass and I am about to give it a good clean before I replace the strings and set it up. I normally use guitar fretboard oil and kitchen towel to clean all the gunk off the fretboard but before I get stuck into this one does anyone have any top tips for bass gunk removal? Cheers in advance!
