  1. All the time. I started out with a country lick and am now waist deep in thick disco soup. I am trying to source a midi controller so I can add the synth wierdness this country lick simply needs 😁
  2. The EHBs are fat on the treble side, they're more like a wedge shape, no?
  3. Some gratuitous pics of the SB trying to show how they slimmed out the body 🙂
  4. No, Peavey know how to make an amp. They were sold to Gibson and that's when it started to go south (surprise surprise). Peavey only own distribution rights in Northern America.
  5. Imagine how busy the Fender Returns department would have been towards the end of the 70's 😂
  6. If you're talking about the whispered, breathy sheeeite so in vogue these days, you're pointing the finger at the wrong doggie.
  7. The hue of the side dots is due to the colour of the tinted finish and surely supposed to be like that? Both those necks have wood of the same colour, just one is sprayed with an orange tinted gloss to give it the... well... classic vibe you paid for. There's nothing there which would bother me but if you feel you must return it, go for it.
  8. The ad title is Nowhere is it claimed the bass is a Fender, or even the bass is a Precision for that matter, and rightly so. It's a Fender 3 hole neck plate. The rest? Well, I can tell you what it isn't 😉
  9. I am very fond of this Blade B4. I knew a guy in the early 90's who had one of their strats and it was a thing of beauty, always wanted to try one of the basses. Worst? I bought a pedal case for a project and had moved on from needing it before it even arrived. Now it sits there, mocking me.
  10. "Bass is the tool of ignorance" - Blackie Lawless 😂 On a happier tone, at one gig I was told "We couldn't hear the band but we could feel your bass" ...which was nice.
  11. A Year of Birth bass shouldn't be too expensive at this point.
  12. He should quit smoking, too.
  13. "The bass booms, dropping like a paving slab from the top of a tower block, shattering, spreading the circumfluent surges of the guitar and keyboards to areas of half-baked excitement." Foooook sake.
  14. All killer, no filler! Very nice indeed.
  15. It doesn't look too bad, I'll allow it.
  16. Hipshot B bridges in general, just something about them irks me. The 5 string model, in particular, is a work of asymmetric evil.
  17. There have been two Origin customs in the FS section here recently which have been two of the nicest looking basses I have ever seen. The green 6 string ad has had all the pics removed and, if it was a 4 string, would be living with me now. It was the same model as this, the other one, This is outrageously nice (but unfortunately fretless). The Fender-alikes do absolutely nothing for me at all but, if it pays the bills, fair enough.
  18. STOP!!! Abba time!
  19. I'm coming in somewhere between country and disco 😵
  20. I like that a lot.
  21. Yeah, on the singing/rapping borderline, add Zack de la Rocha from RATM. He's like Freddie Mercury in the way that you realise just how truly great he was by hearing other people try his songs.
  22. Being a metal lover, this is my kind of territory but, if it's actual singing efforts we're talking about... Mark Arm from Mudhoney Henry Rollins Sabbath era Ozzy Chuck Mosely from Faith No More Paul Linehan from The Frank and Walters It's interesting to see people mention the kind of X-factor screensavers who can hit notes but have nothing to say, those who just want to be famous and take the quick route to get there, compared to those who are prepared to live in a van and sleep on floors for years in order to play and just get their music out there. Authenticity and integrity go a long way to covering a lot of technical vocal sins.
  23. Gruff from Super Furry Animals
