  1. Few things ruin the crowd buzz quite as effectively as the band beaching and complaining all the time. The exception, of course, is if you're looking at The Jesus and Mary Chain, in which case you haven't really seen them if the show passes without some kind of tantrum and meltdown.
  2. Nice. Very nice.
  3. He'll just write S in front and TH after, it's all good 🙂
  4. It'll be about 25% of the declared values, including shipping costs.
  5. I have a title. Now for the rest of it 😵
  6. Did you try the Jazz again after the break? It's more likely something getting hotter than it should in the amp. Turning it off for an hour would have let it all cool.
  7. It says "Face value". Perhaps they were doing this price-escalates-based-on-demand model which was coming in shortly prior to Covid-19 shutting everything down. The Ozzy gig over here was advertised as "Tickets from €59" and, sure enough, one (or possibly two) paid €59 but most found themselves being charged more and more as there was decent demand early on. The price just kept rising, seemingly legitimately, on the Ticketmaster site. £270 is an insane amount of money for a ticket to any band.
  8. It has basically eliminated any prospect of buying anything used from the UK. There have been a few basses which probably would have found a new home had it not been for the extra taxation making an attractive looking deal far too expensive. Even trying to buy small items, such as pickups or preamps, has become needlessly difficult. I had two sellers on the forums here refuse to sell to me because they were intimidated/frustrated by the prospect of having to complete paperwork to post outside the UK.
  9. At the risk of seemingly repeating last year's answer, it's this. Not the bass but, rather, the Sadowsky onboard preamp I installed. After a little bit of woodwork, it's never fun putting new holes into old basses, it has turned a great playing instrument with quirky and complicated electronics into an absolute savage which plays and sounds as good as anything I've ever had. Rather than have a small hole or non-functioning switch, I set the switch up to run the pickups as serial/parallel which has added another nice option to a great, great bass. After Before
  10. Does... does this mean Leo didn't get it right, first time? Wow. I don't want to be the one to break this on TB 🥺
  11. Congratulations, @upside downer , top job!
  12. Pattoo, tattoo , let's call the whole thing off?
  13. They don't have a bad album, though Down On The Upside comes close 😂, but yeah Batmotorfinger is clearly a banger too
  14. While Louder Than Love is the greatest thing they ever did (I appreciate there is room for discussion here), this album is a belter from start to finish
  15. You could even be at a live event and watching a streamed event, streaming a streamed event at a live event. Deep.
  16. You could never really use these samples at a gig, though. Yeah, they're best used half-live.
  17. Bernard Edwards Cliff Williams Mike Mills Andrew Weiss Geddy Lee Doug Wimbish Muzz Skillings Tony Choy Sean Malone Roger Patterson Ben Shepherd Bob Daisley
  18. No, this time it's tonewood vs tonewood.
  19. Did somebody Gibb her the link?
  20. Exactly. That's what interns are for.
  21. Does anybody even listen to radio activity these days? The young people are all about the streaming.
  22. The Godlyke is like that for me. I have it around the same time and it's just too foxy to part with. It came with the Barts as stock and it's just flawless. I used to have a 5 string twin a couple of serial numbers out but, by contrast, although it played superbly I could never get it to sound the way I wanted so sold it 7 or 8 years ago. I get the feeling the Blade is in the forever camp, too. Putting the Sadowsky preamp into it has elevated it into the flawless category.
  23. They just sneak up on you! 👍
  24. Not this one
  25. It probably depended on how they ended up on the new-fangled electric bass guitar. Migrants from double bass probably went with fingers and blow-ins from guitar probably used a plec. I doubt there was as much thought going into it as we would like to think.
