  1. What's new? In 77 and 78, you were taking a chance on a 77/78 neck anyway, even when you bought it new 😉
  2. Calculate how much the new parts will cost. Sell the Affinity as is. Combine the money and spend it all on a bass which is the bass you actually want.
  3. Sell both. If you really wanted either you wouldn't be asking the question.
  4. No. I don't think so. I'm much the same, where ensemble music captivates me but solo pieces tend to bore me to tears, especially on clanky instruments not entirely suitable to solo performances. People performing these solo pieces tend to have been doing it long before lockdown. It has never been easier to remotely collaborate. If you're not doing it now, being able to be in a room with someone won't change that.
  5. Never forget, it looks like two instruments were sacrificed so the monster could live. That glued-on headstock appendage probably lived a noble life on a different instrument before the decapitation.
  6. Hand made with a router location hole, of course 😂 It's about as Irish as as bowl of Lucky Charms but the Americans do love some shillelaghs, shamrocks and top o' the mornin' shenanigans. Even so, they'll want to have the luck o' the quare fella to get a grand for a bitsa P, to be sure, to be sure.
  7. A normal toggle is just fine. You can cut the quick connect wires and solder as normal. Before the quick connects, EMGs had a standard braided wire fixed into the pickup. The only difference is you have the additional red cable which you need to connect to your battery to power the preamp in the pickup.
  8. Noice!
  9. Who did what now?
  10. I'd put the mortgage on it not being a US Fender.
  11. I like smaller bodies but, unlike necks, they're not a deal breaker for me. I'm a big fan of the Streamer/Spector NS shape, in particular.
  12. Although not all are pointy, I do have a thing for superstrats of that era. The Bacchus is an early 2000's imposter, though.
  13. Recision? More like a Decision. A series of bad ones.
  14. And I'd be reluctant to buy anything where a non-standard pickup shape greatly restricts replacement options if they don't sound to your taste.
  15. There hasn't been an Eire since 1949, just Ireland and Northern Ireland these days.
  16. Yowzah! Very nice! The Guild is particularly sweet.
  17. Don't give Sharon ideas, man, please!!!
  18. Randy California's ghost wouldn't give up, either, and lost his estate a lot of money chasing a payoff. I suspect these ladies will end up having to dig very deep to pay off their, no doubt, highly-motivational legal team.
  19. The damages are the royalties they did not accrue when they were not credited as songwriters. A similar tactic was used by Marvin Gaye, recently, when he rose from the grave to sue some contemporary bods, whose names I cannot remember, and won, I think. It was possibly the song which has since been identified as part of rape culture, though I could be mixing two stories up. Blurred Lines?
  20. That's not mid 90's, it's a 90. Fantastic basses, I have an 89. Great bass at a great price. GLWS.
  21. I joined a band shortly before a gig they had lined up. A mate was the lead guitarist and admitted he had been reluctant to ask me, warning me about the singer. I learned their songs, had one rehearsal and the guy seemed ok, decent singer. On the day of the gig, we met before the soundcheck, all good. When we finally started to soundcheck, there was no sign of the guy, though. We waited a little while, then had the soundcheck without him. A few minutes before the set was supposed to start, the singer finally reappeared, quite pished. However, the set didn't start off too badly, but gradually deteriorated as he kept downing pints. I had decided I was out before the end of the set, which fizzled out like the tail of a wet fart. My mate had decided to leave around the same time I did. As we left the venue, the singer was brawling with a punter. Classy.
  22. Shooting greedy musicians who want to be paid a little more.
  23. It looks like it was taken against the same wall as the other pics.
