Never owned a Yamaha bass so I can't comment. I own a Squier bass and a Squier tele. My Squier bass is a Matt Freeman model and it's outstanding for it's price. I own Yamaha 6 string accoustic and living itm So there you go. As mentioned above Yamaha =modern.Squier P bass= classic.

I use a combination of Ableton live lite (came free with Focusrite interface) and Audacity.

I own Fender an Squier and they both sound the way I want them to sound.

I use Ableton live and no way I'm getting Mac. It's overrated.....

My Sony laptop had it. The hard drive has gone ages ago. Lost quite a few files. I replaced the drive with ssd that works well but it's only 250 gb so nearly filled up. Can anyone recommend a good and reliable PC or laptop to use purely for music/ recording? Currently I use Windows 7.
