I've a pile of parts building up I really ought to move on to ensure domestic bliss with Mrs Dr. J isn't a thing of the past. First up, [s]Nordstrand MM5.2 - Lakland sized, 103mm x 48mm excluding the mounting ears for 19mm string spacing, four conductor cable - £70 / €80[/s] SOLD http://www.nordstrandpickups.com/bass-pickups/modern/ Nordstrand J5 - single coil - I've two covers for this, one is 96mm x 18mm with the mounting screw holes 41mm apart and one 101mm x 18mm with the mounts 46mm apart - £55 / €65 +P&P http://www.nordstrandpickups.com/bass-pickups/traditional/ I bought these for my Godlyke 5, they sound great, but I've a four string with Barts which I want to replicate the sound of. Barely used. [s]Seymour Duncan SSB-5n and SSB5b set - Unused, still boxed with all the bits. Bought for a five string I never got around to building. Two conductor cabling. Standard Soapbar size 101mm x 37mm - £70 / €80 +P&P for the set[/s] SOLD http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/basslines/cutting-edge-1/ssb45_passive_p/ [s]Badass Bass V chrome bridge - you know the score with these. Slotted for 19mm spacing - £60 / €70 +P&P[/s] SOLD Added - 12/4/11 Schaller string tuner set (BML possibly?) salvaged off an old G&L neck many years ago, includes all bushings and screws. Slightly tarnished but fully functional. One tuner has suffered a bit of damage - the clover leaf looks like it was bent slightly and straightened out, you've got to look for it to see it, doesn't effect funtionality and I couldn't get it clearly in a pic - if you look closely at the tuner set up as lefty in the pic you might see it. These are fully reversible so will work for lefties, 4+1, 3+2 configuration, etc. I measure the bushings at 17mm - £35 / €40 +P&P I'm in Ireland so £5 should cover postage to the UK. Paypal is fine.

Bought an EMG PJ set from Howard and he had them posted the same afternoon I paid him. Top man, a pleasure to deal with. Thanks again!
It's a pity though that you've just hotlinked the images from their site - when the instruments are sold they'll be gone and then we'll never know what the thread was about...
That's a bit of a hot potato at the moment I like digimart, but grew frustrated that a lot of the sellers therein don't ship internationally. The beauty of the u-box is that they'll send it to you if you want it. There were a couple of things I tried to get from digimart sellers but got the big no. Where's the fun GAS when you can't do anything to remedy it?

Just having a browse on Ishibashi, there are some amazing looking basses which are domestic market only. There are some amazing looking instruments here, that pink Fujigen in particular is really doing it for me.

I don't mind slap when it's in context but it so rarely happens. The technique was forever soiled for me when it seemed every bleedin' bassist in Dublin was slapping through every single song, no matter how awful it sounded, in the early '90's, something that just got immeasurably worse after RHCP got big. It seemed almost every bassist was struck down with guitarist's "Look at me!" syndrome, pummeling the bejesus out of their shiny new Stingrays. Horrible days. Unless your name is Larry Graham, put your thumb away, fella.
Strange one in Cork last night. Dyin with the man flu but got through it. On to Dublin tonight with the same bands. Wasn't very happy with the main act who apologised to the crowd during their set stating: "sorry we're not heavy tonight, our own amps are back in Sweden" Goes without saying that they wont be using any of our gear tonight. The guitard didn't even know what the standby switch on the head did, or how to switch channels. What kind of band goes on tour without amp heads? The type that use Epi V's and T'birds, thats who! I bet ya theres stacks of Marshall MG's back in Sweden that would be more suitable. Look! One power switch! (rant over) The second band were fantastic. Age of Taurus. London based I think. If you're into doom then check em out.
Portrait? Time stopped in 1983 for them, Mog, go easy. Things are strage and unusual in the future for them, just like in Back To The Future II

Have gear, play gear. I don't operate a museum, what I have will get donked, sweat on, bashed and, most importantly, played. I wouldn't buy anything I wasn't prepared to gig with.

The 2024x remains top of my list. I'm saving, oh so slowly, towards one.

Having seen some of those Urban Dictionary entries, I'm unsure of how to compliment another man by name without saying he has a large penis.

Sad news, but somewhat inevitable too, he'd been in trouble for a long, long time.

Deleting posts and provenance of equipment sold on BC

Space isn't the issue though. It's no longer my instrument, whether it's for display should be at the discretion of the new owner (I.M.O. of course) -

I usually host any pics of anything I'm selling on my own site and delete once it's sold, simply because it's not my equipment any more, why would I host pics of someone else's equipment? I'm not sure I really agree with an archive of historical sales, surely any sale is the business only of the seller and buyer? If you plan on buying anything, surely you save any pics and information before commencing with the purchase anyway? Ebay, for example, lists items only brielfy once a sale has completed, I can't think of any other site which would store information publicly on users purchases which could quite easily be used for sinister purposes. Let's be honest, we all put up a lot of information on our equipment and when we'll be out of our houses at gigs, for example. Do we need a searchable database of equipment purchases and the amount of monies spent on equipment going back over years available to absolutely anyone? -
Ric 4003. I adored and still adore the tone but it's such an uncomfortable instrument to play unless you play with a plec. Had to move it on. Whenever I yearn for the tone again I recall my fingertips grazing the sharp bridge pickup mount and the three-day bruises on my forearm after long gigs from the lack of contours and any desire for one swiftly evaporates.

Have you checked to see how many Russian mp3 sites your music is available on? We put our last E.P. up for free on our site and, even still, it was on hundreds of dodgy mp3 sites within two days, the buggers will even steal free music

Now That Myspace Is Dead - Where To Put The Music?
Doctor J replied to spongebob's topic in General Discussion
Reverbnation seems to be picking up a lot of myspace evacuees. We've just set up our own site. It's easy to stream mp3s. No ads, no crap, no having to promote several different media outlet sites ever again.
