1. You and thousands of other bands are thinking the same thing. How about The Smiths' The Queen Is Dead instead?
2. It's not on the album, artistically, let's put it that way It's like Easy on the later versions of Angel Dust. It's not an album track, not supposed to be there if you care about the artistic vision behind it all, just a shameless biz ploy to boost sales. Down with this kind of thing
3. That's only twenty four, that's not too many. If you can afford them and you enjoy playing them then have as many as you want. If you're not playing them and just hoarding, then you're a bad person and you shall be smoten from above. But, if you play them, thumbs up.
4. My sister went to see him, her overriding impression was that he needs a good wash and a long stint in rehab. Mrs. Robinson wasn't on the album, so I can understand them not playing it.
5. Lemon oil will be just fine, i've used it on a blocked and bound fretboard before without any problems.
6. The funky one at the start of his nervous breakdown [flash]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXpsOylosV0[/flash] [flash]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5QtRbcrKjo[/flash]

Very nice indeed.
8. Yes, you'll pay import duty and VAT on anything you buy from outside the EU, it should have to go through customs once it arrives in the UK, this is nothing to do with the seller, just the way international trade works. Factor about 25% onto whatever you're paying for the bass,it'll be no more than that. You'll have to pay the postie cash when he arrives with it. If the sums look good with this factored in then go for it. Sometimes they slip through the net and there's no customs charge (which you would then declare, of course ) but don't bank on it. There are some great basses at great prices over there, even with The Man getting his cut.
9. Yep, bought a good few from Japan, most recently last week. What do you need to know?
10. COF are three pounds of sh*te in a two pound bag, however.
11. Ghost are very consciously going for a classic rock rather than a metal sound, overdriven guitars rather than distorted. Give it a bit of time, I hated them at first but I think the album is actually pretty catchy. It's a cheese-fest lyrically but even so I've grown to like them and the scooby doo imagery
12. Yup, done it for years, to the point I find it almost uncomfortable to use those crazily sharp edges on your average fretboard. Someone call health and safety! I use a small flat file to to the basic rounding and then a couple of fine grades of sandpaper to smooth the whole thing. I do both sides though, for tone.
13. Wow indeed. I have never seen one of them before.
14. I like sunbursts but have only one, this Bacchus Woodline P
15.
And here was me thinking of asking if you fancied the lead guitar spot in Castero before Richie came on board.
Cheers, Mog, I appreciate it. Funnily enough, the last time we played with ye, at the Siege, I had spent the previous evening trying to talk people out of a last-minute cancellation because they didn't fancy the drive to Limerick and that was the final straw. I made the decision to honour the last two gigs and then end it while on my way to the Stables, so was probably a little distracted when I was talking to you
16. Active pickups are one thing, onboard eq is another. As said, a lot of 'active' basses have an onboard eq fed by passive pickups. A lot of basses have an eq bypass which takes the eq out of the circuit but you still won't get output unless there is a battery installed. A bass with an onboard eq won't necessarily be louder than a passive bass as, when the eq is set flat, ideally you should be getting close to passive sound. If you're not boosting or cutting then you shouldn't really be hearing the influence of the eq when everything is flat.
17. Also, this isn't something you should judge visually, you need to forget about having them around the same distance away from the string and do it purely on what you hear. You will adjust to any changes within a couple of minutes of playing.
18. As has been said, lower the neck pickup and raise the bridge pickup until their output is similar when each is on full volume. There is no black magic or complicated maths here , it really is that simple. Your bridge pickup is probably a hotter output pickup than the neck anyway.
19.
Yes, every single f***ing time. That's why I have no intention whatsoever of gigging again - the hassle/enjoyment ratio is always skewed predominantly in favour of the former in my experience.

Without any need for further qualification, most absolutely this.
I, too, wish to subscribe to this newsletter. We've just passed the first anniversary of me getting totally depressed with the band situation and quitting the band I started, turning my back on five years worth of 200 mile drives for rehearsal, countless hours writing the songs, doing websites, artwork, facebooks, myspaces, getting gigs and all the other crap. For the first time in my life my default brain setting isn't "Must Gig" and I'm really enjoying not being in a band. I was even sounded out a few weeks ago to see if I would be interested in restarting it... no thanks, just not interested anymore
20. Cheers If I'm honest, if I was designing the thing I wouldn't have the scratchplate there myself but, in person, it just works
21.
Oh but I have an ABZ Dingwall in the same finish an had it nearly 2 years now, it happens to be the one I play the most and it hasn't deteriorated with popping, just gone a bit shiny over the matt texture and you can only tell if you hold it across a light source.
My 5er is probably a better example
22. I moved that way about ten years ago and started selling most of my fours but I've found myself moving back to fours over the last couple of years, they just feel a little more "right" for want of a better term, in my hands.
