Phil has been touring, playing only Pantera tunes, for the last couple of years. Using the big name gets them off mid-afternoon festival slots to headliner status and with lots more cash money in the bank. Rex wouldn't have his signature bass if it was "Phil, Rex & Chums", Gibson wouldn't have touched him if he didn't reek of future filthy lucre. The respective Abbot estates have seen the numbers and nodded solemnly in approval. And this is before we think of the extraordinarily tasteless merch opportunities waiting to be explored. Many cans will be crushed against foreheads next year.

The Village Green Preservation Society would be a good one, too.

I've got great hair but apparently I have a bad attitude. I might apply just to be unreliable for my own amusement. Ah crap, I see what they mean!

Oooh, imagine the cash which could be made with the England's New Anthem reality TV series, the winner voted for by the public, of course. Ratings gold! Cash money!

Land of Hope and Glory is another empire bigger-upper, no better than Rule Britannia, really. An English anthem should be specific to England, rather than Britain, surely? Why does it need to be olde anyway? Perhaps Stormzy can conjure up something? Or Ed Sheeran?

Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante are the names I've seen mentioned. Charlie, I can accept, but I swore I'd never intentionally be in the same room as Zakk Wylde ever again after seeing Zakk Sabbath a couple of years ago.

Ooooh, that one is nasty.

Ahhh, now it makes sense... "The surviving member of Pantera, vocalist Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown, will tour as Pantera in 2023. It is unknown who would play on guitar and drums to replace Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul. Dimebag was murdered onstage with Damageplan in 2004 and Paul died in 2018. They have signed with Artist Group International to book their North American dates. Dennis Arfa and Peter Pappalardo will be the responsible agents. “We are thrilled to be working with such an iconic band and bringing their music back to the fans,” said Pappalardo." Shamtera?

What a... ehhh... comeback, let's say, from Junior. Who thought he had this kind of thing in him?

They've hidden most of the ones from earlier. The only negative reviews you see now are ones left in the last few hours.

Nice! That is a lovely top.

Was Burner not the Japanese-made range? There are USA bolt-on models which haven't been called Burners.

Bacchus, blocks and binding? I don't really play 5 strings anymore so decided to move on my beloved 04 Bacchus Standard 5. I love the tone of it, but have just accepted that 4 bangers are where I'm most comfortable. Then I had an idea and found this Woodline in Japan from the same era, when they had the "Handmade" range with the two-piece Deviser bridge. After repairing some things the seller amazingly omitted to disclose, and a thorough clean, this thing is just what I was looking for. I still think I'll install a Bart XTCT preamp I have knocking around to get me exact tone of the 5 string, though, however it is lovely sounding as is. Anyway, here it is. Fitting in with the 4 string members of Team Bacchus

I have made corrections to my original post. Does this please the Typo Police?

Not a whole lot of love, there. Sorry, I couldn't stop myself.

I wonder where the venue stands, legally, to impose this? If a photographer or band is hired by the couple, then that's who their contract is with, not the venue. The venue is just another contractor hired by the couple and, as such, should have no right to access information on other contractor's payments details or impose a fee, based on the value of the contract between separate contractors and the couple, surely?
-
You soon might be able to hire it out very cheaply.

I watched the video of him miming on this bass to songs recorded on a different bass over 30 years ago. Rex hasn't been entirely relevant to anything in about 20 years. I'm not sure getting this made with a thinner neck, yet still no volute, is the best idea ever. The signature-model fetish of this era, in the absence of any real innovation, is getting very boring.

Tone pot removal or 2 pickups into one tone pot

If the bass already does everything you need as is, why mutilate it? -
Nice. I've never seen a setup like that before, a full size kit designed just to trigger. Very interesting.

Ronnie James Dio on bass, shortly after his band auditioned to play the Enchantment Under The Sea dance

Passive doesn't disengage the battery from the circuit, only unplugging the lead does.

Funny (ha ha or peculiar) gear transactions
Doctor J replied to Mickeyboro's topic in General Discussion
I bought a headless Status bass from a deeply middle-aged Elvis impersonator (Las Vegas Elvis, to be specific) and got to meet his much younger trophy wife, possibly named Priscilla, I didn't ask.
