  1. You don't need to imagine, there are plenty of links in the thread.
  2. I'll LOOK OUT for it!
  3. Focus is fretless Kubicki with some Chapman Stick. The Pestilence and initial Atheist sessions were a couple of years before Focus was recorded, around the same time Masvidal and Reinert were doing Human and Gobel was playing on Imperial Doom. Choy left to join Atheist full-time for Elements.
  4. You could replicate the effect by setting up an amp in the corner, at full volume, plug in a guitar and just leave it to feedback?
  5. Fools Earnestly Attend Rubbish
  6. To me, it sounds like you've got lots of really low lows (say anything below 90Hz) in there and not much in the way of low mids in that song. Phones (and a lot of contemporary domestic audio equipment) don't do low lows. you've got to have a decent representation of the frequencies above them to come across on all kinds of equipment.
  7. I'll bet he even laughs out of tune, too.
  8. The same or worse than you got for 20 quid in 1999? His live solo efforts have been all trough, zero peak.
  9. Lovely, reminds me of Doug Wimbish's 5 string Spector. It's genuine wear and tear, though, don't cheapen it by calling it a relic. It's the real deal.
  10. I've lived with the CD for a week and love it. It's not a night and day difference, just a little warmer and clearer, to my ears. Less reverb, more detail.
  11. Surely the age of the song is irrelevant if it's a good song?
  12. I should have seen that coming.
  13. Well, there'll be no talking coming out of me for the rest of the evening 😄 The song: I could empathise with the lady in the picture. As a youth, I had many an adventure which seemed like a great idea to start off with, but quickly sped beyond my control and ended with blood loss. Something fast and violent seemed appropriate. The techy stuff: Same as usual. Yamaha drums into Behringer gear. Bass was a Bacchus Jazz into some hearty distortion. Guitars were a Bacchus strat and a Tokai 335, run into an Avid Eleven. Lots of downstrokes died in the recording of this song. Vocals squaked out this evening and now I need a nice cup of tea and some rest. All mashed together in ProTools.
  14. No. It's just that some people are mental.
  15. I'm in the same boat. Vocals are proving... ehhh... problematic, let's say. Everything else is done. Two days to sort it out. Let's go! 🤣
  16. All of them. The restriction, if there is one, is the player.
  17. Black Night at an audition for the school band.
  18. Great work, as always. It looks fantastic, but I really liked the white. I understand it was very full on, though.
  19. Some numbers Rick (Allen) - one Meat (loaf) - two (Marc) Bolan - tree Jaco - four Dave Clark - five Nikki - six S-club - seven Elvis - ate Kraftwork - nein Pearl Jam - ten
  20. After your Ruby Murray, you might need to have a big Barry White?
  21. If you want to protect your memories of the good times, simply don't go. I wouldn't begrudge anyone doing something they enjoy, even if it is dirt to my ears. I haven't seen Metallica since 1992 so I don't erase the memory of the AJFA tour with some 'Tallicrap and that's how it will stay 😂
